day 9 - Journey Home
Bid a fond farewell to your newfound friends and an epic experience as you depart from Rome.
The itinerary began in Rome. There was a group dinner at a mediocre restaurant (disappointing). No group introductions so pretty much had to make our own. ventured on to Montecatini the following morning after a coach tour of Rome and a brief stop in Vatican City. The following days were spent touring Tuscany and were enjoyable. We had to make our optional tour reservations after we arrived to begin tour. In my opinion we should have been able to do this BEFORE we arrived. It was a needless distraction.
Our tour director, Marina, was WONDERFUL. Our coach driver, Marco, was also great!
The good by dinner was nice.

The rome and Tuscan Highlights was excellent trip to Italy for us as first time Europe travelers, were 8 days of excitement and good memories. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary. The travel director did a small celebration for us, it was memorable. I definitely recommend Trafalgar to all my friends and relatives. Amazing tour!

Day trips from one central location sounds good, but time on the bus each day was considerable, and the standard of the hotel for 6 nights was not up to 4 star standard as advertised. Our room had no natural light and was small. A tour that moves from one location to another with more time in each location would be preferable. More time in Rome would have rounded off this tour better.

It gave you a very well organized experience of the Tuscany region. The scenery, the small medieval towns, beautiful cathedrals, art work, vineyards it was just wonderful. It left me wanting to come back in the future and spend more time in the areas I particularly liked.
