Itinerary

An active immersive week exploring Rome, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, the island of Capri and the Amalfi Coast. You can’t see all of Italy in a week – but if you like to be active in your travel, this guided trip comes impressively close. Blending ancient roads, rugged coastline, and local food experiences, it’s made for engaged travellers keen to explore Italy beyond the usual highlights. Start your journey in Rome with a guided cycling tour along the Appian Way, one of the oldest roads in Europe. Far from the crowds, you’ll pedal through peaceful countryside lined with cypress trees and ancient Roman villas and aqueducts – relics of an empire that once connected the entire Mediterranean. Heading south to the legendary Amalfi Coast, discover on foot coastal trails that wind through clifftop villages and terraced lemon groves. Your base is Bomerano, a quiet village perched high above the sea and right on the Path of the Gods – one of Italy’s most iconic walks. Each day is packed with natural and cultural highlights: hike the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, take a boat to the island of Capri, and walk the timeworn streets of Pompeii. You’ll also enjoy a lunch at a family-run vineyard, visit a limoncello producer, and find time to relax by the water or with a post-hike espresso. With expert guidance, seamless logistics, and just the right blend of activity and indulgence, this is the Italy walkers dream of – immersive, scenic, and refreshingly real.

day 1Arrive Rome

Make your own way to central Rome, where you'll meet your guide at our conveniently located hotel in the early evening. We’ll gather for a welcome briefing to go over the week’s itinerary, get to know the group, and answer any questions about the journey ahead. After the briefing we’ll enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant, where you can sample regional flavours and start soaking up the vibrant Roman atmosphere. Overnight in Rome.

We just finished an amazing 7 day walking tour of Romeand the Amalfi Coast with the tour operator. It was Sept. 8th, a perfect time to go. Our fabulous tour guide Satva Esposito, was so knowledgeable on the history and biology of every area we toured on the trip. We never would have seen or done so much had we been on our own. The private and public transportations we used were excellent and perfectly timed. We had an absolutely fabulous and exciting trip.

Our tour leader, Satva made the Amalfi walking trek amazingly memorable. Satva's enthusiasm for her local town and environment made Italy come alive for us. Satva even bought along some of her homemade preserves to add flavour to our picnics comprising of local foods. The pizza making was a highlight of the trip as was our picnic on the top of the hill in Capri.
