This tour more than met our expectations. It has 9 days in the midnight sun above the Arctic Circle. There is a visit to the most northern point in Europe to see the sun at midnight just above the Barrow Sea. There are visits to Sami culture sights with lovely hospitality and up-close encounters with their reindeer. The visit with Santa Claus in his “home” was an enjoyable “cut above” usual expectations. We liked the many days in which to take in the natural beauty of the wilderness, lakes and fjords. We did nearly all the optional activities and still had time to rest on the coach. In the 4 capitol cities the included a number of amazing beautiful locations as well as interesting history. A highlight for me was seeing the raft and reed boat that Thor Heyerdahl sailed in. Our delightful tour guide was a native Swede full of knowledge, enthusiasm, friendliness and very attentive to individual needs. Our driver was very adept at handling both challenging mountain roads and city traffic. This was a very satisfying trip.
The natural beauty was breathtaking. I was not happy that 2 of the included dinners were hotel buffets. I think that for the price of this tour we should have gotten restaurant dinners. The hotel buffets were fine for breakfast but they were terrible dinners.
May 17 was epic so much to see. Bergen was lovely walkable city - the guided walks in both cities was worth the time to get oriented. First welcome dinner was amazing, first class. Bus rides were well planned with appropriate rest stops. Oslo sculpture garden meant so much more with the guides narrative, memorable! Loen resort was beautiful country, cable car worth the time, first class food and service. Boating on the fjord relaxing. Our group of 8 found some great places to eat.
