Along the way, you’ll encounter Buddhist monasteries, diverse wildlife, and the rich culture of the Everest region.

Yes, I highly recommend this company. A huge thank you Chhatra, Ram, Raju, Raj, and the phenomenal driver who’s name I missed—for an excellent trip from December 19, 2021 to January 3, 2022. I completed the Everest Base Camp trek from 12/20-12/31 and added on two additional day tours in Kathmandu. The trek was incredible and led by Ram, an energetic senior guide, and Raj, a friendly porter. Stunning scenery and an accomplishment I’ll never forget!! On my day tours in Kathmandu, Raju filled my brain with history and cultural insights, while adapting our stops to my interests and selecting great rooftop restaurants. Chhatra was super responsive to all my questions and concerns regarding the trip and COVID-19 logistics. He arranged a PCR test at my hotel for my return to the United States and Raju walked me through picking up the results at the airport and double checking the report details. Top notch transfer service as well. The staff were attentive and provided a safe first experience in Nepal for me, a female and solo traveler. Looking forward to booking my next trek to the Annapurna region!!
I had an excellent trip, a 12 life time memory , Would definitely re book trips with this tour company. My guides Basu & Raj were brilliant and very helpful. They also organised a covid test for me at my hotel for departing Nepal. Thank you
This was an amazing trek. My guide, Gelu Tamang, was the best. He was personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and hilarious, and we became good friends over the 12 days of the trek. Count yourself lucky if you get to trek with Gelu. Chhatra did a very good job making arrangements for the trek, including permits and flights.
An amazing trip. Our guide Phinjo was awesome he knew so much and so helpful. A great company and great experience definitely recommend it!
A unforgettable trip, with an amazing guide and porter ( Dhana & Buddhabir ) that took amazing care of us from start to finish. Highly recommended this specific trek and company...Ill will be BACK to do it again!!!!
I think this was well designed, well supported trek. Good lodges, good food, well informed caring guide, at reasonable cost. What more you can ask for.... At age of 54 with reasonable preparation I could do EBC and Kala patthar only thanks to Nepal echo adventures... I wish them all the best.
Very nice and interesting trip The weather was cold and beautiful The views on the ways is wonderful
This trip was amazing! Our guide (Dorjee) was a blast to be with for 12 days he really connects with you and is very informative and booked us good teahouses. The trek it self was fun but challenging at the same time with a amazing reward of being at basecamp! I highly recommend this trip to anyone!
The trip is so great, no word can't describle. I have a lot of good memory with this.
The everest base camp trek is the best trekking I ever did! I did the trek in february and although is was a bit colder than the high season it was definitely worth it, because the crowds are also a lot less.
I had the most AMAZING time trekking to the EBC. Could not have done it without Sudip (our guide) and Raj (our porter). Together we shared many laughs along the way which helped keep the spirits high and I reached base camp on a beautifully and sunny perfect day. Look forward to going back to Nepal for some more trekking in the future.
The Everest Base Camp & Kala Patthar Trek is an incredible experience! Sudip was a great guide, who went above and beyond to ensure I was enjoying the trip - and he even organised a special cake for me on Christmas Day, which was very lovely! The trip is very well organised and the choice of tea houses is good. Sudip gave me the option to change the itinerary slightly, doing Kala Patthar in the afternoon of EBC instead of the very early wake up (which I definitely preferred), however, in hindsight, I probably would have preferred to have the celebration night in Namche and endured the huge walk the day after, instead of travelling down and staying the night in Monjo. I would also be interested to know more about the cost breakdown, as I was allowed to order anything off the menu at meal times (which was great!), but with meals differing in price, I'm unsure how Nepal Eco budgets for this. Overall it was a very positive experience and one that I would, and definitely will recommend!
Ram was a great guide for the trek! Very knowledgeable and made sure we made it!
As an amateur trekker, I can't imagine going to EBC without Raj. Raj really made this journey so special and distinct. By comparison to all the guides I have seen in the EBC trek, he was definitely the best, and it is quite obvious when you interact with him. He was always helpful, never hesitating to satisfy your needs, and was not only a fantastic guide, but also a really good person. He was very informational, friendly, and cheerful. I can say that he is a model of what a guide should be or strive to be.I'd recommend Raj to those doing the EBC trek or any other trek in Nepal, as his 10 years of experience as a guide and his personality will make any trek enjoyable even when it becomes cold and miserable from altitude sickness.
We had an excellent trek together with our very friendly, helpful and informative guide Dukpa. The trek is so beautiful and we enjoyed each day. Kala Patthar was hard but definitely worth the effort. We had a wonderful view of Mount Everest in the sunset. Perfect :-)
Trekked during the monsoon season. Was lucky to get flights there and had a great time going up to base camp, going back I encountered problems with the weather to fly out of Lukla. Luckily my guide, Narayan Rai, was resourceful enough to get me to Kathmandu by helicopter after being stuck in Lukla for 5 days due to bad weather and flights not entering in and out.
We trekked in July/August (during monsoon season) but this actually turned out to work in our favour. Although the views were more cloudy, the paths were empty and we had most of the mountains to ourselves! Chhatra briefed us well at the office beforehand and sorted all the permits and insurance. Our guide (Arun) was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the mountains, villages, local areas etc. He was also extremely helpful when one of our party fell sick from the altitude. All in all, a superb and safe company to book the Everest Base Camp trek with.
Well-organized trek, with good logistical support from the company and the guide, and of course, spectacular scenery. Food and lodging met expectations (though definitely basic). We were happy we did not get sick from the food (we avoided meat). Nepal Eco deserves credit for selecting tea houses with high standards of food hygiene. We had two reservations about the trip, mostly related to the guide (Ramesh Jirel): 1. We have been on treks before with guides that were knowledgeable about the history and culture of the region and had strong command of English. Unfortunate, our guide on this trip mostly pointed to mountains and gave their names. He provided very little commentary on the history or culture of the area, and when we asked him questions, we mostly received short replies. We often had trouble understanding his English, and had to ask him to repeat himself rather frequently. 2. At the end of our trek, we gave the guide and porter their tips separately to ensure that each person received the intended amount, but we noticed that our guide made a point of being present when we gave our tip to the porter, and left with the porter after we gave him his envelope. Then Ramesh returned to us after leaving the porter, and said that he thought we didn't give enough of a tip, because the porter "looked sad", and then suggested a tip that amounted to almost the entire cost of hiring the porter for 11 days. We felt of course very uncomfortable and bothered, because we had taken time and care to make sure that we were tipping well (and we did, even by US standards). We replied that we had researched tipping guidelines and gave on the high end of what was suggested. He then tried to ingratiate himself with us afterwards, probably in an effort to get a higher tip for himself; we think it's possible that the guide took part of the porter's tip in exchange for having chosen him to be the porter for our trek, which bothered us (why else would he walk out with the porter, and then come back). This unfortunately left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We later read similar stories online about this happening to other trekkers in the Himalayas; apparently the trekking industry has become a very good source of income for guides (the average Nepali earns about $2,500 USD/year) and somewhat of a "dog eat dog" business, with guides sometimes demanding extraordinarily large tips, a practice that is very out of line with Nepalese culture. Strangely enough, we had no issues whatsoever when we gave our guide his tip at the end of our trek, and he seemed very grateful and happy. We think that this is not the norm for the agency through which we booked or for the Nepalese people, and that we just happen to have had a negative experience in this area. We understand that tipping is an important part of a guide and porter's income. But the fact of the matter is that gratuities are voluntary and should be accepted with gratitude and appreciation, whatever the amount. Under no circumstances should a guide comment on the amount of the tip in such a way as to make the client feel uncomfortable or to pressure them into giving more. This kind of behaviour is unprofessional and significantly detracts from what would otherwise be an experience of a lifetime. We hope that Nepal Eco will take measures to educate all their guides on the standards of acceptable professional behaviour.
Chhatra has been very helpful from day one. Always quick with his replies to all my enquiries before we arrived. And continues to be very helpful throughout. Professional, jovial and courteous! Our guide Ram....the BEST! He helped everyone in the group. Always joking and smiley, even when handling difficult people and difficult situations. I was the slowest and he made sure that I was not left behind. Always encouraging. When my soles came off 1+hr before Namche, he taped them with strong tapes, smiling. & joking with asst guide Sudeep throughout! When my son fell ill, he took care of him tirelessly! We almost had to take the Rescue Heli back but Ram proceeded very slowly to Gorak Shep & EBC, checking his oxygen level n bp with the oxymeter regularly. We made it to EBC! It is Guides like him that makes a HUGE difference! Thank you Ram!!!
Big thank you to all the tour company staff for this life time experience.
Let the Himalayas blow your mind away. Absolutely scenic route throughly. Best experience for any mountain loving adventurer.
EBC trek: Hard but beautiful. Altitude sickness was very difficult, read to be warned about money being stolen and how to safeguard yourself against it.
You must be prepared for some rough conditions (cold, thin air, primitive toilets) but EcoAdventures will do everything they can to make life easier (guide the trek hikes, serve food, deliver duffel bags).
It was fantastic! The trek itself is of course amazing and our guide (Subarna Gurung) made it even better. He is a very knowledgable person, with good intuition and with great organizational skills. I was a solo treveller in a group of 5, so its worth mentioning that in every teahouse along the trek, i was given a seperate room and never had to share it with any stranger. That was great! Overall, very content with the service.
Nepal Eco was a great company and I had a blast traveling with them. I had the chance to have three separate guides Raj, Arun, and Danha (I hope I spelt them right). They were all fantastic guides with extensive knowledge and great sense of humor to keep your spirits up. I would highly recommend any of them to be used and most importantly would highly recommend using Nepal Eco as your guide company.
Thanks for organising a great trip and covering all our pre and peri questions. Good central office location and hub for Thamel before and after the trek with a sigh seeing day made easy.
Cant express how amazing this was. The guide, Jiba Sherpa, was outstanding and made it an incredible experience for my 30th birthday. Breathtaking views and laughs the whole time!
Would be the most unforgettable 2 weeks of our lives. Total kilometers trekked : 117 kms.
Absolutely mind blowing! Cannot recommend this trek enough. Challenging but very fun with the best views you'll ever see. A life changing journey!
A challenging and awesome experience. I have never done anything like this but with a little help from the guide I was able to make it through. Highly recommended challenge.
Amazing journey to EBC in Winter. Perfect sunny blue sky all along, just a bit cold at night. The guides were fantastic and the atmosphere very pleasant. Even when tired nobody forces you. Just take your time and make it to the top!
This company was fantastic from communication with the owner right through to the guide, porters and equipment they supplied for the trek
Good response from Chhatra and we had Ang Dorjee as our guide. He was fun and knowledgeable!
The Everest Base Camp / Kalapathar trek is an incredible journey to the highest part of the world. The path is pretty straight forward, but the scenery is always changing. You stay in tea houses along the way, eating at restaurants, and hiking among fellow hikers and adventurers. Once in a lifetime experience.
The Everstbasecamp trek was amazing. The group was excellent, the guide ( Ram ) was very good , he was a guide, doctor, friend and many more things. The porters are amazing aswell. 12 days is the perfect amount of days. I enjoyed it alot!
The EBC trek was by far the most beautiful and adventureous trek i've done. It combines beautiful views of iconic mountains, while walking the historic routes of the Himalaya with a lot of heritage.
We booked the EBC trek with this operator. And what a succes it was! Great organisation, even when the first 2 flights to Lukla were cancelled, there was another flight booked within minutes. But the best part of this company was the guide it gave us. Ram was our guide for the 12 day trek (+2 if you count the days waiting on the airfield for weather good enough to fly to Lukla), and he made our trek both fun and unforgettable. Although because of his young age and happy character, he is an incredibly wise guy with 17 years of guiding experience. Ram embodies the reason you book a guided trek: he is knowledgeable about culture and nature, knows the ins and outs of trekking, knows every road you walk inside out and, most importantly, he makes you feel safe and happy every step of the way. I would highly reccommend this company, and if you contact them: ask if Ram is available!
This is by far the best trek I have ever done. You have an great view at every moment along the trail. Our guide, Raj, was absolutely amazing. He spoke very good English, had the answers to all of our questions, was always checking to make sure we were ok, and offering to help if needed. He had everything organized so we didn't have to worry about anything.
The trek was challenging mentally and physically, but one of the all-time greatest experiences of my life. I still think about the experience EVERY DAY. Our group was a collection of people from all over and I was the only solo female trekker in the group of 13. I always felt looked after by our guide, Ram (Anurag Basnet), and included by the rest of the group. Ram always had our safety and well being in mind -- he was constantly checking in with everyone and we had nightly oxygen saturation tests. We had 3 assistant guides that were not just assistants, but leaders and care takers for our group (thanks to the assistants Donah, Dupka, and Bikram!!). Our 6 porters were the real heroes of the bunch -- they haul all the gear and smile while doing their job! We all managed to make it up to base camp from Lukla and back down to Lukla without any helicopter intervention -- a very successful trekking experience.
Excellent trip; amazing scenery - wonderful Sherpa villages along the way. The guides offered by this company, were very good / helpful and made our trip very comfortable.
Great company and great trek. We lost a day because of the flight from Kathmandu to Lukhla but the tour was rearranged quickly and we flew out the next day via helicopter even though our flight was cancelled again.
Great Company and an enjoyable trek. Amazing views of the Himalayan range. Definitely worth it.
The trek was gorgeous with amazing views of the Himalayas. Highly recommended!!!
The trip was really amazing. The start was a bit slow as it was nearing the end of the season and the tea houses were a bit empty, but as we go higher, it filled up and met some great people. Nick was fantastic, a lot of energy and very knowledgeable about the trek. Highly recommend the trip and Eco Adventures. Everything was made easy and simple.
Would highly recommend this tour. We really enjoyed the experience with our guide Jiba!
I absolutely enjoyed my trip with this tour operator. Chhatra responded to any questions via email in a short time and was extremely helpful. The guides were excellent and made sure you had a great trip. They were well prepared to help with any medical emergencies and made you feel safe throughout the trip.
This is an excellent way to see some of the most beautiful mountains in the world and get to know the people and culture of Nepal. I would recommend allowing at least a couple of extra days before and after your trek for your bags to catch up with you and to allow for any delays getting back to Kathmandu. You also should condition yourself for several months before the trek for multiple hours of strenuous exercise at a time. It is not for just anyone because of the altitude and steep climbs. If you want a challenging adventure vacation, this is it!
I have nothing but good things to say about this trek, guide, and company. From the moment of inquiry to the last moments with our guide, I have been satisfied. Chhatra was helpful in responding to any questions that I had before the actual trek. Arun, our guide, was SO lovely! He was supportive, compassionate and warm with our group through the easier and harder times of the trek. Thank you so much for such a fantastic experience.
From the planning before the Trip up to all the things during the trek where planned super accurate and we had amazing accommodations Our porters and guides were amazing and thanks to Ram our trip was funny all the time
Fantastic company. Everything went smoothly. Lodges were much better than expected. Small group. Could not have asked for a better guide in Arun
A fantastic experience from start to finish, Everest Base Camp does not disappoint
I was taking a round-the-world trip, and the hike to Everest Base Camp was definitely the highlight. The sense of accomplishment when you hit your goal with the amazing people you meet along the way is the best feeling in the world. I went solo (with an amazing guide and porter), and if you have trepidations about that, do not worry! Everyone does the same schedule, and the accommodations get more and more tight. You quickly make friends with the adventurous people around you. My guide, Ang Jeeva Sherpa was honestly the best. He's incredibly respectful, and makes so much effort to make you comfortable. On top of that, he has ambition and a visible drive to be the best guide on the mountain. He was studying plants, accommodations, and English slang when I was going up with him. My tour operator was definitely the most prepared in terms of medical kits and what to do when on the mountain. Some of my friends that I made along the way had the worse guide, though he was cheaper. In fact, a group of them got lost and the guide didn't get off his butt to find the group for hours. When someone from their group got a little sick and slowed down, Ang Jeeva had to lag behind to be sure everyone was okay (only because I told him it was fine since I was feeling great). Absolute amazing professional! The hike itself is not easy, but it is not as terrible as you could imagine. All I did to train was stairs a couple of times a week. Take the proper medicines prophylactically and you'll be golden. Even if you don't take prophylactics, just take it easy. Ang Jeeva made sure I took it slower than I even thought I would prefer. He took me to tons of tea houses with beautiful views and delicious warm tea. This is the mark of a real professional. Others will push you along so you'll get sick. This is a scam that bad porters and guides do to get a commission from the helicopter evacuations. The Himalayas are magical. You really do need to be immersed in the microclimate forests, weather patterns, and majestic mountains to really understand. The milky river just paints a beautiful stripe next to cliff set towns in amazing valleys. We were blessed with just perfect weather the whole way up too. I ended up being over prepared and probably could have cut back a lot. Honestly, it was an amazing trip and worth every penny I spent. The others in my group would agree, Ang Jeeva is the best guide possible. He did great with the huge group we became. Please request him by name! And bring a camera - he loves taking pictures for you.
I am very happy that I chose to do the EBC trek with these guys. The group was super nice, and our friendly guide Ram made sure we were in safe hands all the time. We didn't have to think about anything else than enjoying the hike, it was organized very well. It was a trip I will never forget, and I can absolutely recommend this company!
I had a fantastic time. My guide Lakpa and porter Arjun were the kindest and the most attentive people I could have worked with. Every tea lodge we stayed at was superb and every concern of mine was dealt with utmost care. Best customer service!
We had a wonderful trek in December 2016 to Everest Base Camp & Kalapathar. The days were clear and the mountains brilliant. 12 Days in the Himalayas with our guide, Ram Karki, who could not have been more caring and informative. Our tour operator made sure we stayed in the best teahouses along the route, with good food and our every need was catered for. Best of the best, highly recommended!
Highly recommended trek to Everest Base Camp, We had an unbelievable experience. Our tour operator ensured that everything was organised and we had zero stress or planning nightmares. Our guide was phenomenal always ensuring that we were okay and well looked after. His famous words "everything is possible"
Around every corner there is a different view from another vibrant angle. This trek is unbeatable in both prestige and delivery on the promise to mesmerize.
Just finished this trek and still dreaming about the mountains, the valleys, and the entire unforgettable experience! The trek was well-paced and organized and we always felt totally taken care of and supported. Our porters and assistant guides were constantly friendly and helpful, and our main guide, Ram (The Man), was Super Awesome. He was prepared, knowledgeable, and endlessly patient, while also being easy-going and great fun to be around. He went out of his way to make our trip special and memorable, and that we were always healthy and happy. He's got a big heart and an even bigger smile--just an all around superstar! Our small group size (6) was also perfect, which was key to enjoying the trek to the max, and something this company always provides. All of our group--with various levels of fitness and trekking styles--had a wonderful experience and were very happy with our trek.
This trek allows you not only to see wonderful views of Everest and other Himalayan mountains, but also to experience the life of the people living in the villages that you pass through. It gave me a much deeper appreciation of the place and the locals who thrive in these environments. Watch out for the sunset in Tengboche and Dingboche. And the sunset view from Kala Patthar is incredible!
My wife and I did the 13 day Everest Base Camp Trek in May 2016. It was definitely an incredible experience. Tall mountains, high passes, Sherpa culture, beautiful scenery....the list goes on.
The Everest base camp trek was a once in a lifetime experience! The trek itself is challenging but not as difficult as I was expecting. The views you have of the himalayas are breathtaking and make the stomach issues, altitude headaches and sleepless nights all worth it! Base camp itself is quite underwhelming but the feeling you get when you reach your destination is the best! I would highly recommend this trek!!
amazing trip.. scenery, guides and porters all wonderful people. you are in safe hands. please note you will be expected to pay 150 USD in tips.. this is something mentioned in the meeting when you start your trip and then re-enforced by the guides on the trip. my only suggestion is there should be one more day overnight at the top of the mountain as the day of the basecamp walk was incredibly long, followed by a 4am start to see kala patter - everyone in my group was totally wiped on these days..
An amazing trek through some of the world's most breathtaking scenery. We did the trek just before the crowds of high season, so it was a bit cold at night but nice and quiet on the trail during the day. Be prepared for some hard days walking and high-altitude breathlessness, but all is compensated by the epic scenery.
From the first e-mail to the drop off at the airport everything went nice and smooth. Chhatra from the tour agency answered my mails quickly and all the questions and changes I wanted to make were answered and attended to without any problems. The trek itself was an amazing experience. Had the pleasure of trekking with the guides Ram, Arun and Sudip and 5 other trekkers. Ram is extremely experienced and a really cool guy, Arun is young, helpful and awesome, while Sudip stayed more in the back and made sure everyone was keeping up. Will highly recommend all the guides. Will definitely be back for more treks in the future!
From my first E-mail exchange with Chhatra I knew that I was in good hands. He was very quick in replying to my many questions and was very flexible with my starting date. I soon found myself picking up my sleeping bag and trekking poles (which the tour company was happy to let me borrow) from Chhatra's office, ready to start my trek to Everest Base Camp. My guide; Ram, was great! I would not have survived without him. He was quite knowledgeable about the trail and never became annoyed at my many questions, in particular 'which mountain is that' and 'which one's Everest' Ram always made sure I was feeling well before we began our trek each day and checked my oxygen saturation and pulse almost every night. During our trek Ram would let me walk in front so I could set the pace, I never felt like I was too slow or that I couldn't keep up. My overall experience was very positive. Highly Recommend!
They did a fantastic job. Happy with booking through bookmundi and happy with my trekking agency. Thanks.
I came over to Nepal by myself, planning to do a trek to Everest Base Camp. I exchanged emails with a few highly-rated companies. Chhatra was very responsive and helpful. I met him in person in Kathmandu and knew I'd picked the right company. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go by myself with a guide or join a group. Chhatra explained all the options he could set up for me, and I ended up joining one of his groups that was leaving a few days later. It was quite the adventure and was a successful trip. Chhatra is also an expert on all things Nepal so he was able to give me a lot of advice about other things to do in Nepal.
My friend and I had time constraints and the local tour operator was able to accommodate the dates whilst ensuring safety was not going to be an issue. We completed the trek very satisfactorily, even sooner than we had anticipated and had no altitude sickness issue whatsoever. We were very happy for the customized service and the professionalism and flexibility. We used the operator recommended by friends and I would also recommend them. Regards.
We had a fantastic experience trekking from jiri to Mt Everest (Kalapatar). We were a bit nervous about the situation after the Earthquake in april 2015 but we have felt very safe during all of the trek. This is also thanks to our guide from our tour operator which did an excellent job and were very well-know with the conditions in the mountains. He did his best at all time to make it a great experience and help us reach our goals. The company provided a very good service from the day we arrived in Kathmandu till after the end of our trek. Highly recommended as a choice of trekking Company.
Fantastic trip and excellent service. The company owner Chhatra was always available, quick to respond to queries and gave sound advice, has a genuine service attitude and is very friendly. I felt in very good hands. My guide Shiva was extremely nice, helpful, and very knowledgable. I had a number of fellow Trekkers telling me that I seemed to have a lot of luck with my guide. One person said: I rather listen to your guide than mine. Another fellow trekker without a guide said: if I ever do another trek in Nepal I'll make sure I get Shiva as my guide.
I can't say enough about Chhatra and his company. Just amazing from start to finish. The level of care and attention to detail was superb, we changed our itinerary and these guys just fixed everything with out any hassle. I will be trekking again soon and Can't wait to see the team again. If you have a want to trek then give Chhatra a call... They treat you like family. I was part of a group of 13 and everyone feels the same. We did Everest , sight seeing in and around Kathmandu and then decided to go to Chitwan. Every day was well organised from accommodation, food and the planned route. Thanks again, look forward to seeing you , Kumar, Santosh and Dukpa again soon George
Been a first time traveller, I was a little worried by the magnitude of the adventure ahead. All thanks to this outstanding company and their employees from Chhatra the owner to all the guides and porters, Transportation staff and all of the Hotel, Lodge and service staffs which made my trip fantastic. As soon as the planed landed I was met at the airport in Kathmandu by Chhatra with a huge smile a gift and transport to the evenings hotel were we went through all the itinerary ( which is extremely flexible throughout the trip and flexible on any given day). The Trek, From the arrangements for the flight to start the trek to the meals, lodges and acclimatization days and on the day itinerary which was flexible and we had a meeting every evening to discuss the plans for the next day also to talk about the days events plus the health check. Throughout the trek twice daily our oxygen stats where measured by experienced professional guides who are highly trained in the affects of Altitude Sickness and prevention of who all carry the measuring device what simply is applied to the finger it. The company takes great care of your health and the acclimatization and professional staff are Fantastic. I know I and we built relations with the guides and porters in away that they where family/friends like. The overall trek was managed to perfection it was an experience of a life time and cant say in words the beauty of the Himalayas and Nepal I have already booked a trip back in October this year all I can say to anyone is GO its a must for all.
