Top End Highlights

I had a fantastic experience on the Top End tour with AAT Kings. This was one of the most memorable trips I have ever taken in Australia. The itinerary was excellent and well organised. We saw a wide variety of native wildlife and plants, stunning wetlands, spectacular rock formations and breathtaking natural scenery. Every destination was worth visiting and offered something different. Our tour guide, Pen, was outstanding. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shared a wealth of information about the Northern Territory, its history, Aboriginal culture, wildlife and the natural environment. Her explanations were detailed, engaging and easy to understand. Her didn't just talk on the coach —he personally guided us through the attractions, making sure everyone could fully appreciate each location. The daily schedule was also very well planned, allowing enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. Our driver, Jessica, was equally wonderful. She is an excellent driver, and throughout the journey we always felt safe and comfortable. She was also very kind and helpful, proactively assisting everyone with their luggage and helping passengers refill their water bottles whenever needed. Her professionalism and friendly attitude made the trip even more enjoyable. Thank you to Pen, Jessica and AAT Kings for providing such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this Top End tour to anyone visiting the Northern Territory, and I look forward to travelling with AAT Kings again in the future.

Ian & I had the best time. Not a holiday but a great trip. Met some lovely people. The director & driver were great, they had so much info to give. If you did that trip on your own you would miss so much history. Fantastic bus. All fantastic

The tour was beautifully planned with a range of experiences, mostly in national parks and including world Heritage Areas I've wanted to visit for decades (Nitmiluk gorge, Kakadu). Our guide was outstanding, one of the best I've encountered anywhere in the world. The driver is also qualified as a guide in the world heritage sites and she was extremely able in both roles. Accommodation is as good as can be expected in remote areas subject to flooding and we were very impressed with the speed of recovery in recently flooded areas. Food at a couple of the hotels was excellent, much higher standard than I expected in such remote areas and it was perfectly adequate everywhere. Frequent stops were planned for rest breaks. All in all a brilliant experience.

Experiences, sites, bus, tour leader and driver all fantastic. Food very good everywhere. Crocodile hotel very good. Darwin hotel Leea accommodation unacceptable. Katherine hotel 2.5 star but considering the remoteness acceptable. Please lift accommodation to 4 star especially in Darwin then there would be nothing to complain about.
