After breakfast, set off on a truly unique half-day walking tour of La Paz — guided by one of the city’s iconic lustra botas (shoe-shiners). Meet your guide at the historic La Paz train terminal, and begin your journey by boarding the Red Line cable car, soaring over the city’s dramatic topography with panoramic views. Disembark near the main cemetery, where the tour begins with a glimpse into local customs and memorial traditions. From there, wander through the city’s bustling markets, including the vibrant Fish Street Market, the fragrant Flower Market, and the lively Uruguay Market, teeming with exotic animals, produce, and traditional foods. Continue along Eloy Salmón Street, the go-to place for electronics, before heading to the Cholitas Market, where traditionally dressed Aymara women shop for layered skirts, shawls, and blankets. Optional: City Tour And Valley of The Moon
La Paz, one of the Seven Wonder Cities of The World, is in a valley of the foothills of the Andes Range 3,632m/11,942 ft. above sea level. The tour will take you through the street markets which are rich in handicrafts, weavings, and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city including the San Francisco Church, the Gold Museum, the Murillo Square, the viewpoint "Mirador de Killi Killi", and the outdoor replica of the Tiwanaku Temple. Then you will descend to the more modern, southern part of La Paz, to visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion. You will get the opportunity to ride a cable car* “Teleférico” (not included), which is an excellent way to enjoy the breathtaking views of La Paz.
