Itinerary
SELF-GUIDED: Experience an 8-day tour along the Portuguese Camino from Tui to Santiago de Compostela. Explore Tui’s historic Old Town, cathedral, and riverside views before beginning your walk. Trek through Ribadelouro, Redondela, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis, and Padrón, passing lush forests, vineyard valleys, and historic bridges. Each stage offers a mix of rural charm and scenic beauty. The journey concludes with a rewarding arrival at Santiago’s iconic cathedral, marking the end of this unforgettable pilgrimage.
day 1 - Santiago to Tui
Santiago de Compostela - Tui. Upon arrival in Santiago de Compostela, Make your way to the city of Tui. The city is renowned for its rich historical and artistic heritage. You can visit the Old Town, explore the Cathedral, and walk across the International Bridge linking Spain and Portugal. You can also take the opportunity to visit nearby Valença do Minho.

day 2 - Crossing the Miño River and Climbing to Ribadelouro
Tui - O Porrino. Today is one of the most challenging yet scenic stages of the route. You begin by crossing the Miño River before climbing towards Ribadelouro. While much of the trail winds through paved, urban areas and can feel longer than it is, you can choose a signposted alternative through the tranquil As Gándaras Natural Park for a more nature-filled experience.
Please note: You must leave your luggage in the lobby at each hotel or hostel by 8 AM. It will be transferred to your next stop, so you won’t need to carry it during the trek.

day 3 - Challenging Climbs from O Porriño to Redondela & Cesantes
O Porrino - Redondela & Cesantes. This morning, you face a stage with some challenging climbs, but the stunning scenery makes it worthwhile. Youreach the charming town of Mons before beginning your first ascent towards Alto de Inxertado. From the summit, you start your descent to Redondela, taking in the views along the way.

day 4 - Journey Along the Ría de Vigo to Pontevedra
Redondela & Cesantes - Pontevedra. Today, you set off towards Setefontes and the coastal town of Arcade, renowned for its oysters. Your journey continues along the Ría de Vigo, winding through lush forests until you will reach the historic Bridge of Sampaio en route to Pontevedra.

day 5 - A Gentle Walk Through Villages to Caldas de Reis
Pontevedra - Caldas de Reis. Today you will set out on a gentle and pleasant route, leaving behind any rough terrain to enjoy a mostly flat and easy stage. As you make your way towards Caldas de Reis, you’ll pass through a number of charming villages, each offering its own unique character and welcoming atmosphere.

day 6 - Scenic Landscapes and Vineyards to Padrón
Caldas de Reis - Pardon. Today, you will walk a stage showcasing the most beautiful landscapes of this route, including vineyards, vibrant cultivated fields, the Valley of Bermaña, and forests of chestnuts and eucalyptus. Your day will conclude in Padrón, where you must not miss the chance to taste its renowned peppers.

day 7 - Final Stretch
Pardon - Santiago de Compostela. After breakfast, you will begin the last stage of your Way, following the N-550 route several times and guided by the railways. You will first pass through Iria Flavia and then make your way up to O Milladoiro, where the towers of the Cathedral will come into view as you approach Santiago. At this moment, you will feel both the excitement of arriving and the sadness of concluding this unforgettable experience.

day 8 - Departure from Santiago de Compostela
