Your adventure begins with a breathtaking mountain flight to Lukla, setting the tone for an expedition filled with stunning vistas and physical accomplishment. Along the trail, each day brings new panoramas of snow-capped giants, serene monasteries, and the camaraderie of fellow trekkers. day 1 - Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, trek to Phakding

Lukla is a small town with an amazing airport. There are few tea shops, lodges, hotels and general stores. You begin today’s trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountain side on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. You descend a mountain side path that merges into your route to Everest, with views to a valley to your right; and at its far end, Kusum Kang (6367m.) The Dudh Kosi approaches as you pass a Mani wall and arrive at Phakding (2640m).

day 2 - Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

This day you trek and cross the river on high suspension bridges. Beyond Monjo village (2800m.) is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve this fragile mountain environment. You then ascend quite steeply to Namche and along the way, if the weather is clear, catch a first glimpse of Mt Everest in the distance. Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu region and holds a busy Saturday market.

day 3 - Namche Bazar for acclimatization.

Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading off towards Tengboche tiny Village.

For the acclimatization, you walk up to Khunde Hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or a one hour walk up to the Syangboche (3800m) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for the outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum just above the town.

day 4 - Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867 m)

From Namche, the trail contours around the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Koshi. Now you have a glimpse of first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Passing through several villages and numerous tea shops, the trail descends steeply to a bridge over the river Dudh Koshi at Phunki Tenga (3250m.). Tengboche is also very famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region

day 5 - Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4260m)

You gradually descend through a forest, cross the Imja Khola and climb steadily up to the village of Pangboche. This is directly opposite to Ama Dablam (6,856 m), and has exceptional views of the mountain, with the Gompa, mani walls and scattered pine trees in the foreground. As you gradually ascend, you find thick forests. This part of the trail is full of thorny and juniper bushes.

A further two and half hour’s walk brings you to Dingboche. Here you can see Sherpa people working hard on the agricultural farm.

day 6 - Rest at Dingboche for acclimatization

Here you will steeply climb up to Nakartsang Gompa for the rare outstanding view of Mount Makalu (8463m) along with Lhotse, Island Peak, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. \

Another option provided is a small side trip to Chhukung which takes about 2 and half hours to go up and 1 and half hours to come back to Dingboche. There are some lodges which serve delicious food items.

day 7 - Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m)

Now you begin your trek to Lobuche via Dongla which offers you panoramic view of the mountains along the way. The tea house at Dongla is a good spot to have lunch, before zigzagging up through the boulders of the glacier's terminal moraine. At the top of this climb there are many stone caves, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who have died while climbing Mt Everest. The path then climbs gently along the glacier, to eventually reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche.

day 8 - Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep & Everest Base Camp

Trek from Lobuche (4900m) to Gorakshep (5180m) takes about three and half hours. You will lunch at Gorakshep, take rest in your own room and if the trekker feels fine, the participants can walk to Everest Base Camp (5486m.). You will spend about 4 and half hours trek up to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep. The trek is on glacier and snow-capped rocks. You can also see many small frozen lakes around the Everest Base Camp and return back to Gorakshep.

day 9 - Trek from Gorak Shep to Kalapatthar & back to Pangboche

Today is the climax of our trip. We start early in the morning to catch the dramatic views from Kala Patthar witnessing the first light of day shining on Mount Everest. However, we need to get prepared for an early morning, dark and cold temperatures. Plus there is always the potential for chilly winds which are quite common.

Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures.

After several hours of an ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. From here we scramble to climb the rocky outcrop near to the summit marked by cairns and prayer flags. As we reach the top, we sit on the Kala Patthar rocks our eyes taking in the unbelievable Himalayan Panorama, wandering from one mighty massif to another. We take as many pictures as we can with our camera and take the in view with our mind's eye to last lifetime.

When we return to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast followed by a gradual descent down to Pheriche for a good night's rest. Overnight in Pheriche.

day 10 - Trek from-Pangboche-Tengboche

The trail to Namche Bazaar clings to the steep wooded slope beyond Kyangjuma, winding through several bends. After passing a Chorten, we reach the army camp at of Namche Bazaar. We want to take a long last look (and picture!) back to Lhotse, the tip of Everest. On reaching our lodge, we take a nice hot shower and have very relaxed sleep in our room in Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.

day 11 - Trek from Namche Bazaar- Lukla (2800m)

The trail descends steeply downward so we need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. After crossing the suspension bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries the trail becomes more level and natural. By today we start to get warmed by the light breeze. Any remaining sore throats and colds will be gone by today as we pass through this charming mountain air.

We snap a mixture of open plains and pine forests and in the distance snow covered peaks. We walk through the Sherpa villages' noticing impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayers flag while we walk through the villages. Stay overnight at Lukla.
