This aas a great road trip, made more so by the excellent tour manager and local guide who were with us from go to whoa. It included all that we expected from the published itinerary plus a few surprises that enhanced the overall experience. We got both sides of the story of modern Tibet in a dispassionate way, enabling a good understanding of this great region.

Great journey!

I recently had the pleasure of touring Beijing with an amazing guide Steven and driver, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we were picked up, everything was well-organized, smooth, and enjoyable. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. He shared fascinating insights about Beijing’s history and culture, making each site we visited even more meaningful. Their enthusiasm and storytelling brought places like the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven to life. They also gave us great recommendations for local food and hidden gems, which made our trip even more special. The driver was equally fantastic—always punctual, professional, and courteous. Navigating Beijing’s busy streets can be challenging, but our driver made it feel effortless. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making our journey stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our guide and driver. I highly recommend their services to anyone visiting Beijing.

Great trip with the good services & peoples!

I recently booked my personal customised tour of 6 cities through this company. Alina took the best personalised care for me. The communication and arrangement throughout 6 cities was with army precision and I felt supported in every step of the way especially when I needed last minute changes from Zhangjiaje to Chengdu. I'll be recommending this tour to all my friends and will definitely use Alina again for my future trip of Lhasa and Tibbet. Coming to local guides Julian at Shanghai, Max at Zhangjiaje, Shemy at Chongqing, Betty at Chengdu, Eillen at Xian, Momo at Harbin and Jiang at Beijing all were amazing. The last part of trip was made memorable by Jiang 's sense of humour and personal care of details. Thanks. Highly recommended and will be there for south part next year.

Wholeheartedly recommend!

As a solo traveler seeking to connect with fellow partners, I opted for the cost-effective option of a group tour. After thorough online research, I discovered this company. The "15 Days China Tour in a Small Group" caught my attention. Joining this tour proved to be an incredible experience. From the awe-inspiring historical sites in Beijing and Xian to the captivating landscapes of Tibet, every moment left a lasting impression. The serenity of the Holy Tibet enhanced the overall relaxation on this small group tour. Wrapping up the journey in vibrant Shanghai was the perfect ending. I wholeheartedly recommend it to others!

WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE

More than a simple trip, our fifteen days in Nepal and Tibet were an unforgettable experience and a wonderful discovery. A very big thank you goes to this local tour operator and its Managing Director, Mr. Kaum Bahadur Subedi, who provided us with expert drivers (absolutely essential on the roads of Nepal) and guides with great expertise and experience. I want to especially mention Rem Raj Gurung who introduced us to the wonderful temples of Kathmandu, now all restored after the 2015 earthquake. A very useful exercise for me also who had visited those temples in the past. Even more exciting was traveling across the Tibetan plateau. We entered from the border with Nepal - which in itself is an adventure - and we traveled the long way that leads to Lasha, crossing a powerful and unforgettable landscape. Along the plateau we had the Himalayas on the right with its snowy peaks (we also went to admire the north face of Everest with a half-day detour) and on the left another long chain of mountains that outlined a landscape that is hard to find the words to describe. And then the unforgettable discovery for me, thanks to the guide that Mr Kaum made available to us for Tibet, a profound expert on the religiosity of the Tibetans. The discovery of a people who still live in a deep connection with their past and traditions: in religion, in clothing, in language. But I also found a genuine willingness towards foreigners. And we were among the few Westerners to visit the country. We also have a beautiful memory of Lasha, a modern city that lives with a past whose strength still seems very alive.

Really Enjoyable

I really enjoyed my time in Tibet and I appreciate all of your hard work which made everything go smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised that only one other person was on my tour which made it so much easier to travel around the monasteries and the Potala Palace. I particularly enjoyed meeting our tour guide and I'm so glad that your company employs local Tibetans to share their knowledge. The hotel was in the perfect location and the breakfasts there every morning were so delicious. The airport transfers were so helpful, too and the driver did a great job keeping us safe. My only wish is that we could have squeezed in one small sightseeing trip the last morning before heading to the airport around noon, but I understand that would be complicated with larger groups where people fly out at different times of the day. Thanks again!

Lhasa — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Lhasa Tour Highlights

  • Explore the wonderful Potala Palace, an elevated royal residence which is the most prominent site in the city. It will certainly be the highlight of your tour to Lhasa.
  • Get lost in a maze of colorful stalls at Barkhor Street Market, where you can shop for souvenirs to remember your trip.
  • Pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, which shines with its golden rooftops. When you witness the pilgrims and feel the divine atmosphere, you can see why the locals consider this to be the holiest temple in Tibet.
  • Visit the Namtso Lake and be in awe of the incredible natural scenery on display. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the azure lake offers a dramatic photo opportunity.
  • Don’t forget to explore Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. The decorations are superb, and the flower garden makes this residence a sweet spot to wander around.
  • Discover Ganden Monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. Besides its religious significance, it is also worth visiting for its location in the picture-perfect Kyi-Chu valley.

Lhasa Travel Tips

  • Don’t discuss the political situation in Tibet. This is a very sensitive topic in both Tibet and China.
  • It is compulsory to obtain a Tibet entry permit before traveling to Lhasa.
  • Individual travels into Tibet are not allowed. The only way to get around is via a travel agency.
  • Even though the snowy summits of Tibet are tempting you for a quick hike, it’s best to take it easy to decrease chances of altitude sickness.
  • Don’t take photos of Buddha statues in monasteries, for these are considered to be sacred.
  • Bring a cap and sunglasses; sun rays are brutal on high altitude, and the snow makes it even more intense due to the reflection of the sun.
