Cycling along the Ionian and Adriatic coasts
Viewing typical trulli in Alberobello and the surrounding countryside
Discovering the ancient cities of Gallipoli and Leece
Enjoying the local delicacies including olive oil, fresh vegetables and wine
Exploring the Puglia region which is largely unspoiled by tourism
Cycle beneath southern Italy’s Mediterranean sun on the "Cycle Puglia" private tour. Over eight moderate-activity days, experienced travelers and seniors will traverse vineyards, olive groves, and ancient towns from Alberobello’s iconic Trulli houses to Lecce’s baroque splendor. The route hugs both the Ionian and Adriatic coasts, revealing lesser-known gems and seaside vistas. With stays in atmospheric hotels—including a traditional Trulli—this self-guided bicycle trip delivers a rich taste of Puglia’s unique heritage and natural beauty. The stand-out feature? An off-the-beaten-path cycling holiday that fuses culture, coastal scenery, and authentic Italian hospitality.
Stress-Free tour with excellent accommodation, luggage transfers that was always waiting for us the end of the day. Scenery was unforgettable, people along the way were welcoming and most spoke English although we did try.
Luggage transport was good. Breakfasts choices provided by the hotels was not good as they didn’t either have suitable choices or enough of the right choices for people riding 50 to 60 k a day.
Loved it.
We thoroughly enjoyed this ride. Ancient olive groves, vineyards, lovely Trulli houses, beautiful wildflowers and then a scenic coastline. The e-bikes were excellent as some days were hilly and we had some headwinds. Accommodation was varied and of good standard.
It was a fantastic trip. The trip was really well planned with the route following quiet country roads where possible. The Puglia region is stunning. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
Our ride through Puglia was amazing!! Every day was a little different and we were very happy with the quiet country lanes and roads, sometimes only seeing a handful of cars using. We had ebikes and we found them to be very robust and adequate. They were very well organized and we found them excellent to deal with.
This trip was excellent. It was everything that was stated in the detail. Value for money!
Once on the ground in Italy everything went very smoothly. However the experience from booking to starting the trip was less than satisfactory.
What a great way to explore Puglia - though the coastal part of the journey was much more interesting with lots of opportunities of swimming in the azure blue sea.
Excellent route, communication, logistics.
The Puglia trip was well organised and well mapped. Most of the routes were scenic, traffic free with good surfaces. Plenty of opportunity for swimming from day 3 onwards.
Puglia is an excellent destination for a cycling holiday- quiet roads lined with dry stone walls and spectacular coastal scenes. Bikes were good with terrific back up help when needed.
A great way to see some of the beautiful scenery in Puglia.
Great experience, awesome introduction to this part of Italy. Varied countryside and coastline. Worth deviating off the main track at times to visit special and remote places. Best to do this when it's not too hot and not too busy.
This was a great ride through Puglia and it's beautiful towns and coastline. We were a little surprised at the route as it took us on main roads quite a lot of the ride with a fair bit of traffic so not for the faint hearted as the Italians are not particularly careful when passing. We really enjoyed seeing this part of Italy.
We had a fabulous trip. Everything went smoothly. The bikes were fine, the accommodation was excellent. Most of the rides were brilliant. Only the landscapes of the 70km day were "oversold". The information and the app provided were very good. We didn't need any support but, we heard from one person who did that it was provided very quickly. Thankyou for such a lovely experience.
Excellent bikes, luggage transfers all worked well, scenery superb.
I absolutely loved my self guided tour in Puglia, Italy. The accommodations were wonderful (we did not upgrade). I received support immediately when needed and a new bike after my back tire spoke broke. Loved the trip and will do another!
Stunning 6 days cycling, mixture of pleasant countryside and beautiful cliff top views, crystal clear water and then classic old Italian towns with cobbled streets and nice osterias. Cycling was definitely doable for a relative non cyclist, especially with an e bike!
Fun trip with my daughter. We loved riding the small quiet backroads… and walking the streets of the old towns to find a restaurant at night.
