Bourg-en-Lavaux: Enjoy Swiss hospitality with a vineyard owner and savour the flavours of local wines, cheeses and breads, all set against the enchanting views of the Lake Geneva.
Brienz: Explore the Swiss Woodcarving Museum in Brienz and discover the artistry that defines this Alpine village. View intricate sculptures, traditional tools and works by local craftsmen. Exhibits trace the evolution of woodcarving in the region, offering insight into a centuries-old craft that remains a proud part of Switzerland’s cultural identity.
Zürich: During an orientation, your Travel Director will show you some of the highlights of this beautiful lakeside city.
Bern: Explore Switzerland's capital and see the Cathedral of St. Vincent, clock tower and Ogre Fountain.
Chillon Castle: The beautiful fortress of Chillon Castle, set on a rocky islet on Lake Geneva, is widely regarded as one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Europe. Following his walk through the dungeons in 1816, Lord Byron wrote the poem 'The Prisoner of Chillon'. Look out for his name, which he carved into a pillar.

Every town and city was great. The history was fabulous. It was a great experience.
Great itinerary! However, I would have rather had a longer boat ride on Lake Geneva and/or more free time in Montreux. The Chaplin tour and short boat ride was disappointing. The Swiss dinner in Zermatt was lower quality and overpriced compared to other dinners on the tour. Enjoyed the rest of the tour. was a superb tour director. Very knowledgeable, managed the schedule in consideration of weather and crowd control.
Loved the hotels, the Swiss Alps, and all the wonderful excursions.
Our guide, Eric, was excellent. Our group was diverse, friendly & fun. We saw a lot and did a lot! Switzerland had been on our bucket list a long time and we loved it! We do feel strongly that Trafalgar should better describe the excursions & what's involved. There was a LOT of walking and there were LOTS of steps, many without handrails! This would help people sign up for appropriate excursions. It's frustrating to sign up & pay for an excursion and not be able to do it after you get there. Be prepared for EARLY morning starts!
It was excellent. The only thing that I would have liked was to have visited the Lindt chocolate factory and museum.
The Bernina Express train ride was canceled and another train ride was substituted which consisted of several tunnels and was not the experience I wanted. The whole tour group was not able to travel the UNESCO train ride due to late booking problems. This was unexpected and disappointing.
Touched the highlights of the country. Not a rushed tour!
Through the years, I have completed 7 Trafalgar tours. Unfortunately, the tour guide was my least favorite part of this tour. Usually, it's the best part of the tour.
It was great and varied.
You get to see so much of Switzerland which I found to be the most beautiful country that I’ve ever been in. This itinerary traveled around the whole country but you never felt like you were in the bus for “too” long. Our guide was fun and you get to meet and feel comfortable with the entire group you are traveling with. Everyone was close in age. There was a commonality amongst the other passengers. I think that once we paid for this trip, the only other money we had to put out was for our own souvenirs and perhaps a small lunch or snack. Our travel agent was fabulous. Maureen, at Good Buy Travel in Orlando Park, IL, made all the arrangements and had all the details in perfect order for us to easily refer to. Any questions we might have were easily referred to in our packet. We felt that the price of the trip was worthy of the services provided.
Very relaxed pace with beautiful scenery
It was a well put together tour, informative, scenic and a very knowledgeable tour director who made the trip worthwhile
The horse and carriage ride was a waste of time and money in Saint Moritz. The other options were worth it.
The itinerary was well paced and for the most part kept to plan. Beautiful scenery and fantastic group of fellow travellers. Accommodation was varied, some very tired hotels but placed in good locations. 2 optional excursions were not made available and the Bernina Express (I travelled from Australia especially for this experience) was not available as 'they couldn't get tickets' and was replaced with a 2 hour ride on a local train. This was unacceptable. The food for our first dinner and last dinner were not the best. As for the Tour Director, being direct is no excuse for being rude and sometimes treating us like errant schoolchildren on a bus tour. I'm giving a 3 for the wonderful people on the trip. As for my first time with Trafalgar, I wouldn't risk another tour if their organisational skills and Tour Directors are so unfavourable.
I would have liked another day in Zurich instead of spending so much time in Bern. I wasn’t impressed with the bear pit and didn’t consider it a highlight. Since we arrived on Sunday most shops were closed so I feel it was a wasted trip. I was also horrified with the transfers from land to boat in Stressa. There were no piers available for safe transfers. Many of my fellow travelers had mobility and balance issues and assistance was minimal. It was a serious accident waiting to happen. The meal that evening was mediocre. Also the farewell dinner in Lucerne was poor. Pork was overcooked, salad was the best course. Zermatt, Montreux and Lucerne were delightful
That the itinerary is not always true to promise. We were promised a ride on the Bernese Mountain UNESCO train, that did not happen. We were promised to be able to see an actual wood carver carving in one of our last stops. We were taken to a wood working store, no actual carving to be seen.
The itinerary took us to excellent locations every day. The value was good.
We saw so many wonderful sites! Our days were completely filled with experiences that were well planned. was a great tour guide and extremely helpful with getting our lost luggage and so many other things.
Switzerland was beautiful. I was amazed at the scenery. The day at the Matterhorn and Klein Matterhorn the skies were so clear the views were amazing. I didn't realize that Switzerland should be a 'bucket list' item until I was there.
This Switzerland trip was beyond belief! The tours, the places we visited, the optional activities (I took all of them!), the tour guide, and the driver. I give all of these an A+ My only complaint was some of the hotels. They were a hit or miss. Some of them were incredible, but the ones in Montreux, Baveno, and Lucerne were a complete disappointment. They were so old, the furniture and decoration was depressing, and some of the rooms very small. Those awful hotels made me think twice about booking with Trafalgar again. It is unfortunate since everything else was amazing.
It was a fabulous trip, Switzerland is a beautiful country & our guide *personal info removed by Feefo* made it all memorable & our group were all beautiful people Thank you *personal info removed by Feefo*
The trip was fantastic. The hotels were all beautiful and clean. Our guide, *personal info removed by Feefo* , was what made this trip what it was. She was so much fun! She had us organized and though there were 45 of us, it didn’t seem like that many. Switzerland has the prettiest scenery we have ever seen! Thanks again to *personal info removed by Feefo*for this special trip.
Excellent trip, well planned, lovely meals, safe travel
The itinerary was very well done and the pace each day was perfect. *personal info removed by Feefo* (Travel Director) was exceptional and impressive!
Great job hitting the highlights of Switzerland!
Great tour of Iceland thanks to the EXCELLENT Tour Director and Bus Driver .
Could have done a night stop in Lauterbrunnen instead of St Moritz. Also there was no included visit to chocolate or cheese making facilities! Since Trafalgar guests are mostly seniors, hotel rooms should have walk in showers. The tubs were too high and inconvenient. Also dont make us wait to check in at hotels after arriving. With digital checkin technology available why is Trafalgar using antiquated methods??
We hit the highlights of Switzerland and had a wonderful time. We covered a lot of territory in a short amount of time. I wish the trip had been longer so as not to feel rushed. We did have a few hours in most places to lunch and shop but two nights in Italy would have been welcome at that point. , our guide, was great with stories and info of everywhere we went.
SUPERB!! Highly recommend!! Our Travel Director… & Driver……the BEST!! Spectacular Views…Great Traveling companions that are now our new found friends!! This was our fourth Trafalgar Tour& we shall always cherish the experiences & memories!!
Excellent experience!
We did see the “Best” of Switzerland. All the beautiful scenery, lakes, villages in the mountain valleys going by bus or train is amazing. Loved the Charlie Chaplin Museum and home, going to the Montreux Jazz Festival area, Chillon Castle, Lake Maggiore area; Zermatt was great and going up to the Klein Matterhorn, and being in lovely Lucerne. Enjoyed absolutely everything and a bonus with good weather. We brought home delicious Swiss chocolate, too!
My Director's tour name is simply the well-organized and knowledgeable tour guide!
The tour was very good. We really enjoyed the excursions offered, the glacier tour was a bit scary but more than expected. The local guides did a great job of explaining the areas. The castle tour was a little weak but the guide certainly gave us the history. The highlight for me was the train ride and Interlaken, the wood carving museum was also great. That guide was fantastic. The tour guide, was very good but I was a little disappointed that there was no special gift for those of us who had travelled with Trafalgar before. The welcome and farewell meals were poor, not in quality but in service, some people did not get their meals and when they finally did, the fish was not fully cooked (farewell dinner). We really enjoyed the scenery and the driver was excellent. We never really got to know the other travelers as there was no introduction, the farewell dinner was just that, no real fun because we never got to know the other travelers. We just were expected to introduce ourselves which is a bit clumsy because some of us are not outgoing. There were two couples who never rotated seating which seemed odd as there was no explanation as to why. We did find out that they suffered from motion sickness, but an explanation would have avoided those feelings. I would definitely recommend the tour but everyone should understand the costs, the meals on our own were very expensive. did suggest that when using credit card payment to select the local currency but that should have been explained earlier in the tour. The Swiss Stadtkeller event was very good but our seating was blocked behind a post and some people were not able to enjoy the entertainment in full. But I would certainly recommend this excursion, even though quite expensive, about $150 US a person. The gondola ride to the top of the mountain was absolutely spectacular but be prepared for the altitude. Zermatt was really fun, we were there for two nights which was perfect so we got to roam the area and the hotel with the balconies was wonderful. St Moritz was a little disappointing as we had no time to explore the city there was also construction in the area where our hotel was so walking about was not real attractive. The buggy ride was okay but not really worth the $60.
Fully packed with all of the wonderful sights of Switzerland. I feel like I had the opportunity to see the highlights of the beautiful country, from the mountains to the lakes to the countryside.
It should end the same place it started, so we don’t go home exhausted from such an early morning transfer and so we could actually have time in Zurich. What seemed like a good price, ended up an average price because because to see Zurich, you needed to stay on your own for a day.
Well planned. One of my favorite was Klein Matterhorn. Beautiful flowers and mountains.
It's the perfect way to experience Switzerland. Our travel director was the best that we have ever had. He was knowledgeable, prepared and personable. His proficiency in all three languages made the trip smooth with the local interactions.
