This trip was excellent because of the tour guide. has a passion for travel and a vest knowledge about Italy. He was able to share that information to our group in a casual and friendly manner. I would love to book another trip with if I knew in advance what tours he was doing. I have tried to call Trafalgar to ask about tour guides and they say they do not know who is doing the tour until right before the tour starts. I do not think this is true.
I did not enjoy the local tour guides. We went to a small town that I would have loved to just walk around because we only had a couple hours and instead the tour guide just talked and talked and we were not able to enjoy the local shops or restaurants. I would have left the tour but I did not want to appear rude.
One complaint I have is that there were no English television stations in any of the hotels. In this day of Satellites and computers and chips, I would think they would be able to put some American channels in the hotels because there are many American tourists in Italy.
