Costa Rica Family Journey: From Rainforest to Coast

The trip was a fun family adventure. There were opportunities to learn, experience the culture, food, and understand more about the history and current landscape. It was more than a vacation, it was an adventure!

Great trip! The guide took all the guess work out of the trip. We were exceptionally lucky with the group of people we were traveling with. The whole small group seemed to really get along.

I can?t wait to have another Nat G experience.

Nat Geo family expeditions give an awesome mix of exposure to the local culture, a variety of experiences that you would likely be too overwhelmed to put into an itinerary on your own, and high-quality accommodations and food. Good CEOs really set this apart, since they can absorb and correct the hiccups, leaving us to just enjoy the trip. Their local knowledge and translation service was above and beyond our expectations.

I can?t think of a better way for our family to experience the beauty of the landscapes, people, wildlife and culture of Costa Rica than through this National Geographic Family Journey by G Adventures. So much was taken care of, so we could focus on making memories as a family!

"It was the best trip I have ever taken and I hope to take it again. I wouldn't change a thing." Ella (age 9) I loved that this trip was exactly what I wanted it to be. I wanted to have a variety of experiences that engaged me and my child. I loved that my daughter made friends and they had so many opportunities to be adventurous. Our group was so kind and fun. Our CEOs were amazing. It felt like an idyllic week+. I also loved that we could not do activities and there were still things for us to do (for example, we didn't want to pay for an optional hike so we spent a great morning by the pool). I loved all the places that we visited where we were learning about what the locals were doing for their community (Monteverde Institute and Cafe Monteverde) and my daughter loved ziplining and everything active. We both loved all the time we got to spend finding animals. It is a challenge to meet the interests of so many ages and backgrounds but this trip succeeded. We loved it!

The main purpose of this trip was for my 17 year old grandson who has Autism. He took part in every activity and loved everyone of them from tubing in the rapids to swimming at the falls to zip lining, etc. He interacted with all of the kids and adults on the tour. Special thanks to Gracie and Mandi. I was limited in walking, but loved every minute of it.

A trip that will be forever remembered by our family. We loved the guides, the locations and meeting other amazing families to share it with. Thank you!

Adventures were definitely had, experiences shared, and friends made...in summing up this tour I'd say it met expectations and any small shortcomings were shadowed by what the trip meant for our family.

Great trip, it was wonderful. The guides and other families added a lot to the experience. Cloud forest and Rincon were especially nice as well as Palo Verde boat tour, and these regions were so unique. Would recommend this trip to others, it was great!
