Pretty good tour; learnt so much about the history of the places visited; experienced amazing landscapes, sights. Guided tours were good and informative.
Tours by similar companies range in price, but I always feel that I get a honest fair price and accomodations from Expat Explore. This tour was exceptional for seaside accomodations, but you get what you pay for. So many memorable stops were chosen, with the right amount of time to explore them, either with a walking tour with a local ""guide"", as well as on your own, or both. I was surprised at the natural beauty of So. Italy (as well as Sicily), and historical significance going back to pre Roman times. This trip I will remember for a long time!
We really enjoyed the trip and the tour .
The tour guide Roma was amazing, so much information on the sites visited on the tour
Helpful Tour Guide and Bus Driver made the Tour a pleasure
The accommodations were not always perfect, however, Roma managed to lift our spirits and fill our hearts with the knowledge and appreciation of each location and made where we stayed irrelevant. This travel had a cohesiveness that existed because of respect and rapport that Roma built with each of us.
Amazing experience exploring mount Etna and the delicious wine and specialty dishes of Sicily.
Great way to experience the south of Italy and Sicily. Tour coach driver truly amazing …. how he could navigate around is something I would never want to do. The tour certainly takes in the highlights covering historical sites, food markets, exceptional shopping opportunities. All hotels are of a good standard and meals on tour very good. The highlight was the lunch included with the Mt Etna tour and the Palermo markets. Get ready to walk, swim, shop, eat and have some memorable moments.
Great itinerary. Victoria, Fillip and Moona were gave us lots of information on the cities we visited and advice on what we could do in our free time. The optional tour of Mt Etna and lunch at a winery was a highlight for me. Our driver Matteo was very competent especially on all those hairpin bends on narrow roads!
Amazing adventure and education at the same time despite the global heat wave impacting travelers. Guide us absolutely knowledgeable and attentive, yet, fun!
A good combination of guided tours and free time.
Fabio was a great tour guide. He was always a step ahead of us on all of our travel. If he saw a snag in the plans he had it fixed before we even knew there was one. He showed us the most wonderful high lights of Italy. We always felt safe as women traveling. The hotels were clean. He also was able to keep the group on time. I love Expatexplore because it takes us to all the highlights of the areas we are traveling. The hotels are clean and safe and you do all the driving!!!! I am already planning my next trip.
The Southern Italy tour was as advertised. The tour leader worked hard to provide a quality experience, despite several difficult participants.
I had a great time on this trip. Let me just say that it was kind of strange joining a tour that was already underway as our Southern Italy tour joined another longer Italian tour that had started about a week before hand so there were some ""clicks"" that had already developed. For the most part, everyone on the tour was nice. The tour leader was approachable and very informative. Our bus driver was very nice. I felt very safe at all of the places that we traveled too. There were times when there were issues with the wifi but that is something that just happens at times. I have food allergies and the company was able to accommodate them. One thing about Italy is that there are a ton of hills, everyone says that and it is so true so just be advised that there is a lot of walking up hills. The only thing that i would change is that i wish that they had a time where they built in time into the schedule where you could just spend some relaxing time on the beach.
I really enjoyed the 10-day Highlights of Southern Italy and Sicily tour! The places we visited are the ones I'd love to see for the first time and re-visited other places I'd already been to but wouldn't mind going back to those places again. Seeing places for the second time gives me a different perspective and experience as well. While there were one or two places I felt the visits were quick (Matera and Alberobello) and a place where I believe the stop was quite long (Taormina), they were still very good experience and I really enjoyed these beautiful places. I'm already thinking of going back to Matera and Alberobello. Our tour leader was really good and helpful. The local tour guides too have exceptional knowledge of their local areas. Another highlight of this tour for me was the optional Mt Etna with lunch at the Enoteca Dell'Etna. Even though we didn't get to the top of Mt Etna because of increased activity in the volcano the day before, we still had a great day exploring and climbing the inactive craters at the foot of Mt Etna and just admiring the beautiful sceneries. And the wine and food tasting that followed at Enoteca Dell'Etna was perfect to finish the day tour. The food and wine were so good. I highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour leader and driver, nothing was too much trouble. Scenery was spectacular and the experiences, such as mt etna and isle of capri were outstandind. Would highly recommend.
Vivian was knowledgeable, friendly, easy to understand, and caring. She was on top of everything. And Matteo, our bus driver, was extraordinary! The trip through Southern Italy and Sicily was surprisingly comprehensive and the hotels were very nice.
As usual for expat explore, a full itinerary of exciting and interesting places. This is my 3rd time with expat and I loved it. I would definitely like to do the northern Italy tour at some point.
Shabby our tour leader was nothing short of excellent. She provided everything for some 45+ travellers requirements. The tour was well structured with free time a bonus.
Our tour guide Shabby was the glue that held this tour together. She kept the trip upbeat and happy . Her local knowledge and tips were outstanding . Information always clear .
