Great People, Great trustworthy Company!
Besides, the experience with Unique Adventure was great. Both guide and porter were fabulous and really kind with us. A must-do.
I had visited Nepal for the first time in October 2016. Unique adventure International name was suggested to me by a friend in India. The name truly fits to this company. They're a UNIQUE operators with good knowledge about customer needs.
We have done a 3 week Annapurna Circuit trek and a extended 2 days stay in Pohkra. All the arrangements starting from 1st day stay in Kathmandu, Arranging porters, guide, stays on the trek, stay at pohkra and the last day stay in Kathmandu, Everything was done to our satisfaction.
Mr. Khumb the owner of the company is a very good host and a true professional.
Would love to go back with more friends.
Unique adventures were a super company to choose for the trek. The guide for the trek Kamal was very informative and kept the trek fun even when it got tough..i would definitely choose Unique adventures for my future trek around Nepal and would suggest it to others.
Unique Adventure is a great service. The director Khum personally answered all of my questions and emails promptly and even took care of travel details for me that were not trek-related. Truly a hospitality professional. I knew was in good hands.
This was my first journey to Nepal and that is why I was looking for a reliable trekking agency. I have researched a lot and will divide my review into several parts. Otherwise it is hard to give a completely fair review.
Before the journey >>> 4 stars:
Unique Adventure provided a very reasonable price I was able to afford, I received a lot of information and was able to skype with possible guides, which is necessary for sure, because the English skills differ a lot.
Why not 5 stars?
One week before the vacation should start my choosen guide told me, that he will not go with me because of a conflict between him and the agency. I was shocked and honestly this was not a nice situation for me. After 48 hours the situation was clarified and I was able to go with him, but this situation was avoidable.
Communication between the agency and me during the journey >> 4 stars.
Unique Adventure provided me a sleeping bag and on the last evening I have been invited for a dinner. Unfortunately in two situations I felt lost:
a) After reaching Chitwan jungle nobody was expecting my arrival although Unique told me before that a pickup was organized. Then the agency stuff confirmed a hotel via telephone, I was dropped of there, but two hours later Unique told me, that this hotel is not the correct one, but luckily I was able to stay.
b) The pickup from the bus station after reaching Kathmandu in the end was not working and I had to go myself to the hotel in a city I am not familiar with and during the evening. That was not a nice feeling.
In general most of the organization during the trekking time is up to the guide and not the agency!!
In total I was satisfied with the hotels and service provided by the agency.
The city guides >> 2-3 stars
Unfortunately the two city guides in Pokhara and Kathmandu were not the best motivated ones. Especially the guide in Pokhara was not much into explaining the city/culture to me and most of the time he was sitting somewhere without explaining me something (2 stars). The guide in Kathmandu was a little bit better, but didn't show me all important places although we had enough time (3 stars)
The trekking guide Dipendra Budhathoki > four stars
He was taking care of me a lot and when I got a cold during the first days at the Annapurna Circuit he was able to change the plan, organized everything, so that I was able to enjoy the rest of the trekking tour by going to the Annapurna Basecamp. As I have heard not all guides are minded to change the itinerary and are not flexible, so thanks for that Dipendra.
I was a little bit sad, that he and the guide were not attending the dinner, so I was sitting allone. During the day everything worked perferctly; no headache, I except two times, I was able to sleep allone in a room (and this in October/November), he organized more food for me and, as far as I have seen, he spent more money for my meals as it was planned by the agency, so he did more than it was expected from him.
His English skills are good although he has got a strong accent.
Why not five stars?
In the end of the trekking tour he tried to express expectations regarding the tipping. He didn't really force me to pay xy Dollar, but told me about minimum and maximum tipps he ever received. Before the journey I researched a lot and I was sure about what is the range for tips. Honestly it felt not very comfortable and I hate discussions about money during vacation. BUT I was not changing my opinion; I paid the maximum of the inofficial tipping rate per day.
He didn't feel satisfied. It is a pitty that a very nice impression at all was a little bit destroyed only because of money.
And the porter was not very experienced. For me(!) it was not such a big thing, but sometimes the porter took my photo camera/smartphone without asking me to make pictures on his own. I can imagine that not all tourists are as kind as I am when something like this happens.
Unique Advenure and his manager Khum Subedi is a reliable and good trekking agency. I am not completely sure if the emloyed guides and porters are always satisfied regarding receiving their salary, but this is a general problem in Nepal I have already heard before my trip. The tourists should try as much as they can to questioning their agencies that the guides/porters are receiving their promised salary. You cannot compare Nepal with western countries for example regarding organization, because Nepal is different, but in this two mentioned situations I felt lost.
Khum Subedi is a kind person and I really would like to say "thank you" to my Guide Dipendra.
Excellent. If I return to Nepal and the Himalyas I would be very keen to engage Unique Travel Adventure again.
Unique Adventure International are a highly professional and friendly company who attended to absolutely everything we needed quickly and appropriately. I highly recommend using their service!
Unique Adventure Interantional are so nice and helpful with everything. If you want to go on holiday to Nepal then you should definitely contact them!
We planned our trekking almost a year before, Khum always keep us in contact. Whenever I have questions, Khum replies very efficiently.
Both our guide Lakpa Sherpa and porter Sand are very nice. They arranged good lodges to us, giving us help along the trekking (push us up when we leak of energy, give us a hand when we leak of confidence stepping down).
We finished our trekking a day earlier than planned, Lakpa helped to rearrange the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu well. After back to Kathmandu, Khum give good advice for our city tour.
Great trekking experience. Excellent guide. Well organized
Very professional and extremely responsive to questions. A real recommendation in case you would like to come to Nepal.
We did the above trek tour with the help of Unique Adventure International Pvt Ltd., Kathmandu headed by Mr. Khum Bahadur Subdivision.
The whole trip was organized and designed very systematically. We had an amazing tour.
The entire credit for our successful, comfortable trek trip goes to Unique Adventure. We heartily thank the organization and Mr. Khum in particular.
The company accommodated our change of route requests, which we appreciated. Friendly and responsive attention during all days of the trip.
Hotel in the last day of the trek was probably not the best option, but we were happy anyway.
Very Good experience with Good guide and porters, we change our itinerary during the Trek and no problem
Good price and also trustworthy. They offered the cheapest price, but service was enough. And through making many negotiation through using chat, the relationship with me and the company grew and we can trust each other. With the experienced guide and young porter, my trekking journey was so nice and enjoyable. After the trekking, we guide and porter went to the dinner and it was my best memory.
We had an amazing experience walking the Manaslu Circuit Trek with our guide Ven. We booked Unique Adventure beforehand as it was the best offer we got (750 USD p.p.). We had an introductory meeting with both Khum (the owner) and Ven (guide) where we discussed the itinerary.
Ven is a calm and relaxed guide which made it a good match with us. He is flexible and easy going so we were able to adjust the itinerary on a daily basis. The good price offer came with some less luxurious options concerning transport and food for which we sometimes had to pay in addition. In the end we had to pay 20 USD in addition for transport. On food we had breakfast, lunch and dinner with one drink each time included. For side dishes or drinks we had to pay extra so be aware of that and bring some cash. We spend a total of 140 USD in addition for the 14-day trip.
All in all we would recommend Unique Adventures, Khum and Ven for the good price-quality offer.
I have just returned from Annapurna Circuit trek and Unique Adventures International Private Limited had organised my trek. Though I had joined an open group, all other participants had dropped out. Khum Subedi told me not to cancel my trek as I had trained myself to do the Annapurna Circuit and was also looking forward to visiting the Muktinath temple. Khum Subedi encouraged me to trek by myself with a guide and a porter provided by him. He had assured me about security and safety. By doing this trek solo with a guide and a porter provided by him, I was able to enjoy my time trekking and also being with the mountains without any hassle. I would recommend this trek to anyone wish to trek in Nepal.
We are just back from an amazing trip round Manaslu circuit! It's our first time in Nepal and our first real trek and Unique made sure that everything went to plan! We couldn't have asked for a better time!
Khum was very responsive to emails and enquiries prior to starting the trek and very friendly and welcoming when we popped into the office to have a chat!
Khum arranged our airport transfers and invited us for dinner after the trek, we couldn't ask for more. Our guide Ram invited us for dinner at his house the day after the trek which was another great experience and shows how friendly everyone involved in Unique is.
Would definitely recommend Unique and plan to come back to Nepal to trek with them again one day (hopefully soon!)
I have had the pleasure to organize Annapurna foothill trek with Unique adventure the past months. I am now back and can revert on the experience and it was awesome!
During the preparation of the trek, the team was highly responsive. Each of their response came fast, with as much details as possible. It was needed as we were all newbies in the trekking experience and we had many concerns.
During the trek, our guide (Chris) was of great help and providing cultural information all along the way. Trek organization was perfect with lodging in cute family run tea houses. Food was great and the team even made it possible to bake a birthday cake we are talking baking at 3000m height!!).
We all had a great experience and were happy to spend time with Chris and the porters (whom unfortunately we have not been able to talk too much but we still felt we shared our experience with them, even more with smiling and attentions).
After the trek, Khum Subedi has taken great care of us. Making sure we were happy about our experience, collecting our feedback and staying in touch!
This company makes the experience complete as we feel we are part of it and not just customers.
I will definitely come back to trek in Nepal and will definitely ask for Unique Adventure to help organizing it.
One word .. Excellent !
An amazing experience with Unique ! Everything was so well planned.. !
Keep up the good work guys :)
We had a wonderful experience trekking up to ABC (even during Monsoon season), and Unique Adventures was a perfect company to book with. Our plans had to change quickly from EBC to ABC due to poor weather and the change was seamless. Our guide Venn was excellent and was very passionate about his job and country which made the Trek that more meaningful. We highly recommend Unique Adventures and Bookmundi to anyone who is looking for an incredible journey in Nepal.
We originally planned to go to EBC, however, due to poor weather conditions, the airport was shut down (completely out of the company's control). We were rescheduled to do another trek, and was very professional and accommodating. We received a very thorough and detailed break down of the costs, and got a full refund for the flight that was cancelled. We got a great service, was very reliable, and our guide (Venn) was fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
I had a wonderful time working with Unique Adventures International Ltd. They were very responsive, answered all of my questions, gave me great options and great information, and went out of their way to make sure that things went well for me. I did a solo trip and my wife was very glad that I had someone with me throughout the trip. They picked me up and dropped me off at the airport, took me wherever I wanted, went above and beyond to show me a good time and allowed me to go on the whole trip at my own pace. It was an awesome trip and I'm glad I went with them. My guide Dipendra was great, knowledgeable, friendly and took care of everything for me, and added many extra touches that showed he was committed to my experience being grand the whole time.
Kindness, availability, made me and my girlfriend feel like we met them before and were great friends.
The guide and carrier allways had a smile on their face looking at us. Outstandinc competence in telling us about Nepal, trekking history and data from the places ou passed and could see. Really accurate. Experienced, calm and warm hearted.
The best i can say is that...
IF WE COME BACK WE WILL DEFINATELY WILL WANT TO TREK WITH UNIQUE ADVENTURE INTERNATIONAL AGAIN!!! :)
My husband and I, who prefer to travel independently, wanted to do a short trek in Nepal while we were there on a 2 week vacation. We didn’t really want to do a group tour but felt it important to have a guide on the trek. I knew we could book after we got to Nepal and probably get a better deal but with so little vacation time I didn’t want to waste any of our valuable time in Nepal negotiating something that I could do online.
We try to be responsible travelers so we wanted to use a company that was based in Nepal that all the money spent on the trek would go to Nepalese people. We also wanted a company that took care of its guides. We got several quotes and Unique Adventures International with Khum Subedi had the best offer that covered all of our requirements. After a lot of research we decided on the Poon Hill/Ghorepani trek a circuit leaving out of Nayapul. I was so pleased with the communication and the attention to detail that we decided to do the one splurge on our trip and book a private car for the longer legs of the non-treking portions of our 2 week vacation, a private car from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Pokhara to Chitwan and Chitwan to Kathmandu. I was so pleased with all of my decisions. They were so attentive to detail.
Khum arrived at our hotel in Kathmandu on the day that the car was taking us from Kathmandu to Pokhara. He introduced us to Chris our trek guide and Ram our driver. The fully air-conditioned 4 door SUV was roomy and had plenty of space for the two of us, our guide and all of our luggage. As someone on a budget I was hoping the private car was worth the extra money. Let me say unequivocally this was the best decision. First, my husband often gets motion sick on a bus and the roads in Nepal would have definitely contributed to this. Secondly, traffic is like nothing you have ever seen before. The private car made it a lot easier to pass oversized trucks and busses on the road. The 4 wheel drive got us safely through pot holes the size of swimming pools and rock piles from road construction work. I would say having this ability on the mountainous roads cut our time in half. When you only have a short amount of time those hours spent in a bus are worth every penny on a private car. Not to mention the comfort of being able to stretch out, have access to anything in your bags, the ability to stop to take a photo and being able to stop at a local roadside place to eat instead of one of the mass producing tourist bus restaurants for food. We had thought about doing flights which were even more expensive than the private car. The flights would have only been 30 minutes but when you think about having to be at the airport hours before to check in, worrying about restrictions on your luggage, possibilities of flight changes, having to pick up your luggage and getting transport to and from the airport most likely you would waste more time at the airport.
The trek portion was amazing! We did the Poon Hill Ghorepani circuit for 5 days with Chris as our guide. He was fantastic. He knew how to push us to make sure we made good time but was also aware when we just couldn’t go any further without a rest. This was so important for two people that live at sea level and don’t have any hills or mountains to prepare for the altitude and the uphill climbs. He was very patient with us being very inexperienced and older trekkers. (I turned 46 while in Chitwan on this trip) He shared with us information about Nepal that gave us an inside look into the culture that we would not have gotten any other way. He was a great conversationalist and a pleasure to talk with. You could do the Poon Hill trek without a guide. Most of the trek is labeled well but I am glad we had Chris. Having him as a guide gave us so many advantages. He had an eye on the weather and even though May leads into Monsoon season we didn’t get caught in the rain once. Being familiar with the weather patterns he could gauge how much time we had, when we needed to start in the morning and when we needed to arrive. He also knew when to time a tea break because he knew when an especially hard part of the trek was coming up and made sure we had a little refresh before starting. He also knew the teahouses and we had a room waiting for us when we arrived from a long day tired and hungry. We didn’t have to waste time or energy negotiating a teahouse. It also seemed like he always pushed us to the further teahouses so we were just a little closer to the beginning of the next day’s trail. This was especially nice for the trek up Poon Hill in the early morning to catch the sunrise.
I would feel comfortable recommending Unique Adventures to friends and family and would love to use them again. I also recommend Nepal as a destination for any adventurers out there. They have everything from Trekking the Himalayas, white water rafting, parasailing, bungee jumping, bird watching, and safaris and I am sure that Unique Adventures International and Khum Subedi would be happy to help you plan any of it.
Very helpful through the process. Made everything very easy.
Excellent Team Work & Friendly Staff
We (myself and my friend) booked for 12 days trekking to Everest base camp through "Unique adventures" Kathmandu, Nepal. The service provided by the company was great, Mr. Khum & Krishna subedi were extremely helpful in arranging everything before we ask, throughout the trekking they put is in the excellent hotel accommodation possible in that particular location.
After completing my 8 days of trekking to EBC I got symptoms of AMS, they did a very excellent coordination with my insurance company and evacuated me through helicopter in the shortest time possible and saved my life.
I strongly recommend this company for your trekking based on the excellent service provided by them.
Excellent communications from the beginning convinced me to chose this company for my visit to Island Peak via EBC and Kala Patthar. Khum and Krishna are very easy to deal with, responding promptly to queries and requests.
Very easy to communicate with. Good recommendations for extra activities after the trek. Highly recommend them.
Thank you to Unique Adventure for organizing my trek to Annapurna Base camp. Everything was efficiently organised , competent and professional. I was given an excellent English speaking guide called Dipendra who was good company as well as offering options and ideas to allow me to chose what suited me best. Thank you Khum and staff at Unique Adventure.
Great trek, with addition of home stay village of Tikot. No problems with health. Great food and good accommodation. Highly enjoyable trek with a super Company, Unique Adventure Intl Pvt.
It was a magical trip that offered once in a lifetime experience. Unique Adventure International P.Ltd. is for me is a very good company.I had good experienced in Trekking and Expedition. We will be in the future work together.I highly recommended.
Great service and unbelievable experience. Highly recommend.
Very Flexible, will accommodate or customize itinerary to suit group's needs.
All very comprehensive details as well as very professional and friendly staff, would recommend to anyone looking to do Annapurna or Everest Base camp trek.
Awesome guide and wonderful experience in Nepal!
Really a magical trip lost in the mountains and far away from the most frequented trekking routes.
The landscape is pure and you will find villages along the way with people living and there you will find your guest house waiting with a bed and good nepali food.
After a long research I piked up Unique Adventure. They looked like they know what they were doing and the price was very competitive. Mr Khum Subedi the man in charge was quick to answer my mails and available to my requests. I payed half from Europe with a bank transfer and gave the rest when in Katmandu almost 6 months later. I went with an experienced guide named Ram and a porter included. The accommodations were fine. All guest houses well experienced and some really real Mustang home life. The places are amazing.
If you want to go I strongly recommend you this company.
The company were very supportive before our trek, they were easy to contact and gave us the best advise. This continued when we trekked with them and I would definitely recommend the company to others.
Excellent company, excellent management and excellent company director. Five years I have friendly relations wiht Mr.Khum Subedi. He's a very successful tourism business directory and one of the best men in Nepal. All travelers to advise and give recommendations to choose Unique Adventure International Pvt Ltd.
Great communication before the trip and excellent personalised attention from Khum and his team in Kathmandu. Our trip to Everest Base Camp and Island Peak was well planned and we felt we were in safe hands with Lakpa Sherpa throughout the trek.
I get the trek to Mera Peak with Unique Adventure. They are so professional in this field and you just leave it to them everything. Staff, porter and guide are so friendly, kind and very helpful. I submit the peak without worry anything. Life was so relaxing during the trekking period. So, I advise you to do so. :) Ya.. Once again, it's Unique adventure. Thank you CEO Mr Khum and all member. Have a great day. :)
We were in Nepal for first time. Our main highlight for the trip was trekking Poon Hill and the ABC (before went to Chitwan and spent sometime in Pokhara and Kathmandu) with our guide, Chris. We are very impressed with his experience and knowledge, not just on things relating to the trek but generally on Nepal's culture and socio-politics as well! As for Unique Adventure, we are highly satisfied with the overall's service. The replies were generally replied promptly and in clear manner. Will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is traveling to Nepal!
I really appreciated the fast reply to all of my mails as well as the pick up service from the airport, where Krishna was holding a sign with my name rather than the name of the company. I have to add.. there are heaps of people waiting outside the airport and it felt quite stressing after almost 24 hours of flight.
The hotel was close to the office and the main backpacking area, and it was definitely easy to find my way around in Thamel.
Flight and trekking permits were organized before my arrival. Even though I didn't felt at easy to transfer the money for my trip to an bank account in Nepal, it turned out already and wasn't of a problem.
Personally had a only experienced troubles with the pick up taxi to Lukla and back to the airport, which is probably not Unique Adventures fault, though it happened to me 3 times. All in all I had a great trip with Unique Adventure, and can recommend them to everybody.
We were very happy with Unique but did not reach the summit of Chulu West. Positioning the high camp nearer to the summit would have improved our summit chances.
Very good agency. I like much the cooperating with "Unique Adventure International Pvt Ltd". Berthold from Germany (HONKA/Alpinberater.de)
