About John

Write a review
Hi and welcome to Nepal, the land of eight of the world's highest mountains! I am John Shrestha, a travel entrepreneur as well as an explorer, and I would love to take you to the awesome and iconic corners of Nepal and Bhutan. It is my pleasure to welcome you to such a beautiful place that people across the world want to visit. Before I stepped into all the famous trekking regions of Nepal 10 years ago, I worked for a non-profit social organization. I wanted to become familiar with the social issues of people who needed love and compassion. Looking at their needs, I realized that I must do something to help. So, I set up a trekking agency to earn revenue to help people. I had worked before as a freelance trekking guide and some of the people I worked with became my motivators and encouraged me to open a trekking agency. I have a passion for travel and I love nature. I have traveled with people coming from around the world and I gained experience in organizing treks as well as in preparing itineraries. I love meeting people who come from different cultures. I am also a travel photographer and in my free time, I like to do marketing for my company. The rest of the time, I am a full-time trekking guide, certified by the Tourism Board of Nepal.

John's Expertise

I am a travel advisor certified with ASTA (the American Society of Travel Advisors). Along with this, I am specialized in adventure tourism and activities such as trekking, mountaineering, cultural tours, safaris, family holidays, volunteer trips, photography tours, and private trips in all the regions of Nepal and Bhutan. I have even explored new trekking routes in the Annapurna region as well as areas in remote far-western Nepal. I know there are people who are looking to do something different and are willing to explore new trails that carry new customs and traditions, with fewer tourists. My trekking agency has a team of professionals and experts who are locals of the places which you are going to visit. Traveling with this expertise means you are following the rules and regulations of sustainable and responsible tourism. Traveling with locals also means you have the right to customize your itinerary, which is the perfect means to know the local culture, the natural beauty, the unknown culture, etc.

John's Best Travel Experience

For me, traveling is always rewarding and about knowing something that you didn’t know before. I love a great outdoor activity, and the greatest experience for me was the Everest Three High Passes Trek. This was a challenging and unique experience. I accepted a challenge to complete the trek in 11 days, and my experience taught me how to deal with a situation en route and the way to solve it. Solving hurdles on the way was beyond my thinking and it was a very rewarding experience as an explorer!

Why is John the right travel expert

I was born in Nepal, I was raised in Nepal, and I operate in all the tourism activities in all the places of Nepal. I have been doing what I love for more than 10 years, and you are going to be a part of that rewarding experience. Since I know every place of Nepal inch by inch, you are already in the hands of an expert. I am a local trek and tour operator who follows all the rules and regulations of sustainable and responsible tourism. What more do you need?
