Costa Rica: Rainforest & Beach Adventure

Meet our representative upon arriving in Liberia Airport. Receive the information package that contains your travel itinerary in detail, vouchers for services and other important documents related to your trip.

Head for the Rincon de La Vieja area, around an hour away from the airport. Your hotel is located near the national park and is surrounded by the tropical dry forest common of this area. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. You are free for the rest of the day. Relax by the or take a walk on the surrounding trails.

Hit the trail in the morning. Enjoy a 3-hour hike through the dense forest of the national park while enjoying great views of an active volcano, especially from the Las Pailas section of the national park.

The trail you will take today is a 3-mile loop that traverses various altitudes and landscapes. See a wide variety of vegetation as well as primary and secondary forests that are home to beautiful mammals such as raccoons, white-nosed coatis, Central American agoutis, armadillos, white-tail deers, tapirs, and three species of monkeys. Some of the most common birds that you might encounter are the blue-crowned motmot, the crested guan and the emerald toucanet.

Continue along the trail and enjoy great views of the active volcano. You’ll also find gushing rivulets and small waterfalls crisscrossing the trails. The tour leaves your hostel at 8:30 AM in the morning. Return to the hotel after the hike is over. Take rest in your hotel or book an optional tour.

Experience one of the best zip lines in the country. Glide past trees and cliffs as you fly over a narrow river canyon. Your playground is the spectacular White River Canyon, formed by erosion over millions of years. You are free for the rest of the day. Pamper yourself at the hotel's spa if you want to (optional).

Transfer to Tamarindo, located 1.5 hours away from Rincon de la Vieja area and known for its beautiful white sand beach. The driver will pick you up around mid-morning and take you straight to the beach.

Explore the beach and take a dip in the warm waters of the tropics. Don't forget to see sunset from the beach before heading back to the hotel.

You are free today. Take a leisurely stroll through Tamarindo's streets and explore the coastal town at your own pace. In case you want some activity, there are several shops in town that rent surfboards, bicycles, ATVs and golf cars.

Time to enjoy sailing in the Pacific today. Hop on a 66-foot modern catamaran in the afternoon.

Once on board the catamaran, a crew member will give a briefing before the boat leaves the shore for one of the most pristine beaches in the area.

Look out for turtles, dolphins, flying fish and whales en route. The boat will pull up at a secluded bay and drop the anchor. Snorkelling equipment will be provided for you to dive into the water and admire the colorful reefs and exotic sea life. Some of the most common marine creatures you will encounter underwater include tangs, puffers, porcupine fish, eels, starfish, sting rays and seahorses.

Have a light lunch while the anchor is pulled back. Leave for your hotel as the sun nears the horizon and the sky melts in thousands of colors (please note that this sailing trip is also available in the morning).

Say goodbye to the beautiful Costa Rica and its people for it is time to travel back home and reunite with your family and friends. One of our drivers will pick you up at the hotel and take you straight to LIR International Airport, located just 1 hour away from the hotel. You will have to reach the airport 3 hours prior to the departure time.
