Introducing Colombia
Colombia is a country made for customized tours; colorful towns like Cartagena and Barichara, sprawling coffee plantations, the lush Amazon rainforest, and pristine beaches studded with hammocks and party cabanas. Columbia is full of contrasts, where the festive atmosphere of cheerful carnivals clashes with the solitude of a journey to the Lost City. From hiking to beaching to exploring, Colombia has something for everyone.
Difficult to decide what all to incorporate in your personalized Colombia trip? Our local travel experts in Colombia will make it easier for you. Vamonos!
When to go to Colombia
The best time to visit Colombia is between December and March when the mountains are dry—great for highland vistas. During this time the humid rainforest is also a little more pleasant and coastal areas are nice and hot. The months from September through October are the hottest and wettest, so if you are planning a customized tour to Colombia during this time, make sure to include some beaches and perhaps Tayrona National Park. How long to stay in Colombia
We suggest that you spend at least seven days in Colombia to soak up its major sights. Shorter jaunts are usually meant for specific activities and destinations. For example, a three-day jungle trek in Camino Verde. However, if time is the least of your concern, we suggest that you splurge on a three-week Colombian adventure to truly discover Colombia, its people, and its secrets. Learn more.
Must-visit destinations in Colombia
Bogotà tops the list as a cultural city, with its gorgeous botanical gardens and a museum dedicated to objects made of gold. The Cocora Valley, for its coffee plantations framed by the towering mountains is also a must-visit. Find time to relax on the beach on San Andrés Island, a true Caribbean gem, and any Colombia custom tour is incomplete without Cartagena, the beating heart of the country’s culture and heritage.
