We hadn't been to Spain or Portugal before, and all we knew about them was stuff we learned in school years ago. Luckily, Elena, our young, lively tour guide and "mother" for the trip, taught us history at the right time and gave us all the information we needed as we went. The people on the train were friendly and interesting. They came from many different countries and cultures and were between the ages of 18 and 72, with most being in their 60s. Most of them were from Australia, Canada, and the United States. Elena quickly made us all feel like we were part of one happy family.
We felt safe and well cared for the whole journey, which is important travelling overseas. Some days were long drives but that's what's required to get to see different places.Accommodation was good. The coach was comfortable and the wifi worked well. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.
The itinerary was well-balanced with enough free time to explore on our own. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate about their respective cities, which added so much to the experience. The accommodations were generally good, with the Lisbon hotel standing out as particularly comfortable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a deep dive into the culture and history.
The blend of guided tours and personal time was perfect. I particularly loved the day in Seville; the city's vibrancy was contagious! The hotels were mostly great, with Porto being my favorite stop. I appreciated the professionalism of the staff and how smoothly everything ran. A must-do for anyone interested in the Iberian Peninsula.
Very good good trip. But there are long drives. The tour director Maria was eager for us to experience all that we could from our trip. We loved it. Some of the hotels were very average at best. We recommend you to upgrade it. The food was also not as good as we were expecting. Overall, great value for money.
An amazing journey through Portugal and Spain. Due to the amount of walking involved, make sure you pack light. Along with spending a great time with like-minded people, you'll learn a lot about Spain and Portugal!
The guide Maria and the driver Jaime very good, always attentive patients. Time is short especially in Cordoba. Lisbon hotels lack cleanliness in the rooms and lack maintenance in the elevators
Eskapas was an excellent trip! They took care of all the tedious parts of traveling, including booking all accommodation and transportation, leaving me with lots of free time to organize all the exciting activities I wanted to do in each place. The tour guide was excellent in pointing out to us the best places in the area and responding to all of our inquiries.
Our Spring tour offered a very good variety of places in Portugal and Spain with plenty of time to explore the attractions we wanted to see, even though it was a little colder than we had anticipated. Off-season sightseeing combined with a good guide resulted in slightly shorter lineups for us, as well as easier transportation and fewer overworked hotel staff. Senior travelers should be advised that this itinerary, especially in Portugal, calls for a reasonable level of fitness.
These days, it's the sole option for travel. Just get yourself there and back, and the tour guide will take care of the rest. That's about all you have to do. Being able to go with someone who handles all of the domestic travel and speaks Portuguese and Spanish fluently is extremely comforting. You have nothing to worry about other than following him. It's fantastic.
It was a fantastic introduction to Portugal and Spain. In addition to seeing several of the most well-known locations, we were able to travel through some lowkey areas. The scheduled activities, like as seeing the Alhambra, were excellent, and the pace was good. The balance between group activities and free time was excellent. We were able to walk to a lot of the attractions because the hotels were in great locations. Diego was the ideal guide; her expertise and positive attitude made the trip even more enjoyable.
So amazing! An adventure from the start. It's not too slow or too fast, just the right amount of both. Our tour guide was great. He did a lot of things that was not on the itinerary. He also took us on a lunch in Madrid, which was one of the best parts.
We booked with a first class hotel... everything was very good except for Seville... that hotel was not good... Food was average at the hotels.
The guide Maria and the driver Jaime very good, always attentive patients. Time is short especially in Cordoba. Lisbon hotels lack cleanliness in the rooms and lack maintenance in the elevators
