Upon arriving at the airport, you will be met by a Coast to Coast Adventures representative who will drive you to your overnight accommodation in San Jose. If you can find some time, stroll down the streets of the city known for its beautiful theatres and buildings inspired by diverse European architectural styles.

Early in the morning, you will begin the 3-day trip to Tortuguero National Park, passing by the spectacular and amazing Braulio Carrillo National Park.

This afternoon is a great opportunity to visit the Village of Tortuguero along with your guide and group. Through this visit, learn about the ways of life of the local residents of Tortuguero, a small town of approximately 1300 people.

Note: If you travel from July to the middle to October, you will be able to book directly at the front desk of the lodge a night walk tour to the beach to see turtles making their nests.

This morning you will have a canal tour of Tortuguero National Park. You will visit one of the park’s canals by boat and discover with your guide the wonderful biodiversity that resides in this area.

We recommend you bring your windbreaker and poncho. A shower can always be expected in the rainforest! Also, don’t forget to bring cash to pay for your National Park fee.

The afternoon is free to relax by the pool of the lodge or take any of the optional activities the lodge offers.

This morning, you will be transferred by motorboat and land transportation to the town of Guapiles to have a delicious lunch, then you will take a semi-private shuttle transfer to La Fortuna, the closest town to Arenal Volcano area.

Spend 2 hours in the morning exploring the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Enjoy a wonderful, panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal from the bridges before continuing to the breathtaking Rio Fortuna Waterfall, which drops 35 meters into a large, natural pool.

Take a hike down the waterfall, passing through spectacular flora and fauna on the way. The falls spill over into smaller, gentler cascades along the way and forms pools in places. Take a dip in one of these pools if you want to.

After a busy morning, we will enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch and take a rest. At 3:30, we will continue on a 1 and 1/2 hour guided hike through rainforest trails which will take us to the main observation viewpoint of the volcano.

After this gentle hike, we will jump into the relaxing mineral hot springs of Baldi, where we will certainly soak away every muscle pain and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Free morning to sign up for an optional adventure if you want to. The area has numerous choices for adrenaline junkies. Be it a canopy zip-line tour, an ATV tour, canyoning, caving, chocolate tour, or mountain biking, La Fortuna is sure to provide you with a hair-raising experience. After lunch, you will be transferred by semi-private shuttle transportation back to your hotel in the capital.

Today is the day of your departure. At a predetermined hour, our representative will be there in the hotel to drive you to the airport.
