Itinerary

Discover the remote beauty of the Manaslu region on a fully supported lodge trek featuring spectacular mountain scenery, rich Tibetan culture and the unforgettable crossing of Larkya La Pass.. Rising to 8,167m (26,795ft), Manaslu is the world's eighth-highest mountain and the centrepiece of one of Nepal's most rewarding trekking adventures. Open to trekkers only in recent decades, the Manaslu Circuit offers an exceptional journey through dramatic Himalayan landscapes, remote Buddhist villages and a rich Tibetan-influenced culture in one of the country's most unspoilt mountain regions.
Beginning among the terraced fields and subtropical forests of the Budhi Gandaki Valley, the trail gradually ascends through an ever-changing landscape of deep river gorges, alpine meadows and high mountain wilderness. Along the way, you'll pass ancient monasteries, colourful prayer walls and welcoming villages where centuries-old traditions continue to shape daily life.
Well-paced acclimatisation days provide opportunities to explore the region, including an optional hike to Manaslu Base Camp, before the unforgettable crossing of Larkya La Pass (5,106m / 16,752ft). Surrounded by a breathtaking panorama of snow-covered Himalayan peaks, this iconic high mountain pass is the defining highlight of the trek and one of Nepal's most spectacular Himalayan crossings.
The journey concludes with a scenic descent into the greener valleys before returning to Kathmandu, completing an unforgettable adventure through one of the Himalaya's most remarkable trekking regions.

Just back from completing the Manaslu circuit trek. An amazing experience, camping in the snow at Punggen Gompa. Crossing the Larke La ,so close to the Manaslu massif was really special. Our porters , kitchen crew, Sherpas and guides were all fantastic. The food was another highlight, different meals every day. I would highly recommend this trek as an alternative to the more popular routes. 10 out of 10 . Thanks again to all the crew and my fellow trekkers for a really memorable time. Cheers.

This was an incredible adventure supported by excellent guides Juddha and Sandeep and their incredible team. We had snow, rain and sunshine and their attention to detail to make everything work so smoothly was really appreciated. The scenery is fantastic- you need to be there to really appreciate the grandeur of the mountains. The cooks did an amazing job in field kitchens offering so much variety- you certainly don’t go hungry. Cleanliness is noticeable - no one in the group became unwell and Juddha and his team is monitoring all for any signs if illness. They keep you slow to avoid the altitude sickness so you have time to really enjoy the environment. I would really recommend this trip.

This trip was beyond all expectations. We had wonderful help from guides, Sherpas, porters and mule friends. We had a wonderful group. The Himalayan experience is always good but this was everything for me helped by some nice weather when the peaks were close by.

My recent trip to Manaslu was a 10/10 experience. It become abundantly clear on multiple occasions on my trek why choosing to adventure with World Expeditions is worth while. Firstly, the professionalism of the guiding team made me feel safe & confident at all times, I knew that if any challenge arose they would be able to meet it. Secondly they hygiene of the cooking staff was exceptional, I saw multiple occasions where travellers who had DIY'd their hikes became sick & unwell from the multiple different food establishments they had to chance along the way - with World Ex you have the same consistent & meticulous cooking team that travel with the group so you know what to expect & not a single person in our trip got sick from food. Also the food quality & variety was super impressive for how remote we were, each day they surprised us with how unique & diverse the food could be. I would highly recommend this particular trek to anyone who wants to get extremely close to mountains that are over 6000, 7000 and 8000m. The camping spots & routes that we took exceeded my expectations of how immersed we would actually be with huge peaks surrounding us. Although other hikes in the Himalayas have their own benefits, Manaslu is for those who want to get up close and personal with the giants all whilst seeing far fewer tourists. A winning combination.
