Greek Island Wanderer

This trip was a good introduction to Greece, the islands and the ferry system. There was a good mix of organized activities and free time for exploration. The guide went out of her way to make sure everyone had options, geared to their interests and abilities. I enjoy walking/hiking, and there was plenty of opportunity to do that along breathtaking scenery. Overall, a great trip!

This was a great tour with the right mixture of planned activities, optional activities and free time. The walks on each of the islands were a highlight - the scenery inland was just as spectacular as the coast. Our tour leader Peter was knowledgeable, supportive and fun. We had a great group too!

A great way to see some Greek islands and Athens. There is a fair amount of free time on this tour especially if not doing the optional walks and boat trips so I would recommend doing some research beforehand on things to do or places to visit to make the most of your trip.

Explore are really excellent. Our flight with EasyJet was cancelled as we were about to leave for Bristol airport at 4.00am on Sunday. EasyJet offered us an alternative flight two days later which would mean missing our walking group completely as we were island hopping. We rang the Explore Duty Manager who managed to sort out a new flight from London. His quick actions saved our holiday.

I’ve been with Explore many times, and this trip was right up there, Fotis the tour leader was so enthusiastic and we all became good friends, one of the best.

A fab holiday. An interesting time in Athens, really loved it so much to see and do from ancient to modern. A great time island hopping with Peter our leader at the helm. Nothing was too much trouble for him to sort out when needed, so thank you. All the islands visited were very different and our escorted walks very invigorating. Travelled with a lovely group so had a great time.

Some of the walks were proper hikes rather than walks. But the itinerary is really flexible so there are loads of other things to do if some of the walks are too hard. Excellent tour

This was a wonderful trip. Our tour leader, Christos was outstanding. The walks were beautiful.

Beautiful places and weather. We enjoyed a very wide range of activities eg swimming from beaches and boats as well as the hotel pools; walking across the interior of several islands and visiting ancient archaeological sites.

A very enjoyable tour. Interesting and varied sights. A number of optional extras that could be booked. I took the Greek cooking class which was good fun and good food. Our tour leader was diligent and knowledgeable. For me, the highlight was the boat trip to the the island of Delos.

This holiday exceeded all my expectations. Our group of 9 bonded really well, thanks to the work of the tour leader. We stayed on 4separate Greek islands and travelled through them to the interiors aswell as the stunning coasts. We were introduced to local island culture as in wineries, olive presses, cooking lessons and boat trips. We learnt about the history of the ancient Greeks and were given options to visit sites such as the Acropolis and Akrotiri. Two weeks went so quickly. I would go back in an instant.

Our guide Peter was simply great! I liked the variety of experiences. As a very small group (only 3 guests) Peter was able to customize to a certain extent and did it very well! His knowledge of the history, the locations, even the plant life was incredible. We had a wonderful time.

We had a great time. Our group was much smaller than we expected. But, our guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we saw a did everything we wanted.

Greek Island Wanderer was a brilliant experience curated by Peter, one of the best, knowledgeable and caring guides ever. Highlights for me were the contrasting islands and walks, the ferry journeys and my energetic fellow group members!!!

Greek Island Wanderer is fabulous tour. It is a chance to explore some of the lesser known islands, as well as the famous Santorini. The walks are all excellent. Although not long they can be a little tricky in places so ensure you have good trainers with a decent grip or walking shoes. We had Peter as our tour leader and he is definitely one of the best. It is a nice relaxed tour with a good bit of variety. I would definitely recommend.

A very varied and enjoyable holiday.The tour leader (Peter) was unfailingly helpful and approachable, and extremely knowledgeable.All the islands had their own character and the island tours enabled us to appreciate that.A very good balance of group activities and free time.

Great mix of touring and free time. Accommodation generally acceptable except the village on Paros which was never a 3 star hotel. Poor breakfast and bland rooms with poor WiFi connectivity. Tour leader Sapfo was excellent, helpful, knowledgeable and interested in her clients wellbeing and enjoyment.

This was my first Explore trip and it was so much fun! We went for a hike nearly every morning, stayed in 5 locations and traveled to 6 islands. Wonderful memories and new friendships were created.

Can’t say enough about our tour guide Christos. He led our group professionally and meticulously. Executing his best to cater for the group dynamic and did an amazing job.. I enjoyed the hikes (with some of there challenges) and all the excursions immensely. The islands visited were aesthetically beautiful in the way of nature and scenery. The cooking class was a lot of fun as we interacted, laughed and achieved very delicious meals. Only wish there were a few more single people around my age. Aside from that the group was awesome and mostly friendly.. Christos you are a legend and will go a long way!

Byron was a great tour leader. He helped us find restaurants each night and explained the dishes. On the walks he considered every walkers needs and assisted where required. A little more knowledge on the plants would have been useful. The pace was moderate with some free time. The optional activities were good.

Greek Island Wanderer was just as described in the itinerary. Every day was fun packed and busy. The hikes we did were amazing but there was always an alternative if you didn't feel like hiking. The extra trips were fun Our leader Christos, was amazing. He was knowledgeable and very helpful with any problem that arose. This is a great way to explore the Greek Islands and I would highly recommend .
