Had an absolutely amazing time

We went on the 4 day trek across Singalila, in a group of 6. The company arranged for an early morning pick-up from our hotel in Darjeeling to their office, where they stored our additional luggage before driving us to the start of the hike in their Tata Sumo. Starting with the guide: Pemba Sherpa, he assisted us with all government procedures and paperwork before we can enter the national park. And through the 4 days, he carried fruits and refreshments for us, surprising us with something new during every break. He took excellent photos of the group, ensured we made appropriate progress through the day while keeping safety as the number one priority. During Day 3, we lost a mobile phone and the guide went above and beyond walking extra miles to go back and check every part of the road while informing the right people to get it back. He was quite knowledgeable, knew the locals and kept us motivated to go. The trek: amazing visuals, challenging sections with climb and descend and you will get the true sense of Himalayas. During late April, the mountains are covered with flowers and temperatures are quite tolerable through the day. Mobile network however wasn't available starting Day 2 to Day 3. Home-stays: If you seek luxury, you won't be in this trek in the first place and the stays aren't anything like a 5-star hotel, but after walking for hours they are really comfy places to be at. Friendly staff/owners, good-warm food and clean facilities. Day 1 was at Gurdum Mingma Sherpa Homestay—all basic amenities, except warm water which a paid extra. Day 2 at Sandakphu, no running water or mobile network but the homestay provided us with wi-fi. Day 3 at Rammam, we were the first guest at the place and we had running hot water and mobile network. Food: It was mostly Tibetan, we took a number of breaks through our journey. Tea was the common feature in every break, the guide called ahead with our special needs in terms of avoiding spice in meals. The feature meals were veg momo, thukpa, samosa and rice and veggies grown locally. At the end of the trek, we were picked up by the same Tata Sumo and driven back to Darjeeling. Despite it being a Sunday, the company staff were there to receive us with the local scarves as gift. They dropped us to our new hotel before parting ways.

Very enjoyable and overall a safe trip

In April as a group of 5 foreigners we did 7 days Darjeeling and Sikkim tour using the vehicle provided by this tour company. Agreement for exact route was made very clear and well in advance. The company owner Subash with driver were waiting to pick up us at Bagdogra Airport. The vehicle was clean and ready to manage all the roads. Every morning, driver Santosh was ready to start on time. He was always understanding, humble and helpful. It was a pleasure our vehicle was provided by the company itself. We had a safe trip thanks to our driver Santosh. Definitely recommend this travel agency to everyone.

Highly recommended tour

We used this travel operator for a trek on Singalila Ridge and a tour of Sikkim. Everything worked out perfectly and we loved our guide Dawa Lama. Subash recommended a trekking agency in Kathmandu and that was excellent as well. Highly recommended!

Experienced the best of Sikkim from a local’s perspective

We had an amazing experience with this travel operator. Right from the planning to our trip everything was great. Our guide for the Sikkim trip Norbu was amazing and made sure we experienced the best of Sikkim from a local’s perspective. We thoroughly enjoyed his company 4 days in Sikkim, right from Gangtok to Yumthang and down to Temi. We also went on a short hike from Darjeeling to Tonglu with Rupesh as our trek guide. The stay at Tonglu was amazing, we enjoyed it more than all the luxury stays that were provided. Overall, we had an amazing time at Darjeeling and Sikkim. Would totally recommend this company for your trips and treks. Highly professional, easily reachable and very flexible.

Terrific weekend touring Darjeeling

I had a terrific weekend touring Darjeeling with Kiran Rai as guide and Dipu Lepcha as driver. We packed a lot of sights into a short period of time but they managed things smoothly so it never felt rushed. Kiran was extremely knowledgeable about everything and gave me a lot to learn and think about throughout the weekend, as we discussed the background of the Tibetan monastery, Buddhism, the tea industry, the politics of the hill country within the state of West Bengal, as well as history of the region from the British Raj to independence to the present day. Dipu did an amazing job driving amidst difficult traffic in Bagdogra and the mountain road to Darjeeling.

Amazing Family Trek Organizer

We planned a four-day trek with this travel specialist. We were a family of four with two kids of age 6 and 9. They made a customized tour plan and treks keeping their age and strength and capability in mind. I made multiple calls to them and coordinated with Mr. Subash Tamang over phone, email and WhatsApp. He was very helpful and patiently answered all my questions, which helped in the perfect planning of our tour. Without Mr. Subhashish Tamang’s help we could never successfully complete this trek which was the first time in kids’ life and our life. We also opted for their airport car pick up and drop services. We requested for an English-speaking guide in the trips because the kids don’t understand Hindi. During the entire tour we were totally satisfied with their service. Prior to the journey we were given the contact numbers of the driver and the guide. On the very first day of the journey, the guide was there in the hotel on time we started our journey as per schedule. We met Mr. Dawa Lama, the most knowledgeable person of the trekking route, who was there with us for the next three days. We were astonished to learn that he was working as a guide in this route for the past 25 years. He is also trained from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and went into many expeditions. This man was a legend and surely, he helped us in each and every step and with his knowledge and familiarization with the route and his connection with the locals. His spoken English is excellent! Never in the trek did we face any trouble because of him. We went from Darjeeling to Dhotrey by car and from there we trekked to Tonglu. We stayed at Trekkers Hut at Tonglu. Then next day we went to Tumling and Singalila National Park and stayed at Shikhar Lodge at Tumling. Next day, we trekked from Tumling to Chitrey and then we took the car from Chitrey to Darjeeling. One day later, we went to Chatakpur day trek with them and Mr. Lama was there to guide us as well. We did not pay premium price for this tour but in every step, we felt every penny was worth paying because of the preferential treatment that we received along with a personal touch from Mr. Dawa Lama. We tried to book a room near Ghoom but when all other places said “no vacancy”, Mr. Subash Tamang helped us out by arranging for a beautiful home stay near Jorebunglow. That happened to be the most exciting one of all the places we have stayed so far but that’s for another story (and review). During the entire car journey, we were provided with AC Innova as we requested and they promised. I would highly recommend this local travel specialist for any kind of travel in Darjeeling.

Off-beat Sandakphu & Phalut Trek

We had the best time on our trek with this local travel expert! It was a last minute decision for my friend and I to do the 6 day / 5 night trip while already in Darjeeling, so we didn’t have much time for preparation. The team are so organized and helped us navigate all the paperwork needed for border check ins, figure out what kind of gear we would need on the trek, and how to get from Darjeeling to the start in Rimbick. Subash, the owner, was in constant communication with us in the days leading up to starting, ensuring we had all the info for taxi times, who our guide was, what we’d need to pay for real-time versus later on, and answering any questions we had. Our guide, Rupesh, picked us up at our hotel in Darjeeling and walked us to the taxi we booked to ride to Rimbick. We loved having Rupesh as our guide. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the areas we walked through, pointing out things to see we didn’t notice, and showing us things we could eat while on the path. We had a great time talking with him about things beyond the actual trek too. He’s always very funny and always felt relaxed, never hurrying us or making us feel like we were moving too slow. We asked to try and catch the sunrise at Sandakphu and once again at Phalut, so he got up early to check the weather both days for us and let us know when to come out and catch the sun. At night he made sure we had enough blankets to keep warm and kept us on track for all of our meals and tea breaks along the way. The food was delicious — breakfast, lunch and dinners. We packed snacks for daytimes, but had so much at mealtimes that we didn’t end up needing most of them. The trekker huts and home stays were great and we even got to charge our phones (aka our cameras) on most of the days when electricity was on in them! There’s little to no service, which we loved. Every person we stayed with, drank tea with, and chatted to at the stops was so kind and it felt like Rupesh knew all of them! The trip back to Darjeeling was just as smooth as the rest of the trek. Rupesh scheduled us a shared taxi and walked us back to the travel specialist's store front to make sure we picked up all our gear and could back a few things we’d borrowed. We had a great time debriefing with Subash and Rupesh about the off-beat route we’d taken. Overall, I would absolutely suggest booking with this agency and going on the off-beat route. The whole experience was so easy (minus the actual hiking up a mountain part) and the team truly are fantastic!
