day 1 - Drive to Chyamje (1400 meter)

Today we will drive to Chyamje taking 8.30 to 9 hours. On your arrival at Dumre, you will feel the beginning of your trek. You will be driving to the Marsyangdi river valley then move to Besisahar and ultimately proceed to Chyamje via Syange and Shree Chaur.

day 2 - Trek to Dharapani (1943 meter)

To begin today's trek, you will cross the eastern bank of the river to enter the Manang District at the settlement of Tal. You will keep on noticing changes in the landscapes, people, culture and architecture as we move ahead from Chyamje.

Here, we will see people of Tibetan origin their culture; houses made of rock, less tropical plants and more. The trail from Tal comes across the Marsyangdi River after Karte settlement and proceeds towards the Dharapani village.

day 3 - Trek to Chame (2713 meter)

We depart from Dharapani, you keep on ascending the river valley passing the Gurung Village, Thonje and then reach Bagarchhap.

Walking further, along the left shore, we ascend up to Manang valley passing through small settlements with terrific views of Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) and the mountains over Larkya La pass.

day 4 - Trek to Pisang (3185 meter)

We will be walking along the trail which takes us up to Chame. We will come across the forests of Juniper, Pine, above fairly plane ground all the way through Bhratang village.

We will witness a superb view of Annapurna II to south.

day 5 - Trek to Manang (3540 meter)

Today, we continue our trek to Manang valley. We take a stable way up to reach to the top and witness the view of the Manang valley. This exciting spot offers superb views of the valleys, the great peaks of Gangapurna, Tilicho Annapurna II, III, Chulu east and Pisang peak.

The walk takes us further to Humde and then we have a pleasant walk up to the village of Braga and walking further we reach Manang.

day 6 - Acclimatization at Manang (visit Chonkor View Point)

Today we have an acclimatization day and to explore Manang. We might go to Chonkor View point (3800m.) and explore the village of about flat-roofed houses which are surrounded by magnificent scenery -Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna to the South, Tilicho to the West - Chulu West and Chulu East to the North.

day 7 - Trek to Khangsar (3760 meter)

After having a rest for a day in Manang, today we make our way to the Tilicho Lake, located on the west of Manang all the way down to the river.

After coming across the Khangsar Khola, we arrive at Khangsar and move to a traditional Tibetan village.

day 8 - Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4200 meter)

We depart from Khangsar passing a Gompa and our path moves ahead towards a high ridge. One trail maintains the elevation, crossing the inclines to the narrow valley; the next one ascends towards the ridge.

The first one is the older path, and is more challenging; the later is a new trail that offers a comparatively easy trek. Following the new path, we reach a high ridge, and move down to a side gorge of the major valley.

On the other side, is the Tilicho Base Camp (4,200 m)

day 9 - Trek to Tilicho Lake (4919 meter) & back to Base Camp

Today in order to avoid the wind, we start early in the morning.

From Tilicho Base camp to the Tilicho Lake, it takes around 3-4 hours. Tilicho Lake is a freezing desolate place in the afternoon and recognized as highest lake of the earth. Then, we will go back to Tilicho Base Camp.

day 10 - Trek to Yak Kharka (4000 meter)

On this day, we move back to standard Annapurna Circuit trail again. We can spot the view of the Annapurna, Tilicho peak, Gangapurna and more during the trek.

The track relaxingly winds up presenting views and passing through lands filled with juniper bushes, the only existing vegetation around this area, and then you will reach Yak-Kharka.

day 11 - Trek to Thorong Phedi / High Camp (4500meter/4700meter)

From Yak Kharka, we start our trek with slow pace to reach Phedi which means 'foot of the hill'. We still have same splendid view of peaks and landscapes.

After an hour's trek, we arrive at Ledar and go on to mount along the east shore of the Jorsang Khola, then descend and cross the river on a bridge. We stop for superb view and tea; we go across a narrow path, uneven incline before reaching to Thorung Phedi.

You can decide to either continue to High Camp or stay in Phedi depending on the conditions.

day 12 - Trek to Muktinath (3800meter) after crossing Thorong La

This is the best and most challenging day of the entire trip. We start our walk early in the morning. Today, our track turns out to be the steepest reach at high camp. We will be viewing sunrise and scenes of the mountains.

We keep on walking towards the top taking 3 to 4 hrs to reach the peak of the Throng La (5416 meter). Here, we can see fascinating scenery and then move downwards to Mustang and then to the Kaligandaki valley. Finally, we arrive at Muktinath after a 7 to 8 hrs long walk.

day 13 - Trek to Jomsom (2720 meter)

We visit Muktinath temple in the morning and move down to the Kaligandaki river valley.

We follow a calm trail for two hours till we reach the large city of Jomsom and headquarter of the Mustang region with a small runway just over the Kaligandaki River.

day 14 - Drive to Pokhara (720 meter)

We take a drive to Pokhara through deepest canyon of the world lying between two gigantic mountain range of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri with many snow-topped peaks.

day 15 - Drive back to Kathmandu

Passing all the way through the striking countryside early in the morning and travelling for 7 hours we return back to Kathmandu.

Incredible experience maximised by a great company and team!

We had a great experience with Khum and this company. The transport to and from the trek was smooth. The trek holds breath-taking views with mostly straightforward days for a fit walker with a few challenging days. I highly recommend the trek for any nature lover and enthusiastic trekker. It is, however, the guide and porter that absolutely make the trek! They really do become like family on the trek. Raju has mastered the art of being a guide. He knows well when to give space and when to engage with encouragement or knowledge. We met many guides on the trek and, whilst they were all lovely, we felt especially fortunate to have Raju with his uplifting energy, enthusiastic knowledge and witty humour. Raju made the experience perfect. He acquired the best rooms he could to look after us as one of had a stomach infection. The rooms were better than expected all the way round as Raju managed to get us private rooms at every tea house and always offered extra blankets and pillows! He was patient and kind and remained positive towards achieving our goal despite the difficult illness. He also supplied the medicine which cured us and allowed us to complete the trek. It’s safe to say this would not have happened without Raju! We played cards every night and we shared different games with each other, this was a real highlight! Nima was also a lovely and caring porter who with his limited English communicated largely in kindness and respect. He was always there to help and support and several times returned from dropping the heavy bag to help! Despite the illness, the trip ran smoothly because of Raju and Nima and it has perpetuated our deep love for Nepal and a desperation to return and complete more treks. We can’t thank Raju and Nima enough for their excellency and for making our trip so special!

If I could give more stars I would.

If I could give more stars I would. This local travel specialist went above and beyond for me during my trip to Nepal. To begin with I arrived one year early – yes I booked for 2024 but arrived in Nepal in 2023 – and instead of allowing this HUGE blunder to be the story of my first trip to Nepal, the owner, Khum, worked magic. He quickly found a guide and porter for me and honored my booking for the Annapurna Circuit and TIlicho Lake trek. They handled everything, just as advertised, and I never was concerned about their promptness or execution. My guide, Chandra, was experienced and a tune to my speed and ability. We modified the trip a bit because we were making more progress than was expected in the itinerary. He was knowledgeable of the areas we were traveling through and often had stories or informational bits to share with me. The three of us got along swimmingly, Chandra and Nemah, had great senses of humor and were always happy and up for additional treks or just to sit around playing games. The lodging and food was as expected on a trek such as this and Chandra and Nemah often offered me desert of apples and bananas as a special treat. Almost every room I had included a stunning view of the Himalayas and a soundtrack of the river that paralleled the trail. I don’t need to dwell on how stunning the experience was or how much, mentally and physically, I needed this trip so that I could reset and put 2023 in the rearview mirror but this trip exceeded expectations in that regard. Towards the end of the hike, I did become ill but I was never concerned or felt alone; Chandra, Nemah and Khum, were all very attentive and concerned that I be receiving the care I needed. They treated me like family and I will definitely be using them in the future when I visit western Asia.

I had the pleasure of trekking the Annapurna region with Kumar. His contagious smile and energy set the tone for a really nice journey. He knows the region and checks on people’s well-being while trying to tailor the experience to my preferences. Even if I was travelling solo, he included me in his guided tour and took care of me.
