Southern Divide

I would highly recommend our recent trip to Peru and to Bolivia, along the Southern Divide in South America, going from Lima to Santiago. We enjoyed making our journey with our multi-aged and multi-national fellow travellers. Highlights of our trip included: riding the old-fashioned trains of Peru Rail to the start of the Inca Trail, viewing the beauty of Machu Pichu, climbing Rainbow Mountain, exploring colonial Sucre, taking photos on the Salt Flats near Uyuni, crossing the Bolivian desert in a 4X4, seeing live volcanos and geysers and lots of wildlife (e.g., llamas, alpacas, guanacos, vicuanas and vizcachas) in the wild.

Lima and Santiago bookended this trip. The small cities and towns we visited were more to my taste. La Paz was special in part because of a very good city tour largely on the cable card.

A fantastic bucket list adventure that delivers new surprises every day. This really was getting off the beaten track, and not to be forgotten!

Exceptional tour with the perfect pace to acclimate to the high altitude. Every other day felt like a highlight - there is so much more than Macchu Picchu and the Salt flats. Our CEO Elier was the best guide you could wish for - funny, helpful and always in a good mood.

Beautiful. Amazing. A wonderful CEO; give him a pay rise (will you?!?!?). He deserves it. More so than the big bosses. An amazingly kind man and all the guides were wonderful people. Unforgettable. TIRING.....just amazing. So worth it overall.

Our knowledgeable and friendly CEO, Freddy, was an integral part to our enjoyment of this trip. All of the experiences were incredibly memorable. I felt at ease during the entire trip as Freddy showed safety and concern for all of us throughout the experience. I would highly recommend this trip, especially to travellers heading to South America for the first time.

The trip was a wonderful experience. We learned quite a bit about the local people and their culture by visiting their communities. Watching the women weave was amazing!

Loved the entire experience. Our CEO Jesus was a stand-out in terms of his excellence. We will look to book with GAdventures again. We would likely upgrade for travel through more challenging spots like India or SE Asia.
