Your cultural journey wraps up at Los Paredones, an archaeological site showcasing remnants of Inca civilization. With your guide revealing the stories and secrets behind these ancient walls, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the region’s layered history.

This tour stands out for offering a concentrated, expertly guided glimpse into both Nazca’s mysterious geoglyphs and remarkable feats of early engineering, making it a must for travelers with a curiosity for Peru’s past and a desire for memorable sightseeing in Nazca.

Overview

We will pick you up directly from your hotel in Nazca and take you on a 4-kilometer journey west of the city. Our first stop will be at the impressive Cantalloc Aqueducts, a marvel of hydraulic engineering built over 1,500 years ago by the ancient Nazca culture. Upon arrival, we will disembark and begin a fascinating guided expedition where you`ll uncover the secrets and history behind this incredible construction.

Our expert guide will reveal the intricate details of how these underground channels, built with stone slabs and huarango tree trunks, continue to irrigate the valley`s fields to this day. Out of the 46 aqueducts found, 32 are still operational, maintaining a connection between ancient and modern agricultural practices. Along the way, you`ll observe the distinctive "puquios," spiral wells used for ventilation and system maintenance—a truly remarkable sight in the heart of the desert.

Next, we’ll hike up a picturesque hill where a stunning geoglyph, a testament to ancient Nazca art, will unfold before your eyes. After this awe-inspiring moment, we will descend to a nearby viewpoint to appreciate one of the iconic Nazca Lines.

To end the adventure, we will visit the Inca site of Los Paredones, an archaeological gem dating back to 1450 AD. Here, you`ll be transported back to the time of the Inca Empire`s expansion, marveling at a structure that has withstood the test of time, connecting Nazca`s glorious past with the present.

At the end of the tour, we will return to the city of Nazca to drop you off at your hotel.

Smooth, Scenic, and Superbly Organized I joined a 6-Day Marangu Route hike with Kilisa Tours, and the whole experience was seamless. The accommodations in the mountain huts were cozy, and the support staff made sure we were always comfortable. Our guide shared fascinating stories about the mountain s history and wildlife. Everything ran perfectly on schedule, and the company s attention to detail was impressive. I ve done many treks before, but Kilisa Tours stands out for their genuine care and world-class service. Couldn t have asked for more!
