This spectacular and isolated circular trek skirts around the eighth highest mountain in the world, formidable Manaslu (28,258ft/8,163m). We follow the mighty Buri Gandaki River as it narrows into a spectacular gorge, passing through tiny villages perched on valley sides. This was my first Collette Tour and I thought it was very good. Our tour manager was excellent, the hotel was beautiful, the tours were nice. My least favorite thing was traveling by motorcoach. It is not a favorite mode of transportation for me but I understand the necessity when you have that many people. Prefer smaller groups.

During our final walking tour in Vienna, I was excited to hear we would see a part of where some is the Lipizzan Stallions were kept while being trained. I was going to be in awe just to see the area. My Father had fought in WWII and he had told me he had seen the horses. I always tried to get more information from him about his time in the war but that was the one and only thing he ever mentioned about it. I guess that came out about the time I had gotten a solid white Quarter Horse for a new competition horse. Anyway, I had also seen the Disney movie that came out about the Lipizzan Stallions and Riders escape from those who were trying to stop them from reaching Austria so I was living a childhood dream just to be near them. But, to my surprise, when we got to the small training type area, I was greeted with a wonderful sight that absolutely made my day!

There are two: - the old town and markets were amazing. The walking was easy and so pleasant from our lovely hotel. There was so much to see and experience, - the top of the Alps experience was breathtaking and having lunch topped this once in lifetime thrill!
