Outstanding Trip in China

Jovi did an outstanding job putting together our Itinerary for a 15-Day Trip to China, from which we have just returned. From start to finish the guides, hotels and the scheduled activities went off smoothly. We would like to recommend Linda Xu and Vivian Wang, the rep who arranged our trip, ifi you are looking for a company to arrange your trip to China.

Lovely Tour to Guilin

The organisation of our tour by Mandy Zhu was perfect. We were looked after throughout every section of the tour, met at destinations by very knowledgeable and friendly guides, who all spoke very good English, and driven in comfort by competent drivers. The whole team made us feel we were in good hands, and helped us learn and understand the history of the many places we visited. I would highly recommend Heziqing to anyone planning a customised tour through China. They were flexible to our requirements, and gave us good advice throughout.

unforgettable tour in Tibet

I want to thank Jojo for organizing the Tibet tour for me. If you got Jojo as your travel consultant, you are in good hands! She's attention to details, quick to response and goes out of her way to help address any questions and concerns that you may have. Although I experienced severe high altitude sickness, I managed to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Tibet had to offer. Our tour guide Dawa and our driver Dr. Guo were awesome. They were very patience and understanding. If you have to chose between standard hotels vs comfort hotels, chose comfort hotels. Some of my fellow travelers regretted booking standard hotels. Just beware, they don't have non smoking hotel rooms. The hotel rooms reeked with cigarette smoke, which got me sick at the end. My tour guide tried to get me a non smoking room, but all the rooms are the same. Overall the Tibet trip was a wonderful experience!

This tour was fascinating, if challenging in places. The Wall sections walked covered a good range of types from rammed earth banks, to steps large and small, and steep hillside climbs. The views were fabulous, and there was a real sense of history on the unrestored sections, which we more or less had to ourselves. The incidental visits: boat trip, tombs, Beijing sights, were great and a good trigger for Oliver our guide to share cultural history with us. We mostly walked to the guesthouses from the Wall, and met our luggage there. All the accommodation was clean and comfortable - it generally exceeded expectations. We ate as a group every night, in local restaurants which were uniformly delicious, and around 100-150 yuan a night. Added to a good breakfast a few snacks were all that was needed to get us through the day so no time was wasted on lunch, which was a bonus. Bring gloves and boots with good grip, and poles for slippy downhill sections.

An excellent holiday, covering all the key highlights of China in a pacy and interesting way. Tracy Zhang our guide was excellent and expertly navigated us through the complex logistics of our travel between cities and our sightseeing excursions. Delicious food and lovely places, thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you!

China Tours — Highlights and Travel Tips

China Tour Highlights

  • Wander the Summer Palace in Beijing
  • Explore incredible Buddhist art in the Mogao Caves
  • Cross part of the Great Wall of China
  • Walk through Beijing’s Forbidden City
  • Visit Qin Shi Huang’s Terracotta Army in Lintong District

China Travel Tips

  • Don’t go looking for the ‘Chinese’ food you’re accustomed to eating at home. Proper Chinese cuisine is mostly simple meat and cooked vegetables, and is very different from what you’ll find in Westernised Chinese restaurants.
  • The only currency you can use during your China trip is the yuan (or RMB). Businesses will not accept Hong Kong dollars or US dollars. If you can’t exchange currencies before you travel, many large banks allow you to exchange money using their ATMs at a reasonable exchange rate.
  • Receive a compliment? Don’t say thank you - it’s a sign of vanity. Refuse them - it’s polite.
  • Many websites are blocked in China, including Google (Gmail) and Facebook. If you desperately need these tools to contact friends and family back home, seek advice from the locals. WeChat is one of the most popular messaging app that you can download and use while on your China tour.
  • Purchasing a Chinese sim card for your mobile phone is simple and cheap. Carriers even offer a service where you can call to request directions and they text you the address in Mandarin for easy communication with taxi drivers.
