Excellent tour of Italy. Such a beautiful country! Our tour guide and driver were excellent as well. WE were very happy with our accommodations. We covered about 3200 kms. and visited many great cities, town, and villages. We liked the culture, food, and scenery. The Italian people are very gracious and happy to see visitors.

Itinerary was interesting and we had an excellent tour leader.

Great guide very informative, super friendly made the trip. Totally recommend. Accommodation was great,food also very good. Can't eat union's and a real effort was made to accommodate me.

The tour was wonderful however it would benefit from being 14 days and ending with the last night being in Venice. The tour leader Segio Leonardo was absolutely the best , knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining. The driver was also excellent and both made the tour the best.

Great Tour covering a lot of regions. We had the best Tour Leader in Danila and best bus driver in Fabio. Our group was amazing as well! Only downfall - Villa Pitiana

Excellent program, excellent driver excellent guide

This was our second Blue-Roads tour and we can’t recommend them more highly. Our Italian tour leader was exceptional as was the driver. We are currently on our 3rd tour which is proving to be as good as the others. The leaders are professional and caring as well as injecting humour and sensitivity. They are well informed in local features and we are very happy travellers.

Danila and Fabio were excellent. Professional, and did that little bit extra. I left something at a previous hotel and they retrieved tot for me during the tour.

Nice small group of 12, Fabio was a careful driver, Danila was an excellent leader and being Australian had a similar sense of humour as all the guests which made life easy

Our tour leader, Savario was great. Savario’s knowledge of the Italy and our destinations was amazing. He also went above and beyond to ensure everyone was ok. Individual issues were sorted without any fuss. Our driver Christian was also very good and we felt safe the entire time. He was also very proactive in helping with bags. Our only comment to Blue-Roads would be perhaps to review the hotels facilities such as air conditioning and availability of laundry facilities. The hotels overall were more 3 to 3 and a half star than 4. The itinerary destinations were fabulous, overall we had a great time. Yes we would recommend the tour.

Excellent itinarary,knowledgable and helpful tour leader.Will definitely choose Blue Roads again.So much nicer being on a mini coach and with a small group.Small towns we visited and the back roads scenery a real treat.

Danila was so good! Knowledge of locations and history very good. Tips on restaurant and toilet stops and everything in between 😉 team work with her and Fabio made things work👍 they made a group of strangers become friends and bond a wonderful 12 days in Italy. A country I’ve never been to and was a bit nervous how it would go. I’d like the recipe for the lemon cake from Fishermans Island🤞🏻👩🏻‍🍳 Pls

Our guide Danila was excellent and well supported by driver Fabio. We had a small group and everyone got on well. Danila has a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share her knowledge and experience with us.

From Rome To Venice and everywhere in between we were captivated by the beautiful scenery that we were immersed in with Back Roads Tours. The Italian Indugence Tour is certainly that!!!! Our guide Nico and driver Gaetano were excellent in every way. They shared so much knowledge and friendship during our time together. We met some incredible like-minded people on the tour which made it even more enjoyable. We have lifetime memories to treasure and a few giggles over some of the accomodation provided given that many hotels are very old and some in need of refurbishment. We would totally recommend this tour.

It was a great tour except for the pace. We would have like more free time and earlier arrival time at the motels with the option to attend the experiences. But overall, a great trip.

Great tour with guide Caterina who's knowledge and passion for the story of Italy was impeccable. The tour was reasonably paced but caters for a generally over 50 clientele (although Cat kept it fresh for those of us under 50). Accommodation was clean friendly and beautiful with spacious rooms, some with views and full ensuites. The food was amazing and the group size perfect.

Great paced tour with time to relax in between beautiful scenery & experiences

My wife Heather Pengelly who shared the holiday with me left a detailed review on behalf of us both. I iterate all she said so if you refer to her review then you have my thoughts on the Italian Indulgence Back Roads your. We both enjoyed the trip immensely & would recommend it to friends. Heather made a few suggestions where some improvements could be made but overall we were very happy. Our guide Nic was excellent as was our driver Gaetarno.

Good trip ,many outback roads to more remote towns worth the money.

Fantastic tour showing very different areas in Italy from the beautiful light of Tuscany, the intriguing towns of Lucca and Siena, the Ligurian Riviera, Lake Maggorie, to the breath taking Dolomites to the canals of Venice and everything in-between. Blue-Roads did it extremely well. Cant believe we saw so much but didn't seem to rushed to do it. No hesitation recommending this tour.

Absolutely loved everything about this tour including our wonderful Guide Danila and driver Fabio. Both were thoroughly professional, caring and knowledgeable. Program was great and hotels a high standard.

Excellent bus transport. Very good driver. The accommodation was overall 4 star, interesting and mostly suitable. Porter services for bags very much appreciated. A guide who was available and had reasonable knowledge of the area and useful recommendations for restaurants and laundromats. My criticism would be too often we were given free time in a town with little or no information about what you could do in the time except have a long lunch which as it was very hot was not an attractive option. You need to tell people where they will be and the timing so they can book things for themselves or include more booked experiences in the tour. Also DO NOT TAKE THE TOUR TO FLORENCE ON MONDAY WHEN EVERYTHING YOU WOULD GO TO FLORENCE TO SEE IS SHUT!!!! The day in Florence in a Monday was horrible and a completely wasted day.

This tour was just fabulous. Everything from the coach and driver, the accommodation and particularly our guide Daniele who always went above and beyond to ensure our tour group was happy. I couldn’t recommend this company and this particular tour more highly.

A marvellous tour with guide Sylvia and driver Biragio, who went above and beyond to host us. We had an excellent group of fellow travellers and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. A wonderful 12 days in northern Italy. The hotels can be a bit hit & miss but overall wonderful and that didn't affect our enjoyment of the trip. Thanks again to our amazing tour guide Sylvia, you're the best.

This tour was fabulous and certainly was ‘indulgent’. We wandered around many iconic sights of central, eastern and northern Italy, immersed in the diversity of food, wine/liquor, geography and culture with a great group of 12 fellow travellers. We went to many larger towns and villages we would not have discovered ourselves and drove along many country roads in true Back Roads style. Each day was unique and a highlight. The experiences and little treats provided by our tour leader were very enjoyable and fun. We particularly enjoyed Lucca, the truffle hunt, Borromean Islands, cooking class, ferry ride via Portofino, various wine tastings and stops in the beautiful little villages along the way. We were safely driven by our driver Balagio over the challenging roads and guided expertly by our tour leader Sylvia who made a great team to deliver a well organised tour and engaging experience. The hotels varied, some better than others but they were all well located close to the town centre or in spectacular locations. The days at the Tuscan villa in the countryside and Lake Maggiore were also highlights. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour had lots of different styles of activities, from city walks, boat rides on lakes to mountain vistas and group dinners. Our bus driver Fabio and tour guide extraordinaire Helio made sure we arrived on time, safely and with interesting information sprinkled between destinations. The tour suits people who can walk around in all weather conditions and enjoy interacting with other travelers. The days flew by, I would highly recommend this tour as all the hard work has already been done and you just have to enjoy yourself.

The Italian Indulgence tour was great value for money. I particularly enjoyed the small group size and variety of activities that were included in this tour. The hotels were all very clean and had excellent buffet breakfasts. It was important to me that they were situated in central locations so it was easy to walk into historic town centers. Our Tour Leader was Helio and he was professional and warm. We were so lucky to have him lead our tour group. We saw and learned so much on this tour and covered so much beautiful countryside in the safe hands of our driver Fabio.

Generally a well run, entertaining and relaxing tour. Only negative would be an awful night spent at a hotel in Sondrio - under new management who chose not to repair the building air conditioner. Highlights included the warm and engaging tour guide, Lucca and more generally, the Tuscany and Trentino regions.

The tour was amazing. The sights and scenery were beautiful and we got to see many of the iconic Italian must see sights. The tour was extremely well paced and gave us time to do our own exploring as well. The mini coach is ideal as we would not have seen as much with a larger coach as it would have been too big for some of the places we visited. The hotels were all very nice with some a bit better than others but the majority of the trip saw us stay in very nice hotels. The tour guide was brilliant and he made everyone feel welcome. We loved this tour and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to join a smaller group, (16 in total) to explore and enjoy the sights and tastes of Italy.

Tour Leader and Coach Driver did an amazing job highlighting a beautiful part of Italy. Tour felt a bit rushed mostly staying one night at locations. Biggest disappointment being the coach started the tour with the Air Conditioning not working correctly and for the 13 days the rear half of the coach felt like a sauna. NOT good enough for Blue-Roads to deliver.

Such a special tour of Italy, each day filled with unique italian sights, tastes and scenery delights. Loved our Tour Leader Beatrice and Driver Biagio who made our travel smooth and interesting. Highly recommend these local insightful tours.

The only disappointing thing on this tour was the bus appeared to need attention, as it broke down at one point, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly! However, our tour leader, Bea, and the driver did a great job!

Excellent, interesting tour, amazing scenery and visiting some wonderful places like Lucca my absolutely favourite place on the tour. We stayed in some really nice interesting hotels though I wasn’t that keen on Villa Pitiana in Tuscany. Lots of faded grandeur and an uncomfortable bed. I don’t mind old hotels at all but the bedroom I had at Villa Pitiana was gloomy and most unwelcoming and the bathroom was not great. The Villa was in need of major refurbishment and too far away from anything. I would have preferred three nights in Lucca to explore some more. A few people on the tour felt the same. I also really liked Rapallo and would have enjoyed more time there. Silvia was a wonderful guide.So knowledgeable, helpful and great personality. Our driver Gaetano was friendly and a skilful, safe driver. They made a great team.

It was a wonderful tour. Linda was very knowledgeable, fun and very friendly. It exceeded my expectations so much and I’ll be recommending the tour to my friends. The bus driver was excellent. The only thing that could be improved in my opinion was the first night dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Italian Indulgence tour. The itinerary was fabulous, the tour well paced, boutique hotels were all excellent and great breakfast served at each, professional safe driver, and an excellent tour guide all added up to a wonderful experience for everyone. Highly recommend.

The Italian Indulgence tour was amazing. We saw a wide range of outstandingly beautiful scenery from Tuscany to Portofino, the Italian lakes and the Dolomites. The places we visited were stunning and some of them, liked the beautiful old walled city of Lucca, would not have been on our list had we organised the trip ourselves. Accommodation ranged from good to excellent and meals and activities such as wine tastings and a truffle hunt were great. A real bonus was having our bags taken to and collected from our rooms which is not the case on many other tours. We can not speak highly enough of our cheerful driver, Fabio, and our guide, Saverio, who could was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make the whole trip easy and memorable. 10 out of 10

Most excellent small bus tour. Allowed us to get into places the big buses could not. Wonderful itinerary from Rome to Venice via the back roads when possible…. lovely Tuscany, the lake district, and the dolomites. Wine tasting, cooking class, and general touring with plenty of free time to explore on our own… fun, small hotels on the most part. A nice adventure. Also a delightful, personable and knowledgeable, Tour Guide and excellent driver. I highly recommend this tour and blue roads.

I loved this tour, and it is the first tour I have participated in. It was a great option for me as I don't speak Italian but love the food, wine and culture of Italy. The Tour took the worry factor away, I enjoyed every day!

Wonderful experience. We had an amazing guide and a great group. The sites were fantastic and the whole tour was incredibly well planned.

It was a memorable trip. Our tour guide Chiara was highly organised, considerate and told us fascinating stories of the history of every region we visited. The food and other experiences were brilliant and well timed. We were lucky enough to have a great group of fellow travelers. Our driver Fabio knew the roads like the back of his hands. We experienced diverse aspects of Italian culture and geography which was fascinating.

Nico our tour leader and Fabio our driver were a great team. Nico was caring and knowledgeable and nothing was ever too much trouble. Fabio drove us from coastal towns to mountains and everything in between. We always felt in safe hands with him at the wheel. A great holiday, visiting several regions of Italy and experiencing the history, culture , food and wine of each of them. The hands on activities that Blue-Roads include were good fun for the whole group. You see a lot and you do a lot. Would highly recommend.

I had a great time, met lots of lovely people and our tour guide, Chiara and driver, Fabio were fantastic. We went to some incredible places and had lots of local food and wine. Our accommodation was always very clean and comfortable.

This was our second Blue-Roads trip in the last two years, and we do recommend their tours to anyone who seeks a more authentic experience of the scenery and culture. Blue-Roads Tour guide and driver were excellent, which really enhanced the experience of new sights, food and drinks.

Best tour, great guide and driver. I met some lovely aussies as well. Magnificent scenery and well planned stops. This was my first ever tour group holiday and I loved it
