The "Paris and Imperial Capitals" tour is designed for seniors who wish to immerse themselves in Europe's grandest cities without the rush. This 16-day city sightseeing trip covers Paris, Vienna, and more, weaving through the rich tapestry of Austria and France. day 1 - Paris
Welcome! Upon arrival, we’ll provide a transfer to the hotel, where you’ll have some free time. In the afternoon, you’ll receive information about the start of your tour, either in person or through the information signs located at the hotel reception.
day 2 - Paris
We’ll immerse ourselves in the rich history of France at the magnificent Palace of Versailles (admission not included), renowned for its stunning gardens. On our return to Paris, we’ll visit Montmartre, a charming bohemian neighborhood famous for its artists, painters, and cabarets. To fully appreciate the grandeur of Paris, we’ll embark on a panoramic city tour with a local guide, showcasing the city’s impressive avenues and iconic monuments. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel. For those interested, there is an optional variety show in the evening.
day 3 - Paris, Rouen
We’ll start our day in central Paris, beginning with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You´ll have the chance to go up to the second floor of this famous iron landmark (tickets included). Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine. You’ll have a free afternoon to explore the city at your own pace. Around 4:00 p. m. , we’ll depart Paris and head to Normandy, arriving in Rouen. You´ll have free time to explore the historic center of this vibrant city, which dates back to Roman times and boasts charming medieval architecture and an impressive Gothic cathedral, offering a delightful blend of history and culture. Note: If wait times at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we might reschedule the visit to a different time (or on Sunday) for your convenience.
day 4 - Rouen, English Channel, Canterbury, London
Today, we’ll have time to take a stroll through the center of Rouen. After this, we’ll travel to northern France. Crossing the English Channel by ferry, we’ll reach Canterbury, the religious capital of England, known for its charming historic center. Our journey will continue to London, where you’ll have some free time in the Tower Bridge area, one of the city´s most iconic symbols, before we head to the hotel.
day 5 - London
Discover London on a panoramic tour with a local guide that showcases the city’s culture and history. You’ll see famous sites such as the Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where you might witness the iconic Changing of the Guard (depending on the dates). In the evening, we’ll establish a meeting point in Piccadilly to take a stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, areas renowned for their lively atmosphere, theaters, and entertainment options. You’ll have plenty of restaurants to choose from for dinner before we return to the hotel.
day 6 - London, Colchester, Colchester - Volendam Ferry
In the morning, we’ll visit the British Museum, one of the world´s oldest museums, where we’ll see traces of cultures from all around the world. At lunchtime, after some free time, we’ll head to Camden, a district renowned for its vibrant and eclectic street market. There, you can explore unique items and artifacts from around the globe and enjoy lunch at one of its little restaurants or food stands. Around 4:00 p. m. , we’ll depart for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, and enjoy a leisurely stroll through its historic streets. We’ll then continue to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight voyage to the Netherlands, staying in en suite cabins. Important note: Due to the limited number of cabins available on the ferry, the itinerary may be adjusted. We might travel from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry, with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry, Volendam, Amsterdam
Around eight in the morning, we arrive in the NETHERLANDS (Hoek van Holland) and visit VOLENDAM, a charming and picturesque fishing village. Afterwards, we travel to AMSTERDAM, and take a guided tour of the city, combining several highlights: the iconic image of the windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary elegance of the South District, and the centuriesold magic of diamond cutting at Museum Square. Finally, we’ll leave the bus and walk into the heart of the city, where the tour will end. Free time afterward.
day 8 - Amsterdam, Hamelin, Berlin
We’ll depart from Amsterdam and head towards Germany. Our first stop is Hamelin, a picturesque German town with shops and streets reminiscent of the Pied Piper of Hamelin fairy tale by Brothers Grimm. We’ll then continue towards Berlin, passing through Marienborn, the former border that separated East and West Germany until 1990. We’ll arrive in Berlin in the evening.
day 9 - Berlin
Immerse yourself in the local culture with a tour of Berlin, the incredible capital of Germany, accompanied by a local guide. From our coach, you´ll have the chance to see the Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city center’s main shopping streets, the old cathedral destroyed during World War II, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the city’s expansive parks. We’ll stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum—two powerful landmarks that remind us of Germany’s challenging history in the previous century. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the city at your own pace. In the early evening, we’ll provide a transfer to the lively Kantstrasse area.
day 10 - Berlin, Dresden, Prague
We’ll journey through forests towards Dresden, a city renowned for its exceptional architectural and artistic heritage, making it one of Germany’s top tourist destinations. You’ll have time to explore some of the impressive palaces and enjoy lunch at one of its many restaurants and coffee shops. Later, we’ll depart for the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague. We’ll head to the Old Town Square, a vibrant area full of energy and tourist activities, ideal for your first experience of Prague. Dine at one of the numerous restaurants offering a variety of international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian. Afterwards, we’ll return to the hotel.
day 11 - Prague
Today, we’ll visit the capital, Prague, the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local tour guide will lead an informative panoramic tour, highlighting the city’s most outstanding monuments. During the tour, there will be a visit to Prague Castle (admission included). After that, enjoy a boat ride on the Vltava River (included). In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the city on your own.
day 12 - Prague, Munich, Innsbruck
We´ll depart early and head to Bavaria, Germany. We’ll arrive in Munich by midday, where you´ll have free time to stroll through the historic city center and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Austria. Upon arrival in the heart of the Alps, you´ll have time to explore Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. There will be time for dinner in the Golden Roof area and Old Town.
day 13 - Innsbruck, Salzburg
Today, we’ll visit the Swarovski Museum (admission included), the renowned home of crystals. We’ll explore its impressive gardens and learn how these exquisite crystal pieces are made. Next, you’ll have free time to stroll through the historic center of Innsbruck. Our journey will continue along scenic mountain roads until we reach Kitzbühel, a Tyrolean town famous for its ski resort where you can enjoy snow nearly yearround. This town hosts the legendary Hahnenkamm Race, one of the most prestigious and thrilling alpine skiing events in the world. We´ll reach Salzburg by the end of the day.
day 14 - Salzburg, Lake Traunsee, Vienna
Today, we’ll get to know Austria better. During the morning, we´ll explore Salzburg, Mozart’s city. Its Renaissance and Baroque center is filled with beauty, all in the shadow of the grand castle. Next, we’ll travel through lakes and mountains to reach St. Wolfgang, a renowned pilgrimage site in Austria. We’ll then head to Traunkirchen, located beside the beautiful Traunsee Lake, where we’ll take an included cruise to see four of the lake´s castles before disembarking in Gmunden. Afterward, we’ll continue to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
day 15 - Vienna
Today, we’ll embark on a panoramic tour of this impressive city with a local guide. We’ll explore its majestic avenues, beautiful palaces, large parks and vibrant city center. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore on your own. In the evening, we’ll include a transfer to the Grinzing district, an old winegrowing village now part of the city, known for its traditional taverns. You’ll have free time to dine in the area.
day 16 - Vienna
After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
