Norway Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our 9-Day Norway tours
Our Norway trip was simply fabulous. The itinerary was perfect in that we were able to see and enjoy beautiful cities (loved Bergen, Geiranger and Oslo), see many fjords and waterfalls, see the tundra and glaciers, and simply enjoy the green, green beauty of the Norwegian farmland. Trollsteigen was especially memorable with the beauty of the waterfalls.
This was one of the best holidays I've ever had. Beautiful scenery, good company, good food, loads of exercise and the opportunity to learn something new from excellent leaders. Hard to beat!
A superb location for sampling the delights of winter in Norway. The hotel was authentically Norwegian - lots of wood and candles, excellent smoked/marinaded/baked fish and meat, with a few veggie options, mouth-watering desserts (several of us "bagged" our faves before the earlybirds - aka The Germans - scraped the plates), good skis, help with waxing and great tuition and group leading. The sauna was very welcome after the day's battering - sorry "getting to grips with XC skiing" and the West Wing room was unusually spacious for a ski holiday.
Have X-C skied in many parts of world, but after over 35 years still keep returning to Kvitåvatn because of the variety and excellence of the terrain and possible tours. Ski trails much improved for skaters this year, while snow conditions were wonderful in the mountains. New management and rebuild of part of original lodge both settling nicely. Ski hire and the ski preparation areas excellent as always. Food very good this year (copious smoked salmon every day!). Had to replace some ageing ski boots; the shop in nearby Rjukan -easily visited using free bus service - helpful and very well stocked.
The only problem I have with waking in Norway was the tracks . They are in a state of great repair . Ground in places need to be leveled out . Some rocks need to be removed . New soil needs to be placed down in most places. As below
Entire trip was memorable! You can shorten the private tour of the park in Oslo to 1/2 hour and give us more time to explore Oslo on our own.
