For trekkers looking to combine high adventure with some of the Everest region’s most dramatic sights, the Gokyo Everest Base Camp Trek—also known as the Cho La Pass Trek—delivers an epic journey. This route unites the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, the thrilling Cho La Pass, and the legendary Everest Base Camp in a single, action-packed trip, making it a favorite among young adults and experienced hikers.
You’ll traverse the Khumbu region, crossing high-altitude terrain and marveling at the snowy giants of Thamserku, Kangtega, Cho-Oyu, Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest itself. The main activity is trekking, with challenging segments like the Cho La Pass—especially demanding in winter—adding an extra layer of excitement for adventure seekers.
Highlights include panoramic vistas from Gokyo RI and Kalapatthar, and the rare chance to experience three major viewpoints in one circuit. The trek starts and ends in Lukla, passing through diverse landscapes, remote villages, and awe-inspiring mountain scenery. The unique selling point: this tour package combines Everest’s two most celebrated trekking experiences into one, offering a true Himalayan odyssey for those eager to push their limits.

AMAZING!!! Everyone we met through this company was just incredible and went above and beyond. Suman was our guide and he is the absolute the sweetest. He made the trek unforgettable. He is so knowledgeable - we felt so safe with him and he had an answer to everything! The prep chats the night before were the best. He made sure we knew what to expect the next day, and made sure we were always ok. Ramesh was also the greatest. He made us laugh so much and spent so much time with us. It was such a treat overall. We hiked to base camp and then to Gokyo Lake. It was a beautiful trek. We did need medical help and Suman made sure everything went so smoothly. Prior to the trek, we were in contact with Upendra, who was always prompt to respond, very kind, organized, and detailed. I cannot recommend them enough!!! Thank you for this wonderful experience!!!
The trek was incredible, but unfortunately I wish I had booked with a different company. My guide, who after a week was still asking me what my name was, started off saying that this was his first trek of the season and he was out of shape, which meant that for the first couple of days he was often walking behind me, and that he did not think that I was going to be such a strong hiker. I had spent months preparing for this trek and came to challenge myself, and was disappointed that my guide was always behind me or ahead of me when I had a question. There was also an issue of being told there were no hot showers in the entire village we stayed at one night but when I went to the tea house next door they had an indoor shower with hot water, and my guide seemed like he had taken me to the cheapest tea house in the village and was not wanting me to realize the quality of the places around us. The entire way my guide was either behind me or ahead of me, I was unable to ask a lot of questions and learned more from other guides that were actually guiding the groups they were with, and just felt like my guide wasn’t very interested in making sure I had the trek that I wanted. If I could do the trek again I would have like to have met and got to know my guide before hand and found someone who wasn’t expecting someone slow and out of shape and was up for a challenge as well as taking the time to really explain the landscape and surroundings. They company provided a sleeping bag and everything needed, the porter was wonderful, but my experience with my guide was not great.
We did this trek on October. The itinerary was well managed and the accommodation and food suited our needs perfectly. Thank you for an amazing experience! Excellent service. Exceeded my expectations. With the help our guide Lok Tamu, who was really fun and amazing, we had a wonderful and memorable trek from the moment we landed in Kathmandu all the way to EBC, Chola Pass and Gokyo and back. He is very helpful in taking photo and video. I dont think it would have been possible without the help of him. Lok is a highly qualified guide. He is very knowledgeable about the local conditions, the local people and the culture. I would highly recommend this local travel specialist and our guide Lok Tamu to anyone who wants to trek in Nepal.
We had to change the route and schedule due to health problems but our guide Ganesh was a partner, took care of us and gave us a really good trip. We reached EBC!:) Dream come true!
The team is amazing. This is my second trip with them which also went to be an amazing experience like the Everest Base Camp Trek that I did with them. Amazing company and amazing team.
Great experience, amazing views, trek really well prepared, nice helpful people.
Varem fer el treking 3 amics, l'experiencia va ser molt bona tan pel lloc, paissatges increibles... com pel guia que ens va acompanyar en Harry i pels porters especialment pel Daba, van ser mol amables en tot moment. Totalment aconsellable
Enjoyed the trek from starting to the end, excellent team and great communication before and during the trip. I can highly recommend Upendra and his team.
Our experience with the local operator could not be any better than it was. Our guide, Dal Bahadur Gurung was highly experienced and knew many details about the landscape that we were travelling through. He told us about the local cultures, history, and mythology of the mountains. Dal was also extremely friendly and became like a brother to us. Most importantly, he was extremely professional and helped provide the best possible experience despite unforeseen weather conditions. During the trip, one of our friends had a family emergency for which we had to arrange an emergency return to NYC from Dingboche. In Lobuche, we were hit with a very strong Blizzard which had us stuck in Gorakshep for multiple nights. Despite these challenges, Dal helped us experience a once in a lifetime experience. Upendra, the coordinator, was also an incredible asset to the team. Communicating with him over a period of a year to plan out a customized itinerary, and his support during the actual trek was absolutely essential. I will book with the operator again. Request for Dal. He is the best
From start to finish it was organised fantastically! Our guide Puna will be a friend for life and we will definitely be back. Couldnt recommend highly enough.
It was my second trek with this local operator after completed a trek to Annapurna in 2017. We planned to trek to Gokyo valley and EBC via Chola Pass however the pass was closed due to heavy snowfall.
