Loved the selection of places visited, interesting and varied.
Super interesting and informative. Our tour guide, was excellent, both in her knowledge and her organization skills. We saw so many places we would never have seen in spite of the unbearably hot temperatures. Walking in the heat proved a challenge but the tour was well worth it
The hotels and buses were terrific, our bus driver amazingly skilled at navigating tight spots, and our tour guide was fun and informative. We enjoyed seeing the popular places in Rome and the Amalfi Coast while also having some down time in smaller towns with great history and culinary opportunities.
Easy paced tour nice food and good accommodation
Coverage of the Vatican was light without entrance to St. Peter’s or the Sistine Chapel, due to the recent election of a new Pope. But, touring the Pantheon, the Colloseum, Borghese Gardens, Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain made up for it. Alberobello, with its Truli houses, was fascinating. Matera was amazing, and our visit to Polignano a Mare was a dream. The highlight of the tour for me was the boat tour around the Island of Capri. There are no words to describe the beauty. And Positano was the icing on the cake.
We enjoyed all of the places we visited.
Needs one more day in Sorrento. Do Positano a different day.
Great itinerary; however, the stop for a viewpoint looking out over the Ionian Sea did not have much appeal. Accommodations were wonderful except for the hotel in Matera. Our group was not able to stay in the MH Matera as planned. The one we stayed in was just average compared to the rest. I was disappointed. Otherwise, a wonderful trip. Thank you Insight Vacations!
Great itinerary for first time visit to Italy. I loved the time in Sorrento,Capri,Positano!
Tour was comfortable and people were great. Some of the towns were not that interesting. Would like to have seen more in the way of historic sites. Pompei was great and so was Rome. Did not like the Rome hotel. The location was fine but the hotel was not that comfortable.
The sites were very interesting. I think there needed to be more free time on the tour. We did choose many of the options which might’ve interfered with having free time. Some of these included tours we had done before. At that time, it seemed to be a bit more relaxed, and we had more time to explore on our own. Some of the optional experiences seem to be one on top of the other. In summary the itinerary was good overall, just needs a bit of tweaking.
The tour itinerary is well planned and relax. In my opinion , certain itinerary items like the visit to Vatican Square should include entry to the Vatican Cathedral with priority entry. Secondly I think some optional visits should be included in the itinerary , for example , the optional Amalfi coast/ Positano & Polignano visits should be included visits in the itinerary..
Sorrento and amalfi coast should be part of the base itinerary instead of an optional excursion . Puglia , Ravello should be included if additional day is needed
Covered almost everything I had on my list. Alberobello, Matera and Pompei were absolute highlights. Optional dinners were very similar - first 2-3 need to be more varied menu - they were basically the same. I would have liked a seafood option! Last one in St Agita was exceptional! Pity only half travellers opted for the group dining. Those of us that went, had a great time. Free time was not long enough. Need to add a couple extra days, and extend your to allow for more free time. Felt like it was rushed a little, and were on the go all day, every day. Wine tasting was very rushed. It was a commercial entity and it was clear they had another sitting directly behind us, so we were served samples like every 5 minutes, no explanation of the wine - felt we had to chug it back and scoff and get out. Would have been better spending our money in one of the villages that day and having more time there.
Nice tour and excellent tour leader-
There is a lot of walking, and a lot of uneven surfaces because of the time period it was built in. Also expect crowds in the big areas like Rome. Over all the places we went was incredible and the history so amazing.
