I completed the EBC trek with this local tour operator in October. From the beginning the company were excellent. They responded to all questions very quickly and clearly. They provided lots of extra information for me for my stay in Kathmandu. The guide on my trek, Raj, was excellent. He was great fun and had our safety as his first priority all the time. He kept us positive throughout and gave us clear information before each day of what would happen. The lodges we stayed in were exactly what we needed and the food throughout the trek was great. Our porters were also great fun and so kind. Raj was excellent at keeping everyone together and making sure that everybody was ok during the trek. We had a beautiful celebratory dinner once we had completed the trek, where we saw some traditional dancing and received plaques to remember our trek. The trek exceeded my expectations and I think a lot of that is down to Himalayan Recreation. I would highly recommend them for your trek!

We did Everest Base Camp Trek, one of the most beautiful experiences of our life! It was an exhilarating and life changing experience. The views were stunning and even for second you can't close your eyes. We were also introduced to the Sherpa culture and saw Tibetan Gompa along the route which added to the trip's beauty. The tour company staff were very supportive and professional. They took care of us from arrival to departure. We are very much thankful to them for making our trek to EBC a success. We spent a total of 14 days in Nepal for the trip, the trek itself was 11 night 12 days with 2 acclimatization days in Namche and Dingboche. We had to wait for a few hours to get our flights from Lukla due to weather conditions. But the thrilling flight was well worth it. We are fully satisfied with our decision to choose this trip and would back again for Annapurna Base Camp in near future.

We went on the 4 day trek across Singalila, in a group of 6. The company arranged for an early morning pick-up from our hotel in Darjeeling to their office, where they stored our additional luggage before driving us to the start of the hike in their Tata Sumo. Starting with the guide: Pemba Sherpa, he assisted us with all government procedures and paperwork before we can enter the national park. And through the 4 days, he carried fruits and refreshments for us, surprising us with something new during every break. He took excellent photos of the group, ensured we made appropriate progress through the day while keeping safety as the number one priority. During Day 3, we lost a mobile phone and the guide went above and beyond walking extra miles to go back and check every part of the road while informing the right people to get it back. He was quite knowledgeable, knew the locals and kept us motivated to go. The trek: amazing visuals, challenging sections with climb and descend and you will get the true sense of Himalayas. During late April, the mountains are covered with flowers and temperatures are quite tolerable through the day. Mobile network however wasn't available starting Day 2 to Day 3. Home-stays: If you seek luxury, you won't be in this trek in the first place and the stays aren't anything like a 5-star hotel, but after walking for hours they are really comfy places to be at. Friendly staff/owners, good-warm food and clean facilities. Day 1 was at Gurdum Mingma Sherpa Homestay—all basic amenities, except warm water which a paid extra. Day 2 at Sandakphu, no running water or mobile network but the homestay provided us with wi-fi. Day 3 at Rammam, we were the first guest at the place and we had running hot water and mobile network. Food: It was mostly Tibetan, we took a number of breaks through our journey. Tea was the common feature in every break, the guide called ahead with our special needs in terms of avoiding spice in meals. The feature meals were veg momo, thukpa, samosa and rice and veggies grown locally. At the end of the trek, we were picked up by the same Tata Sumo and driven back to Darjeeling. Despite it being a Sunday, the company staff were there to receive us with the local scarves as gift. They dropped us to our new hotel before parting ways.

The only way to see India. We were afraid of what to expect from India but Luxury Gold made us feel safe and secure. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trips abroad. Northern Pakistan is breathtaking and this travel specialist made it an incredible experience. Sultan made it easy in the beginning by answering all of my questions and providing documentation required for the Visa process. His brother Hassan was our driver to Fairy Meadows and Hunza Valley and honestly, I made sure not to nod off in the car because of so much beauty on the road. We had really great hotels to stay and if there were any issues, Sultan would be on top of it. He made great lenghts to make sure our tour group was doing fine. Really grateful too as I was not feeling well late one evening. Sultan's brother was able to drive me to a medical clinic to get medication. We also got to enjoy a meal and time with Sultan's lovely family. What I respect most about this agency is that they are culturally and environmentally responsible so you really feel like they care about their home. Experience of a lifetime!
