    About Sither

    Write a review
I originally come from a very remote village in Paro valley, Bhutan, but my parents moved to the capital city Thimphu and that is where I grew up and got my education. I started a clothing store in Thimphu with goods imported from Nepal, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, and India. Visiting these countries instilled in me a love for traveling, meeting new people and learning about new cultures. I learned that ‘traveling’ meant seeing the world from a whole different perspective and for many people around the world, traveling is a passion. This realization inspired me to start a travel company in Bhutan, 4 years ago. I believe Bhutan has so much to offer and I want travelers to see Bhutan, too! A unique culture and traditions, important landmarks, beautiful natural scenery, a history of benevolent Kings, strong environment conservation and preservation policies and so much more. Personally, I love cycling and I am an avid hiker and trekker. In my free time, I am always outdoors, either hiking or cycling. I am a member of the Trekkers 360 – a group of local enthusiast hikers who regularly go for short day hikes or multiple day treks exploring the various trekking trails of Bhutan and camping in the wild. I'm also a member of Thimphu Mountain Biking Club and we regularly organize short races in the various biking trails throughout the year. The group also sponsors and support school dropouts and youth from marginalized backgrounds. The kind of happiness that I experience when I travel to a new place or go trekking or biking is incredible, and I want everyone to feel that same kind of happiness.

    Sither's Expertise

Growing up in a mountainous country, I specialize in customizing tours from classic cultural tours to mountain biking, cycling and trekking. Fortunately for me, all these activities are hobbies of mine! I also have in-depth knowledge of Bhutan’s famous as well as the off-the-beaten-path cultural sights, lesser-known hiking and trekking trails and remote villages with undiluted culture. I can specialize in going beyond the regular places of interest and am able to offer much more than the usual set itinerary or tours. Since Bhutan is a peaceful country and considered one of the safest places on earth, I also organize solo trips for both male and female tourists. Apart from conducting fully guided cycling, biking, hiking, trekking, cultural and nature tours, I also organize short adventure activities like kayaking, rafting, traditional Bhutanese-style weddings and puja ceremonies.

    Sither's Best Travel Experience

My most memorable travel experience is completing the Laya – Lingshi Trek with my 360 Trekkers Group. It was a totally surreal experience being in mountains at altitudes above 5,000 meters and walking one of the most difficult treks in the world, “the Snowman Trek”. What made this experience even more memorable and beautiful was witnessing the marriage of two lovely trekker friends at the base of Mount Jomolhari, near the Tshophu twin lakes at 4,500 meters above the sea level. The heavens blessed the marriage ceremony with showers of snowflakes, and we all danced on the white snow-carpet in temperatures below zero!

Why is Sither the right travel expert

My personal traveling experience has shaped my expertise in arranging and organizing cultural, trekking and adventure tours. I can provide you with an in-depth knowledge of not just the famous, but also the road less traveled and places less-visited by tourists, mixed in with a lot of fun and memorable experiences. Over the years, my team and I have successfully organized many such tours and I believe that what sets my tour company apart from other companies is that we customize all our clients itinerary according to their interest during the planning period and upon reaching Bhutan, we give them the choice to choose or drop places or activities according to their mood and preferences never making them feel like they are bound to the planned itinerary. Most importantly, during the tour, I constantly keep in touch and follow up with my field team (guide and driver) to ensure that my tourist guests are happy and satisfied with our services and be prompt in making changes if any. I share the passion of any ardent traveler always looking to visit unique and exotic destinations, and having the authority and experience to organize tours is a fulfillment of my dream.
