Begin your adventure in San José, the culture-rich capital of Costa Rica. A complimentary transfer from the airport to the hotel is available. Check in and take it easy, there’s plenty of excitement on this trip, so today’s all about relaxing and easing ourselves into the adventure.
Around 7.30pm, say hola to your tour leader and fellow travellers when we gather as a group for a short briefing. Our main briefing takes place tomorrow afternoon in Tortuguero due to the late arrival of some flights today.

Calling all birders and wildlife enthusiasts!

As an Exodus employee, this was my first Exodus trip and a fantastic way to experience Costa Rica firsthand. Magical wildlife holiday

This was my first Exodus trip and it was a wonderful two weeks exploring Costa Rica with a small group of 7, our fantastic guide Guillermo and excellent driver Carlos. Two nights in each location, very different landscapes. We saw a huge number of creatures and an amazing 174 species of birds. Great hotels and excellent airport pick up in San Jose. This holiday was fabulous!

Absolutely amazing, best one I have been on yet!

I did this trip in September 2025 and this is by far the best one I have done so far. This trip shows you how diverse the country is with its different ecosystems and wildlife. From the Caribbean coast over to the Pacific. Everywhere you look there is an abundance of wildlife from the colourful birds and larger mammals/primates right down to the tiny frogs and leaf cutter ants.

The Most Incredible Adventure Ever
