Itinerary
Bask in the glow of Himalayan sunrises and immerse yourself in Nepalese culture on the Ghorepani-Poonhill-Ghandruk trek—a classic journey ideal for young adults, seasoned explorers, and travelers craving a taste of the Himalayas on a shorter timeline. Celebrated as an eco-trekking trail, this tour package weaves through lush forests, terraced valleys, and timeless villages, offering generous doses of nature, wildlife, and local hospitality.
Your adventure peaks at Poonhill (3,210m), renowned as one of Nepal’s premier sunrise viewpoints. Here, you’ll witness the dawn unveiling the colossal Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, with Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m) dominating the skyline alongside Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Himchuli, Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak. The trek’s moderate elevation ensures comfortable conditions—never too hot nor too cold—making it accessible for those new to trekking as well as more seasoned wanderers.
Throughout the journey, you’ll traverse rhododendron forests that, especially in spring, explode in vibrant colors and aromas, Nepal’s national flower painting the hillsides in pinks and reds. The varied landscapes host a rich diversity of flora and fauna, with each season offering its own unique tapestry. Along the way, you’ll encounter welcoming Gurung communities, terraced farmlands, and the gentle rhythms of rural life—an intimate window into Nepalese tradition and culture.
This tour’s unique selling point lies in its ability to pack world-class mountain vistas, cultural interactions, and ecological beauty into a manageable, short itinerary. Whether you’re a couple, a solo traveler, or seeking a group experience, this trek promises a memorable introduction to the wonders of Nepal, and a gateway to deeper adventures in the Himalayas.

Review poon hill Ghandruk tour with Nepal eco adventures
The local tour operator provided a very good, friendly and sensible guide to accompany me as a solo traveller going to poon hill circuit. The office was very organised, confirming a price quote quickly so that I could make arrangements. I'd recommend this trek, preferably out of the busiest season. I'm sure this company would make a very good tailor made tour for individual needs at any time of year.
Unforgettable trip
Fantastic Poonhill trek!
Where do I start! What a fantastic time we had. Given we had only a week in Nepal, we decided upon on the Poon Hill trek which we customised during the trek. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our guide Arun was absolutely fantastic, a wonderful and kind person who was very knowledgeable on the area and who was very open to adapting the route. Although the trek was reasonably short it was very rewarding with beautiful views at all times and incredible landscapes and on top of that the weather was excellent. The home stays were comfortable and we especially loved the place in Ghorepani. With the customisation we were walking between 15-20km per day which was great for us. We will most definitely be returning to do the ABC circuit next time and without a doubt we will be doing it with Nepal Eco.
Blooming rododendrons
A lot of steps and climbing the first 2 days, 3rd day is the best and than again 2 days of descent. First day is not that interesting and can be skipped with jeep transport, as well as the last day. Go when rododendrons are blooming! Very beautifull! I did the trek with my 8 year old daughter and she was even more energetic as myself.
Great!
Excellent company, guide, porters and everything was great. Thanks a lot.
