It was a splendid introductory trip. The guides in each city were very good; the the cities themselves were fascinating. We chose our own restaurants which was easy. The museums were quite spectacular, and if you like art Botelo is a master of painting and sculpture. I must say I was confused about the preparatory organization, since it all seemed to be done on-line; and did not come together in a package for us until a few days before we arrived, but in the end the logistics were excellent. The cars and guides arrived on time at every stop, and the hotels were very good. So all in all, well done.

This is a fabulous trip if you love hiking and being in nature. In the whole week we only encountered one other person on the trails, so lovely. The terrain was varied with some longer ascents and descents but our efforts were rewarded with lovely views. Although there were 14 of us in my group we were all of a similar pace so the walks were very enjoyable. The accommodation was of a good standard and it was so lovely to eat traditional Bulgarian and local speciality dishes everyday. There was plenty and the choice of desserts every night was a real highlight. I highly recommend this trip. Go ahead and book it. You will not regret it!

As an Exodus employee, this was my first Exodus trip and a fantastic way to experience Costa Rica firsthand. Our leader, Johnny, was outstanding throughout, and the combination of incredible wildlife, beautiful scenery and a welcoming group atmosphere made it a memorable experience. The tour and the guide were excellent, and we saw a lot more than we were expecting in Havana. They were also flexible in letting us see some places on our list so we appreciate it. The hosts in Varadero were also very accompanying especially when we asked to stay a couple extra nights. Overall the tour was fantastic.

This was the first trip for my husband and me with Explore, or any organised tour group, and we really enjoyed it. Explore were recommended to us by a friend and we’re looking forward to using them again. The countryside, towns and villages where we walked and visited were lovely and the background provided by our excellent guide Gennaro added loads of interest. The itinerary was well paced and impressively varied. I struggled a bit with the sheer number of steps on the day we visited Capri (this walk was graded as leisurely!) and was concerned that later walks (graded as more challenging) would be beyond me. In the event they were fine - I found them slightly easier. We liked the hotel with its great view from our window and from the terrace. Our room had a shower only though I think some may have had a bath. The staff were unfailingly helpful and I especially appreciated the efforts they made to accommodate my unfondness for seafood. Our expert guide Gennaro was key to the success of the holiday. He looked after us with great care and thoughtfulness and had a concern for his group that went beyond professionalism. His enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge were impressive and he had clearly planned his talks carefully so that they would be interesting and not too long, easy to grasp, and would build on what he’d told us previously. A great holiday for anyone who enjoys walking.

We loved the La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Sarapiqui River tour! La Paz is beyond beautiful with orchids, hummingbirds, frogs, toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots, coatis, sloths, ocelots, margays, and a jaguar. The gardens and waterfalls are exquisite. A wonderful buffet lunch was included. Our trip down the Sarapiqui River in a covered boat was so much fun! We saw two caimans, iguanas, Anhingas, swallows, butterflies, and five troops of Mantled Howler monkeys. Oscar and Armando, our guide and driver were so kind and taught us so much. We stopped at a lovely coffee finca to see the beans ripening, a sopa (local restaurant) in the mountains to take in spectacular waterfall and hummingbird views, we watched whitewater rafters, and sampled fresh pineapple at a farmstand. Oscar and Armando treated us like family and made our first day in Costa Rica amazing!

My wife and I just returned from an amazing 11-day trip to Costa Rica. Yuliana helped us to put together a private tour designed specifically for us. The Upper Mustang trek was a truly wonderful journey, especially in combination with the Tiji Festival. The mix of hiking, jeep transfers, and overnight stays in tents made it feel like a genuine expedition. The support from the entire staff was outstanding. Our tents were set up for us each day and taken down again as soon as our group departed for the next stage of the trek. Every morning, we were welcomed with a cup of warm water or tea, and upon arriving at camp each afternoon, we were provided with a bowl of hot washing water, a much-appreciated comfort after a long day on the trail. Upper Mustang is an extremely dusty region, and you certainly notice that during the trek. Fortunately, we were able to avoid most of the roads by taking hiking trails, and many of the trekking days were demanding and sometimes strenuous. Daily altitude changes were significant, often climbing from around 3,000-3,200 metres to over 4,000 metres, then descending again before making another ascent the following day. This made the trek a rewarding challenge every day. Despite the physical demands, our entire group enjoyed every moment of the experience. I would like to thank all the staff and guides once again for their excellent support, professionalism, and outstanding service throughout the trip.
