day 1Ballestas Islands and Paracas Reserve | Wildlife Cruise and Coastal Exploration

Arrive at the Paracas local office at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. The day begins at 8:00 am with a boat trip past the Candelabro, a large geoglyph etched onto the cliffs of the Paracas peninsula. You will continue by boat to the Ballestas Islands, where your guide will share information about the rock formations and the ecosystems found here. During the cruise, you can observe sea lions sunbathing, Humboldt penguins along the shore, and seabirds such as boobies, guanay, cormorants, and zarcillos overhead.
After returning to Paracas, you will have free time from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on El Chaco Boulevard. You can stroll along the waterfront, browse handicraft shops, or relax in the coastal atmosphere before regrouping.
At 12:00 pm, you will depart for the Paracas National Reserve. The first stop is “La Catedral,” a natural rock formation shaped by wind and sea erosion. Next, you will visit Playa Roja, known for its red sands and ocean views. The tour continues to Lagunillas, a fisherman’s cove where you can relax and have time to try local seafood at beachfront restaurants. The day concludes with your return to the starting point at approximately 3:00 pm.
The Candelabro geoglyph is one of the largest in Peru and its origin and purpose remain subjects of debate among researchers.

Maras Moray – Salineras Maras and Moray 1 Day Tour

This six-hour, guided, group tour will take you to two Inca highlights around Cusco. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at 8:00 am and drive you through the mountains to Moray, the first destination of this trip. Once there, you will get the chance to learn more about the importance of this place and its function in the Inca era while taking some amazing photos. Located on a high plateau around 50 kilometres outside Cusco, Moray consists of several terraced, circular depressions along with an irrigation system and is said to have been used as an agricultural laboratory by the Incas. Next, we will take to the town of Maras where you can see Spanish, colonial-style architecture. But more than that, Maras is famous for its salinas, or salt ponds. Take in the sight of more than 3,000 salt ponds dug down a canyon in terraces. These ponds are still being maintained and exploited by the local population. It is time to return to Cusco after you are done seeing the two highlights. The transport will drop you off at the city centre (Cusco's main square) at 2:00 pm. However, if you have booked the optional private transport with us, we will drop you off at your hotel in the city.

We will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Cusco at 8:00 am, or any time before 13:00 hrs, whichever is suitable for you, and take the northwest route out of the city. *Optionally we can add the visit to Chinchero or Ollantaytambo for no extra cost. However, if you decide not to go for the options, we will head for the famous terraces of Moray which looks like an enormous amphitheater spiraling structures that was site to an Inca laboratory. Continue your drive to the town of Maras where you can see the salt flats that have been used to produce salt since days before the Incas. After that, we will drive you back to your hotel in Cusco or drop you off in the Sacred Valley depending upon your suggestion. Please note that entrance fees to the sites are not included in the tour price and have to be paid by travelers themselves.
