The specially crafted hiking route embraces the famous Hardangervidda area of western Norway where there is the potential for a heady mix of highland walking through the manifestations of the last Ice Age. The retreating glaciers once overwhelmed and moulded this landscape; gouging out the great coastal grooves which, with post glacial rising sea levels, have become the fjords. Of these, the beautiful Sognefjord is the longest and deepest in all of Norway, extending to the town of Flåm on a section called the Aurlandsfjord.
You can choose from a wide range of hikes on this trip to take in the highlands, which lead you right up onto the glaciers edge. It is even possible to go out onto the ice to take an excursion. Amazing discovery of the fjords via hiking, cruise, ferry rides and mini-bus travel. The accommodations at Nes Gard and Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel added to the spectacular hiking. Views of the fjords and farm-to-table food was amazing at both Inns. Each day of hiking was a unique experience ; all of which offered amazing views.

One of the best Exodus tours we have done. Norway is staggeringly beautiful, and we experienced it in a way that is simply not possible from the deck of a cruise ship. All the walks are linear, but the landscape is so varied that it never seemed repetitive. The accommodation was excellent, and Nes Gard is a real gem.

Fantastic week walking in beautiful Norway. Think I have fallen a little in love with the country and the people. Views were breathtaking. The itinerary was moved around to accommodate weather and later finishing. This worked well and we got a bonus trip to a local farm with an excellent cafe. I chose not to go on the glacier walk. I certainly didn’t miss out as the alternative walk was absolutely stunning.
