Reviews of our South Asia Young Adult Tours
Our Young travelers share exciting memories from their South Asia adventures.
I had a fantastic time on this trip. It was exactly what I was looking for - a completely different landscape, culture, religion and language. Our guides Pemba and Bir Singh were fabulous and so generous in sharing their knowledge and experience.
This trip takes you in jeeps round narrow mountain roads up to amazing scenery at over 4000 metres, with glaciers and snow- capped mountains, as well as, bizarrely, high sand dunes to climb. Warm hats and walking poles are recommended. It gets cold in the open jeeps and at night, too, in June. Islamabad is hot, so pack a variety of clothes. Pakistan is mainly squat toilets. Buckets for washing rather than showers are available in one hotel but the location and scenery made up for it . Climbing into the jeep through the window might be a challenge for some but for me it was part of the adventure . Very few tourists and the people are very friendly and welcoming.
The 'Karakoram' tour in Pakistan was wonderful - scenery was amazing, there's history, great opportunities for contact with local people, exciting adventures in open-top jeeps and great support from the tour leader, Sajid Ali, accompanying guides (Jahangir and Shiraz) and drivers. Having all meals included on this tour was a bonus - food was excellent, and there was no time-wasting over orders and payment (all food was buffet with plenty of choice). The flight from Skardu to Islamabad was spectacular. We couldn't do all the activities, but there were options. We felt safe the whole time and found the local people to be very friendly and helpful.
Amazing trip - tough at times but incredibly enjoyable. Great crew expertly guided by tour leader Bir Singh. Highly recommend.
We loved our trip but did find the trekking harder than expected due to the technical terrain and altitude.
EBC has been my biggest 'to tick' bucket list item ever and I'm very glad I did it with World Expeditions! The guides, sherpas and porters have been so amazing and knowledgeable. I 100% recommend them and would book another trek in the future.
