Itinerary

For adventure seekers ready to test their limits, the "Everest Base Camp Trek & Island Peak Climb" is the ultimate Himalayan challenge. This 19-day guided tour for young adults takes you from Kathmandu via Lukla into the heart of the Khumbu, trekking through iconic villages like Namche Bazaar and Lobuche before reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters.

The journey continues to Island Peak (Imja Tse), standing tall at 6,160 meters, offering a non-technical yet physically demanding climb suitable for both novices and seasoned trekkers. With built-in acclimatization days, contingency planning, and a training program, safety and comfort are prioritized throughout. Stand atop Island Peak for panoramic views of some of the world’s highest mountains before descending through picturesque Pangboche and back to civilization.

What makes this tour stand out is the rare opportunity to combine a classic base camp trek with a real Himalayan summit—an accomplishment that few travelers can claim. If you’re searching for a trip that balances adventure, preparation, and unbeatable views, this is your summit-to-remember.

An Unforgettable Journey

From the very beginning of our planning stages to the summit of Island Peak, my experience was nothing short of spectacular. The pre-trip communication was a breeze - the tour organizing team was incredibly responsive and informative, ensuring all my questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Once the adventure began, the organization and logistics were impeccable. The travel arrangements, accommodations, and meals not only met but exceeded my expectations. Everything was well-planned, allowing me to focus entirely on the experience without any logistical worries. The heart of this journey was undeniably the guides and support staff. Their knowledge of the terrain and local insights enriched the trek immensely. More than that, their kindness, helpfulness, and genuine friendliness made a significant impact. It was clear they were not just professionals but also passionate about what they do, and that passion was contagious. The highlight of the trip was, of course, the climb itself. Trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC) and scaling Island Peak was an exhilarating and awe-inspiring experience. The beauty of the Himalayas is unparalleled, and the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the peak was indescribable. It was challenging, no doubt, but with the expert guidance and encouragement of our guides, it was an achievable and thrilling adventure. Overall, my satisfaction with this tour company was through the roof. I would not only recommend them but urge anyone considering a climbing expedition in Nepal to go with this exceptional team. Their professionalism, combined with a warm, personal touch, made this journey unforgettable. If you're seeking an adventure that's well-organized, safe, and filled with moments of awe and wonder, go with them.

Everest Base Camp and Island Peak

answered all questions promptly and in detail. From the moment I arrived at Kathmandu airport I was promptly met and taken to hotel where Kris met with me and reviewed itinerary for next few weeks. Travel arrangements to Lukla had to be changed because of government shutdown of Kathmandu airport and Kris took care of all changes. Upon my arrival at Lukla I was met by my guide Pembra and porter and quickly given orientation and set off on trek. Over next two weeks my guide Pembra made sure all my needs were attended to and he made sure that the pace was appropriate for terrain and my condition. Although we were ultimately unable to summit because of weather the entire experience was was incredible and views spectacular. Cannot say enough about how well I was taken care of and the care they took to ensure I had a positive and successful experience. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this local travel expert and Kris for any future trekking experience in Nepal.

EBC & Island Peak

Travelled during off peak season, July is their monsoon period so there aren’t many tourist around. Did get some good views along the way, weather is clear most of the time in the morning & the clouds set in during the afternoons & rains most of the times in the evening. As it was off peak season, many places were closed as well. However, I enjoyed the peace & tranquility during the trek without many people around and thought it was a good trade off for the weather. Signed up for Island Peak and was an unsuccessful attempt due to the weather & safety reasons. And won’t recommend others for a technical ascend during the off peak season. Had to add extra days during the trip incase of bad weather. Fortunately for me, the weather did not affect me & Krishna helped me to manage the remaining days left in Kathmandu to tour around the area and my accommodations.

Smooth, Scenic, and Superbly Organized I joined a 6-Day Marangu Route hike with Kilisa Tours, and the whole experience was seamless. The accommodations in the mountain huts were cozy, and the support staff made sure we were always comfortable. Our guide shared fascinating stories about the mountain s history and wildlife. Everything ran perfectly on schedule, and the company s attention to detail was impressive. I ve done many treks before, but Kilisa Tours stands out for their genuine care and world-class service. Couldn t have asked for more!
