Whale Watching in Sydney: All you need to know
Each year, whales migrate up Australia’s east coast from their feeding grounds in the Antarctic to their mating and calving grounds in the Coral Sea. Whale sightings in Sydney are common, as around 15,000 whales swim past Sydney annually, making the whale-spotting season an unusually long one. Anyone who has been whale watching in Sydney during this annual migration cannot help but be entranced by these majestic giants romping in warm waters. Visitors can readily see the famous humpbacks and southern right whales from onboard a whale watching cruise, from the air on a scenic charter flight, from a cliff top trail on North and South Head, and even occasionally from the shore, as the ever-curious whales are known to swim right inside Sydney Harbour.

Great itinerary. Covered a lot of territory in a relatively short amount of time. Well lo planned and well balanced including a good mixture of , history, culture and local cuisine.

In New Zealand breakfasts were same daily. Milliennium hotel ( fireplace in dining area) was their only heating source and we were sooooo cold. How many can sit close to the fireplace? I spoke firmly with the head person in the dining to please turn up the heat! People were eating breakfast in their coats! Next day we had a warm dining area! A customer had to speak up on this!? Really! Also the maid daily ignored poop in the toilet that stuck to the toilet. I had to call to have someone clean up the toilet! I told the young man to be sure and tell y the maid to do her job or I would call again and he could come back and do her job.

Everything was perfect but what made it the best trip ever was the best tour guide Anna and the equally good coach driver Terry. Once when I had technically left the tour in Melbourne Terry went looking for me to make sure I was alright. Unbelievably kind and caring.

Fantastic trip very knowledgeable guide excellent driver. A great variety of activities very well planned and spaced out. Would recommend a couple of days in Hobart before and after the tour just to explore the city and other options. P s dress for all types of weather

The 5 days gave a good look at Tasmania with some very worthwhile stops of interest. The accommodation was of a high standard with good size rooms. A bit unfortunate that the room in Hobart had a big window that looked out onto a concrete wall about 80cm away. The sites we stopped at were of historic interest. The lavender farm was great but a pity not in flower. Loved the walk to Cape Tourville lighthouse and the views of the coast.

Our trip to Australia with Luxury Gold was an excellent experience, it was a very busy itinerary, but it allowed us to see a lot of what Australia has to offer. The whole schedule was put together exceptionally well, and our Tour Manager was very attentive and looked after us throughout the trip. Our favourite hotel was The Reef Hotel, The Langham was also exceptional. The only part we would change, would be the trip to the Yarra Valley in Melbourne, as the visit to the Chocolate experience was not for us. In hindsight we would rather have spent the day at leisure in Melbourne. Every other aspect of the trip was spot on, we loved it.
