Itinerary
Spectacular traverse from Gokyo Lakes to Kala Pattar affording incredible views of Mount Everest. Challenge yourself on the Everest Circuit Trek, a breathtaking journey that combines the classic Everest Base Camp route with the stunning Gokyo Lakes and a high-altitude crossing of the Cho La pass. This carefully paced adventure takes you beyond the standard trails, offering a more immersive and varied Himalayan experience, with expansive mountain panoramas, glacial lakes, and remote valleys less travelled by most trekkers.
The Everest Circuit Trek provides a diverse and scenic journey, crossing rugged high passes and taking in sweeping views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu from multiple vantage points. Gokyo Ri at 5483m (17,988ft) and Kala Pattar at 5545m (18,192ft) provide two of the best viewpoints in the Himalaya, while the non-technical Cho La Pass at 5420m (17,782ft) presents a stunning crossing with breathtaking views towards Tibet’s 8000m (26,247ft) peak, Cho Oyu.
The adventure begins with a scenic flight into Lukla, followed by gradual acclimatisation as we make our way through Sherpa villages, including Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, and Khunde. The trek passes through monasteries such as Thyangboche and Pangboche, offering moments of tranquility and insight into Sherpa Buddhist culture. Reaching Everest Base Camp at 5360m (17,585ft) is a highlight, and during the peak expedition season from March to May, you may witness climbers preparing for their summit bids.
This Everest Circuit Trek prioritises comfort and sustainability, with stays in Private Comfort Camps and carefully selected lodges. These private, low-impact camps provide raised beds, clean linen, a heated dining room and a more immersive experience with our Sherpa team, who share their culture and stories along the way.
With a well-paced itinerary featuring built-in acclimatisation days, this Everest Circuit Trek is suited for fit and adventurous trekkers looking for a challenge beyond the standard Everest Base Camp trek. Our all-inclusive approach ensures that meals, unlimited drinking water, domestic flights, permits, and porter assistance are included, along with a Trek Pack featuring a high-quality down jacket and sleeping bag. Many other treks require extra payments for meals, water, and gear rental, but our inclusions provide outstanding value with no hidden costs.
For trekkers looking for the ultimate Everest trek, this high-altitude trekking adventure through Gokyo Lakes, Cho La Pass, and Everest Base Camp is the perfect way to experience the best of the Everest region.

Customer Reviews
The Everest Circuit and the Cho La in Comfort was just one big epic adventure. So glad to have been able to experience Gokyo Ri, Ngozumpa Glacier and Cho La pass - absolute standouts! Then to watch sunset hit Everest and Lhotse from Everest Base Camp on New Years Eve - what a way to send off the year! As you expect from World Expeditions the guides, food and trip organisation was top notch with all involved going above and beyond. I lost my luggage getting to Nepal and the World Ex rep at The Raddison was straight on to the airline, tracked my luggage down and ensured it arrived at time - even arranging transport to go and pick it up from the airport. Can't wait to head back and explore more of the Himalayas with World Ex.
Highly recommended for the adventurer seeking magnificent views of the Himalayas.
The trip was everything I hoped it would be and the World Expeditions team were a big part of that
Hiking in the Himalayas has been on my bucket list for years. World Expeditions took care of all of the details so I could just focus on putting one foot in front of the other and enjoying the majestic beauty of the mountains. It was incredible!
