Challenging walks, spectacular views!

A real level 4 trip, with steep sections on most days, some scrambling and rocky paths, but also some gentler parts along ridges and the coastline, with the rewarding views over majestic fjords, hidden beaches and colourful villages and the Lofoten archipelago in the background.

This is a jam-packed itinerary with scenery that you only read about. The tour is well paced - we walked about 4 miles a day- and saw some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Trafalgar does a great job of providing opportunities to learn about the local customs, traditions and livelihoods of the places they offer tours of.

5⭐️ Natural Beauty: We went for Best of Norway tour and it was truly one of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited. Its nature and landscape, mountains and valleys, and fjords are just stunning! 5⭐️ Tour guide: is very knowledgeable and experienced, making the trip more memorable. 5⭐️ Coach driver: is such a skillful driver who drove safely especially along the winding roads. 5⭐️ Meals included were excellent! All fishes option were excellent. 5⭐️ Tour mates: we enjoyed the company of our tour mates who were all very punctual and friendly. We travelled together well like family. 4⭐️ hotel location: most are located perfectly near the centre of tourist attraction. The only hotel with laundry room is: Havilla Hotel Geiranger. We had 2 nights stay there so it was perfect. 3⭐️ hotel comfort: no water kettle provided and bed was rather small. So u may need to bring ur own portable kettle. However all the hotels are clean! Highly recommend this tour! ♥️

Awesome Fjord Experience

Amazing discovery of the fjords via hiking, cruise, ferry rides and mini-bus travel. The accommodations at Nes Gard and Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel added to the spectacular hiking. Views of the fjords and farm-to-table food was amazing at both Inns. Each day of hiking was a unique experience ; all of which offered amazing views.

Covered the country's highlights is a short period of time. The tour director did an outstanding job coordinating all the logistics: bus, train, and ship. A most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this trip.

We learned a lot about each destination. It was quite an educational trip. The days were pretty packed with events, many included walking long distances. It is not a good trip for a person who cannot easily navigate stairs or walk uneven surfaces.

Of course, a trip to Norway would not be complete without viewing the Northern Lights, which always act as a major temptation for travelers visiting Norway.

  • Overcome your fear of heights at Pulpit Rock

Travel Tips

  • Norway has four very distinct seasons with weather to match. To avoid disappointment, always research whether your trails or other attractions are open during your visit.
  • Don’t worry about learning Norwegian before you visit. Most people living in Norway have a great command of the English language.
  • If there’s one thing you can’t miss during your stay in Norway, it’s their salmon.
  • Visiting Norway as part of a spa holiday? Be aware of etiquette and always shower before entering the sauna. Some hotels also hire ‘washing women’ to clean you!
  • Be sure to plan your days in advance, as travelling around the country’s near 150,000 square miles isn’t always easy or fast.
  • Are you outdoorsy? Norway is the perfect holiday for you. “Allemannsretten (freedom to roam)" is a traditional Norwegian right, which means you can pitch your tent just about anywhere for an overnight stay.

Norway has seasonal weather so please do check up on the best time to visit Norway before planning your tour. And if you’re still hunting for more things to do and places to explore in Norway, do check out our Norway Travel Guide for more information.
