Excellent itinerary and hotel staff attentive.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. I experienced the Amalfi Coast in a much more intimate setting yet seeing much much more of the coast than I ever anticipated, thanks to our excellent and caring guide, Gennaro. The hikes were challenging but Gennaro was excellent in helping me to adjust to the pace that I needed. The views everyday were well worth the amount of steps I had to climb. The hotel staff was excellent and nice to have a quiet town to return to each evening away from the large tourist crowds in each town.
Our Amalfi hike was absolutely unforgettable, thanks to our amazing tour guide Gennaro! His deep knowledge of the area, warm personality, and perfect pacing made the experience both enjoyable and enriching. The views and the landscape… marvelous! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast!
This was a fantastic holiday. The Amalfi coast is beautiful and fascinating! Our tour leader, Gennaro, was very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm about the area and was a pleasure to spend time with. The hotel was lovely and the family who run it were very friendly and helpful.
The organisation was efficient, the hotel was basic but clean, with friendly staff. The food was average, with limited choice. The pizza demonstration was fun, as was the pasta making. The itinerary was demanding, with three very early starts, although the reasons for that were explained.
Food and pack lunch menu need improvement specially for gluten free and dairy intolerant people. Accommodation must provide kettle in rooms for tea & coffee. The hotel didn’t allow us to have hot drinks before the breakfast time which was quite disappointing as some of us love to have our morning tea in bed
Gaia, was an amazing guide!! Very knowledgeable and informative, very upbeat and funny, she was a breath of fresh air, I looked forward to daily hikes and what the day entails, she had a great attitude to get all of the best out of all the hiker’s every day. She is treasure for the Explore travel team. Thanks for a wonderful visit to one of the most amazing places in the world.
A superb location and some stunning scenery on the walks. Our guide Gaia was fun and informative and made sure that all the group enjoyed the holiday. She was great. If you have difficulty with steps this is not the holiday for you !
This tour was fantastic! First and foremost was our exceptional guide Gennaro Pisacane - his knowledge of the region was extensive and passion for the Amalfi region was palpable. He was also a true seasoned professional, accommodating any requests or special needs effortlessly and without impacting the rest of the group. The pizza evening at the Risorgimento and pasta making at the Agriturismo were highlights of the trip and well worth participating in. The hikes were breathtaking and be sure to bring hiking shoes and poles - you will need them! The hotel Risorgimento was simply appointed but situated in a lovely spot. The only suggestion I would make is having fewer dinners at the hotel (there aren't a lot of meal choices and I'd have love a few more salad options :).
Lovely walks and sensibly amended to cater for weather conditions. Gennaro was an excellent guide - it was good to hear about the area from someone whose family have lived there for generations.
Amalfi coast is definitely something to see before you die ( with Explore or otherwise). The best of south Mediteranean 'La vita e bella' feeling exhudes all around. The pinacle is Capri island, unsurprisingly widely popular among Holywood stars. Details: ITINERARY : excellent. The routes are well paced, and well chosen, to enjoy the best of the beautiful costal walks. Some views breathtaking. With a well balanced combination of nature and touristic attraction focus. One 'free' day to enjoy Pompei and Heraculaneum - really worth seeing both in one's lifetime (The best prerved Roman ancient cities, a real feel how ancient life was 2000 years ago ) ACCOMODATION - average ( we stayed in Hotel Risorgimento) A bit stuffy and tired, I would say MEALS - average. I have to say I did suffer a bit with the daily pasta, pizza and risotto. I was surprised to notice how scarce in vegetables the 'traditional' Italian restaurant menu is. Low in protein, low in fibre, rich in carbohydrate! :-( For a health conscious person, sub-standard. However in the context of everything else manageable for a week. Having said that I have to add: the home made pizza was de-lici-ous. The best pizza ever in my life. PRICE - value for money: ok. You have to add at least £250 for the trip which includes 'optional' add ons: pizza demo, tagilatele demo, Pompei entrance, bus trip. These are optional but everyone did them all. I would say that Pompei is a must; the pizza and pasta demos are optional GUIDE - amazing. Mateo is funny, sociable, personable, accomodating for everyone and has a high sense of responsiblity and awareness of every participant. I think he met everyone's needs.
I would highly recommend the Hotel Risorgimento, walking tour. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, but spacious, light, airy and very clean. The food was good, and very happy to adapt if needed. The walks were great, very different every day and our guide Sati was wonderful, full of local knowledge and wit! The village was ideal to stay in, away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, with a good few restaurants to choose from when you had a free evening. You get to cover a fair bit of the Amalfi Coast in 6 days.
Sati was a wonderful guide who showed us things only a local could. She explained culture and tradition of the area, and was always friendly and upbeat. Our itinerary took us to lovely spots and was the perfect amount of hiking and sightseeing. The hotel room was comfortable, but the shower was small and rooms near the terrace could be loud. The pizza and pasta at the hotel were delicious, but the fish and breakfast left a little to be desired. Service at the hotel was excellent.
Very enjoyable holiday. Our guide was local and really shared his love of the area and its history. The trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum was well organised with a knowledgeable guide. Transport too and from the walks always on time. The extra pasta and pizza evenings were very entertaining. In all, a perfect mix.
The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant made very good food and accommodated my strict vegetarian diet. They always greeted us with warm smiles.
Gennaro was an excellent guide who went above and beyond to support the group
