Itinerary
Travel from the legendary Santiago de Compostela to vibrant Madrid on this eight-day journey through Spain’s diverse regions. Discover the scenic Rías Baixas coastline and taste fresh mussels in O Grove before heading inland to historic León and elegant Salamanca. Explore Córdoba’s magnificent Mosque–Cathedral, Seville’s lively streets and flamenco spirit, and Granada’s Moorish masterpiece, the Alhambra. End your adventure in Toledo, a city steeped in medieval charm, before returning to Madrid. With guided tours, cultural gems and striking landscapes, this trip offers a captivating look at Spain’s history, flavours and soul.
day 1 - Arrival in Santiago de Compostela
Arrive at your hotel independently. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Santiago de Compostela.
day 2 - Coastal Beauty of the RÃas Baixas
Santiago - Vigo. After breakfast, we depart for the scenic Rías Baixas region, often called the Spanish Fjords, known for its striking coastal landscapes. We pause briefly on La Toja Island before continuing to O Grove, where you may join an optional catamaran cruise to visit oyster and mussel farms, including a tasting of fresh mussels paired with Ribeiro wine.We then continue to Vigo for some free time to explore at your leisure, with an optional excursion available to Santa Tecla. Overnight stay in Vigo.
day 3 - Journey to Historic León
Vigo - Leon. Following breakfast, we travel inland towards Castilla y León, arriving in the historic city of León. With its impressive Gothic cathedral and charming old quarter, León offers plenty to discover during your free time. Dinner and overnight stay in León.
day 4 - Salamanca and Arrival in Madrid
Leon - Madrid. After breakfast, we set off for Salamanca. Enjoy a brief stop and some free time to explore the old town, famed for its beautiful Baroque-style Plaza Mayor. We then continue on to Madrid for an overnight stay.
day 5 - Madrid to Andalusia
Madrid - Cordoba - Seville. Breakfast at the hotel before travelling through the plains of La Mancha to Córdoba. On arrival, we take a guided tour of the city, visiting the magnificent Mosque–Cathedral and the atmospheric Jewish Quarter. We then continue to Seville, where dinner and accommodation await.
day 6 - The Sights and Sounds of Seville
This morning, we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Seville, visiting María Luisa Park, the impressive Plaza de España, and viewing the exterior of the city’s magnificent Cathedral with its renowned bell tower, La Giralda. We also explore the charming Santa Cruz district, known for its narrow lanes, flower-filled squares, and lively atmosphere.
In the afternoon, you may choose to take an optional cruise along the Guadalquivir River to admire panoramic views of the Torre del Oro and the Expo ’92 site, or visit the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, an optional flamenco show offers a memorable taste of Andalusian culture.
day 7 - The Majesty of Granada
Seville - Granada. After breakfast, we travel to Granada. On arrival, we take a guided tour of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the stunning Alhambra Palace – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and the beautiful Generalife Gardens, once the summer residence of the Nasrid rulers. Dinner and overnight stay in Granada.
You may also choose an optional evening excursion to the caves of Sacromonte to experience a traditional gypsy flamenco performance.
Please Note:If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on your chosen dates, an alternative tour of Granada will be provided, including visits to the Palace of Charles V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, and a walk through the Alcaicería (old silk market) and Cathedral Square.
day 8 - Toledo and Return to Madrid
Breakfast and departure towards Toledo, the Imperial City and a living museum of Spain’s rich history. After lunch, we enjoy a panoramic view from the Mirador del Valle, followed by a guided walk through the old town’s winding streets and impressive monuments.
We then continue to Madrid, where our tour concludes.
