Amazing

The whole experience was absolutely amazing, even though it was just the two of us on the tour. Everything was perfectly organized, and we got to enjoy a more personal and flexible experience. Our tour leader made the trip even more special with their knowledge, enthusiasm, and warm personality. They took great care to tailor the journey to our interests, making every stop meaningful. It truly felt like a private adventure, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience.

World Expeditions is truly the best company with genuine care and compassionate staff. We joined the Everest Base Camp Trek from 01 October to 17 October 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience, a dream come true. Special thanks to our Tour Leader, Mr. Roy, for being so professional, disciplined, and experienced in handling the group. We truly appreciate his leadership and guidance throughout the journey. Our sincere gratitude also goes to Mr. Mayaliah, Mr. Santos, and Mr. Birbal, all very professional guides with great attitudes. You treated every guest with full attention to detail, fulfilling both our expressed and unexpressed needs. The food provided was excellent, and the tents were always clean and comfortable. I felt truly happy, safe, and blessed throughout the trip. Thank you, World Expeditions, for making this journey one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

We are a husband and wife team who joined the over-55 Everest Base Camp 21-day tour and absolutely loved it. We had great weather, very comfortable accommodation, and a pace that was perfectly manageable thanks to our excellent guides. The food was varied and of a very high standard — there was never a shortage of tea or boiled water. The team of guides, porters, and cooks couldn’t do enough to make us feel safe, comfortable, and ready for the next day’s walk. Our leader, Pinout, was incredible — very knowledgeable about the region, history, and culture, and always happy to share his insights. He was caring, supportive, and strong as a leader. When we woke to bad weather at EBC, the team quickly adjusted our itinerary and led us safely down the mountain through the snow. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We also watched as the team supported another guest who needed help — well done to Demish and Pinout for their professionalism and kindness. It was a truly great experience, and we look forward to more adventures with this wonderful company.

It was an amazing trip!! All participants in my group reached the EBC and it was an excellent group. Our guides were excellent. They were very friendly, tentative and nothing was an hassle for them to help us in many ways. Highly recommended and would do this expedition again with these 4 guides, Roy, Shantosh, Birbel and Mayaella and the hard working porters/ Sherpas. After all it was a forgettable experience!!

Best trek yet! If you’re after creature comforts this isn’t for you; if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and explore the beautiful Annapurna range, meet locals, see some awesome-inspiring scenery, stay in rustic, basic accommodation but have some of the heartiest, tastiest meals and best hospitality ever, whilst taking on a challenging yet deeply rewarding trek, this is for you. Su, our tour leader, was exceptional, nothing was too much bother and he became the 11th member of our group. The crew and guides were fantastic, setting an achievable pace that meant we could chat as we walked or just enjoy the quiet as we took on a section of steeper steps, it all meant we were well-acclimatised for altitude and hardly had any effects whatsoever. Every day was different so there was never a dull moment and always something new to see - we even saw monkeys! The days spent in Kathmandu and Pokhara to top and tail the trip were the perfect intros and downtime to show two very different sides of Nepalese life. The food was fantastic - light, flavourful and satisfying. Have the momos and Dal Baht - you won’t regret it! Going during Nepalese Diwali (Tihar), made the experience even more magical to be honest. Fully recommend going then to get that added cultural experience as well! Just couldn’t have had a better two weeks away in the mountains (with a bit of culture thrown in) if I tried!

Kathmandu - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Tour Highlights

  • Located on the Bagmati River, some 5 km south-east of the city center, Pashupatinath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Shiva. It is one of the holiest sights in the entire country and attracts many pilgrims from South Asia especially during Shivaratri, an annual Hindu festival that celebrates Shiva.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square is the heart of the Nepalese capital. This colorful plaza is home to several significant sights, including the Living Goddess Kumari House, Taleju Temple and Bhairab Temple. The Durbar Square suffered massively during the April 2015 earthquake and is currently undergoing renovation.
  • Boudhanath Stupa lies 5 km north of Kathmandu city center. The massive 5th Century Stupa is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal.
  • Swayambhunath Stupa is another majestic sacred structure which overlooks the city from a tall hilltop. At the so-called site of “Sublime Trees”, you will find lush vegetation and an intriguing blend of Buddhist and Hindu imagery.

Travel Tips

  • Air in Kathmandu is notoriously dry, dusty and polluted, especially during the dry season (October to May). If you find yourself experiencing respiratory difficulties, make sure to wear a face mask whenever you go outside.
  • Other than getting around on foot, the most convenient methods of transport in Kathmandu are rickshaws and taxis. Most tourist areas are serviced by rickshaws, while taxis are found all across the city. Don't be shy to haggle with the cab drivers.
  • In order to avoid water borne diseases, it is advised not to drink tap water while in Kathmandu. Make sure to always equip yourself with plenty of water bottles, especially if you plan on spending prolonged periods of time trekking or sightseeing. It’s also best to avoid consuming ice, salads and pre-cut fruit in restaurants.
  • If you are in Kathmandu for a short time, do consider going for short hikes around Nagarkot and Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park areas.

Nepal has seasonal weather so please do check up on the best time to visit Nepal before planning your tour. If you’re still hunting for more things to do and places to explore in Nepal, do check out our Nepal Travel Guide for more information.
