Reviews of our Australia Tours for March
Feedback from guests who toured Australia during March.
We enjoyed our tour very much. Can’t think of anything that we were unhappy about. Our tour manager, Clare Martin, was exceptional! We would recommend this tour to anyone looking to go to Australia and New Zealand.
Our trip was fantastic along with our tour guide. He made the trip enjoyable. Sydney was awesome and the scenery in New Zealand was breath taking. We felt that we were able to see most of what we wanted to see through Collette.
Absolutely totally enjoyed this trip. They say a trip of a life time. Australia, New Zealand and Fiji had it all; adventure, beauty, exploring, excitement, and fun. Highlights for me included hiking in several NZ parks, Queenstown, the Sydney Opera House, Best of Opera show, Ayer’s Rock, Milford Sound, Great Barrier Reef, watching a fellow pax bungy jump, and sending time with all pax who enjoyed the trip. Campbell (Cam) was the perfect tour manager for this group. He was laid-back, not pushy, very informative, full of knowledge, patient, and fun to be with. He got along very well with this group. He handled everyone’s’ issue, i.e. lost CPAP, wallet, phones, etc. Cam assisted a pax with her luggage since wheels kept falling off.
Hotels were excellent with great views and great breakfasts. I really enjoyed the camel ride and the Waka canoe ride. I was glad that we were in Christchurch the day of the 15th earthquake anniversary and went to the memorial service. I also loved the tour of the Sydney opera house and seeing "Gatsby " there that night. I always like to do as much as possible while on vacation, and Lia made that happen. Lia was very patient, organized and knowledgeable.
The trip was wonderful! Every day was a new adventure, fabulous excursions, and delicious new foods. From our professional tour of the Sydney Opera house, a glorious sunset at Ayers Rock, snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef to the snow-covered mountains in the southern Alpine area of New Zealand our days were unique and varied! From kangaroo meat pies, an Australian barbeque, delicious lamb, and abundant fresh seafood to a home-hosted New Zealand dinner, we ate in style. Some of us added the tastes of vintage wines of the regions. And best of all was meeting and talking with the people. I learned so much about both the original and newer Aussies and Kiwis. Our group learned and lived so much history from the wonderful mythology of the aborigines, the moving Memorial to those lost in the World Wars, to the moment of silence in Christchurch to remember those lost in the earthquake just 15 years ago. I have been traveling for many, many years, never have I had a better guide than Lia. She was there for us in every instance. Her communication -- before, during, and even after the trip -- has been exceptional. I have had great experiences with Collette Tours and a number of well-respected Travel Groups. Lia is the very best!
The tour guide was excellent and the tour was very inclusive of the choice of places that were visited. The tour was well paced so you didn't feel overwhelmed. Would do it again.
