Amazing !

The trek far exceeded expectations and a few days rest and relaxation at the end was the icing on the cake. The variety of scenery enroute, the great team of guides and porters and the camaraderie between the group made for an all round wonderful experience . The standard of food and accommodation tho basic was surprisingly good and the pace of trekking and breaks was spot on for everyone . We were extremely well led and looked after and learned so much about this wonderful land and its people.

An excellent and highly enjoyable trip with a good amount of variety. The tour leader (Su) was superb and certainly one of the best I have encountered - no request seemed beyond him! The trip covers a lot of ground and expect some long bumpy rides on the roads which are not currently in a good state. However it is worth it for the temples, the walks, the scenery, the wildlife, and the lovely people of Nepal. Highlights include Chitwan which as well as wildlife gives you an insight into rural Nepalese life and Nagarkot which gives you beautiful sunrise views of the mountains and lovely scenery. I also loved the cable car ride to Manakamana Temple (optional trip) and the colourful stalls there and Patan (another optional trip) which has temples and gave us the opportunity to see both Buddhist and Hindu ceremonies taking place. Accommodation was generally good. Highlights were the Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu and Tigerland in Chitwan. The Riverside at Kurintar was lovely too. The food was good and you get to try a good range of cuisine. The walks were, in my view, not too strenuous and were along country tracks with a lot of uneven steps in some cases. If you are a bit unstable on your feet, take a walking pole. Definitely a trip I would recommend.

This trek was BRILLIANT for so many reasons - World Expeditions plan and prepare this wonderful trek with care & many provisions, including safety, information, on tack support, good and plentiful food, good accommodation.... - the guides are first rate in every way, the time of year was perfect (not too many crowds) and the trekkers were a lovely group of people, the mountains were magic - a total highlight of my hiking life!

What we saw and what we did led by our expert guide was very special. It was the sheer variety of the experiences. The stand out being the walk up to the Tigers Nest Monastery. But for me the walks we did through villages where we saw real life going on was just as special. Bhutan is a special place, full of wonderful people, surrounded by amazing scenery. Accommodation there was of a very high standard. The icing on thd cake was seeing Mt Everest as we flew to Kathmandu. A special holiday full of great experiences.

This was a wonderful tour with a great itinerary and I really enjoyed the contrast between Kolkata and Bhutan, although wouldn't have liked to start in Bhutan and end in Kolkata! I felt the accommodation was significantly better than expected and manageable even when hot water supplies were tricky. Our local guides were great, but the trip was really made by our Explore guide, Kiran Deo Bhatt, one of the best I've encountered in the 30 years I've been travelling with Explore. Kiran offered us so many extras on the trip, and managed the complex logistics confidently; he made sure we crossed borders with relative ease, always supplied the info we needed on timings, temperature, weather, dress requirements etc, acted as our food critic and waiter, ensuring we all got food we enjoyed and paid our bills efficiently. He managed a tips kitty for us, exchanged our currency at excellent rates for us, and was incredibly helpful with any health issues we had, translating for pharmacists to make sure we got the treatments we needed. When a distressing accident occurred to one of the group early in the tour, he did the right thing, leaving the rest of us in the capable hands of the local guide and ensuring our fellow traveller got the right hospital treatment, for which we were all relieved. He was unfailingly cheerful and contributed so much to our enjoyment and understanding of the cultures we experienced, patiently giving us the time to enjoy the sights on the itinerary, but getting us in time to all. Kiran set up a WhatsApp for us and contributed by taking great pictures for all of us. I was very touched that he got up at 5.30am to ****** me to the airport and make sure I knew where to go; he also checked the WhatsApp to make sure we all got home safely. We couldn't have had a more caring, generous and enthusiastic tour leader- he's a treasure!

An excellent trip with a great Bhutanese tour leader and driver. Such a beautiful and peaceful country and a big contrast to hectic, noisy and dirty Kathmandu. A fairly relaxed tour with highlights of the black crane festival, Tiger’s Nest monastery, Punakha and more. Generally good hotels except in Phobjika Valley, which had power cuts, cold rooms and poor food. Food in Bhutan was a bit monotonous- generally very similar buffets. Excellent guide and driver. Recommended.
